I once had a 'going the wrong way' episode. At the moment you realize it, a flood of thoughts rush through the gray cells: anger, foolishness, stupidity, hope-no-one-is-watching, etc. At the end, all you can do is roll your eyes at yourself, say a long sheeeeesh, and then laugh at yourself, as you did. Thanks for showing us that even though you are a super-hiker, you're still human like the rest of us.
A handy tool for camping in snow is a 9" square cake pan. It can be a snow shovel, for melting snow, or turned upside down can hold a heated rock(if you can build a fire) in your tent. Another good video. Good Luck, Rick
I'm enjoying the dramatic pause/sigh/deep breathes. It is evident you are enjoying the moment. "Experienced hiker" must mean you have made many wrong turns...
Feral - Just finished The Long Trail yesterday (freaking tough trail) and glad to see you still pushing north bro! Stay strong. BTW, do you listen to audiobooks? I would love to send you a free Audible download to my new book Pushing North: Tame the Mind, Savor the Journey. I have really enjoyed watching you this year and would like to give back with something that you will hopefully enjoy while hiking. Audible gives me links to send out to folks to help get reviews going (no expectations from me for a review). You're a beast bro!!! Let me know and we can synch on where to send the link. Early Riser 🤘🕓
Early Riser: I have seen your name and replies on other channels. I just subbed to yours. I ad a double calf muscle blowout on the LT last fall after only 70 something miles, SOBO. It was too much for me, because I hadn't done any hiking since a 140 mile AT section hike the previous fall. I recovered enough to do 270 AT miles this spring before being called home to attend to some issues (all good, all resolved). I should be heading south to finish up the AT next spring, then try the LT again in the fall. Now to binge watch your channel. 👍

Thank you for the Pockets Just Jim update. That is sad after all her hard work. Gunfire, hope the Elk and bear ( and you) stay safe.
I didn't make it two seconds before stopping to comment on that breathtaking sunrise - spectacular!
Hiker gets turned around? SNAFU. LOL!😊👍
