Hello Rob, this arrangement coupled with your sensitive touch , captures perfectly the lost love so beautifully sang by Frank Sinatra on his Capitol recording with Nelson Riddle. I'm going to give this a try !
That's just great... and Galbraith's arrangement, well... it's easy to see why he was so highly rated by his contemporaries. An unsung hero! And you play it so well.
@@RobMacKillop1 Does not matter that you didn't write it cause when you play it ... You own it. You play it so sweetly. Have a great day ... I know I'm going to have a great day because my youngest son who lives in Mexico is here visiting and we're heading out in a bit. Love & Peace to you and All
The third string will last a few years - really. The second, maybe six months. The first - sometimes a few months, sometimes a few minutes! I have had first strings last for six months, but also six minutes. On average, a two or three months.
Cheers. Standard tuning, but with gut strings you have to tune a little lower, just a quarter tone, though sometimes I dip a whole semitone when the strings are new. These strings are four months old.
Not that accurately. I tune the guitar each day to where I think it sounds best, which is anywhere from 415 to 430. As long as I'm not playing with another instrument, this is fine. A=440 was chosen by a committee in 1939, and the last thing they were thinking about was the guitar - they chose it for orchestral instruments. It's a big subject.
Absolutely lovely. l first heard this tune played by the wonderful Kenny Burrell on a classical guitar years ago.
I’ve never heard Kenny doing it. I imagine it would be most excellent!
The beauty of your playing just amazes me. The feeling and emotion I hear in this is just gorgeous.
Thanks, Steve. One of my favourites.
Can feel more and more this song as long as i suddenly, and without notice, i found my self closer to the 50s. Lovely talent and rendition. Cheers.
Thanks.

High praise, David. Many thanks! And, yes, you should give it a try! Good luck.
I hadn't realized it before, but this gorgeous tune was made for classical guitar. Lovely rendition and tone!
I agree! It works really well on classical guitar. Thanks for your comment.
pure brilliance - bravo
Cheers, Rag.
What beautiful, tasteful playing. Fantastic.
Thanks yet again :-)

Absolutely beautiful, captivating tone, and perfect playing, sir! Where can I find a sheet for this arrangement?
Published by Mel Bay - two books of arrangements by Galbraith, standard notation plus tab. Glad you like it!
For how long would you say gut strings last? Nice playing! :)

Rob MacKillop Ok, thanks :)
Beautiful. What tuning are you using?

+Rob MacKillop Does this mean you usually tune A=427.5, but sometimes A=415?
