Being in the loop I knew watch dogs 1 was not great so I never played it, forgot about the series and saw watch dogs legion wasn’t great either. Saw watch dogs 2 had a FPS boost so I tried it, pleasantly surprised.
Something that I never see anyone bring up about this game is how insane the AI can be. Like I said I never see anyone else bring this up so maybe this was mainly in the Xbox One version, but I had so many instances of peds, enemies, etc just acting utterly bizarre. My favorite story: one time I was in a car store and bumped this guy's shoulder. He pushes me back which sends me into another guy so now he's pushing me. Within seconds the entire store is in a full blown fist fight. The guy behind the counter pulls out a fucking shotgun and just starts unloading into the crowd. Everyone scatters. Cops show up but the employee is long gone.
I once saw a civilian wrecking a parked car on the side of the road with a baseball bat, then another civilian who I assume is the owner starts pushing her around and they started fighting, it’s wild.

You can tell a lot of care and detail was put into the game, and its overall style combined with that makes it an almost perfect game. But the fact it didnt get the attention Ubisoft felt it deserved caused them to lose hope in the series and its why Legion feels like a half baked effort. Really sucks.

I suspect Ubi listened to the fans/haters too much throughout the series: They complained about the downgrades and overly dark Aiden in WD1, then they complained about the unbelievable, colorful, hipster assassin group led by a criminally underrated and underdeveloped Marcus in WD2-so Ubi just said let's make a game led by npcs(?) that can look however you want in the dreary city of London(?) with a worse story line than the previous two games and even less of the mechanics that gave the series its unique identity. Bad decisions, yes, but mainly because they listened to too much critique.
Watch Dogs 2 is severely underrated. This game rivaled GTA 5. The characters, the story, the clothing you could have... the soundtrack, the parkour, the gadgets... man, I miss it.

True, even through some of the backlash this was the best sequel that Ubisoft have done for the watch dogs series, this game was made with heart and innovative devs unlike other ubisoft releases.
I haven’t finished the game yet but one criticism I do have is, the main character Marcus, when he “meets” the gang and gets kidnapped, it’s almost like he’s known them his whole life, It makes it hard to believe that these guys have just met Marcus.

Legion could have been amazing too but they took some bad story and gameplay decisions. Innovative decisions for sure, but to the detriment of gameplay and story cohesion.
i love both WD2 and WD legion, they are unique on its own. But WD2 has a weirdly calmful ambience and the world is just so much nicer to explore (i love the London map but it kind of lacking the vibrant and laidback tone that the SF map offers). And most importantly, the music in WD2 is so darn good.
I still play watchdogs 2 constantly even after having completed the game, having bought all the clothes and cars, basically after doing everything you could do. Maybe it’s just me, but there’s an aesthetic to how this game looks, and how the sound works. It’s actually very peaceful.
@@stagkk_9234 Yes. I just had a PS5 last month and this is the first game I bought. You can play without the online event, but you may encounter similar online event with AI instead such as Shipment Truck, Chase and Hacking. Hell, you can even play the co-op mission without Internet too
This game was FIRE. Something not talked about enough is the cast of characters in the game. Yeah there's dissonance when you compare their cutscene personalities with your in-game actions , but theres no denying they really nailed the vibes of each of these characters, really vibrant and fun to interact with. Same with the setting and the game as a whole man, I LOVE IT.
So happy to see this game still being talked about. I got it for Christmas 2016 when it released and I quickly became obsessed, it’s one of the first games I have 100% completion on. I loved how much of a 180 it did from the first watch dogs. I never did like the first watch dogs cuz of how dark and depressing it was, this game was the complete opposite and I love it! Because of it I now want to go to San Francisco one day lol
This game was the reason I got so obsessed with SF. I finally got to go this year and it was definitely worth it. The game does a great job of representing the many of the major aspects of the city and the surrounding areas. literally I drove around the map so much to the point that when I was in the city, I already knew where I was without even having to look at a map.
I used to play this game and I must say I had a really great time. The city feels alive and the whole scenery looks awesome and the finest thing was the music, it was really good. I used to roam around listening to the classical music, this really made this game to rank among top 10 in my list!

I just rebooted this game up again after about 3 years or more. It's one of the best games ever if you put the time into it and learn all the crazy stuff you can do in the online modes.
I’m thinking of rebooting this myself haven’t played wd2 in a while looks better than I remember it, I beat legion last year along with the dlc’s that was tough 😱 as much as I loved it being in a futuristic London with really good map and the ability to change to so many characters I doubt I’d ever try to beat that story again.

Loved playing this when it first came out. Tons of people online and there was random bounties, people trying to hack you or opportunities to hack other people outside of story missions. You could be on your way to another mission and someone would go flying by with a briefcase they stole and other players racing behind trying to take it.
Oh reminds me. One time I invaded someone's game to hack them. I was speeding down a street looking at the map to find them and didn't realize they were also in a car driving towards me. We collided head on, but I had a better car so while his completely wrecked and went off the road, mine was still barely drivable. Was able to hack him and continue driving off to hide in a suburb. I still wonder what his reaction was when that happened. He didn't scan me to detect I was a player hacker, so he must have been unaware he was invaded at the time and wondered how an npc ai had messed up so bad.
It looks pretty good with all these Nvidia effects, too. The high fulstrum shadows are awesome. Love going back to old games and maxing out the Nvidia tech. The batman games are dope with their PhysX
One thing he didnt mention was the chracters were amazing, I loved the whole dedsec crew, especially wrench and it wasnt boring or annoying listening to all their calls bc unlike gta 5 it doesnt hinder your movement and gameplay
I remember one time I saw two npc's getting into an argument, which led to them fighting, then the police got called by a bystander and arrested one of them.
I still play regulary since 2019 and still one of if not the best game i ever played in my honest opinion The graphics are very nice On xbox series S/X runs 60 FPS Lots of things to Discover on the map And a pretty enjoyable online mode
i honestly felt the story could have been better esp with Marcus relationship with his aunt or wateva, as well as his background, also could have more interaction and story with other gangs could have been fun
One thing I like about the driving is there is a real need for off road vehicles, it’s not as easy to climb hills etc… with a sports car as a 4wd/ dirtbike etc

Sadly the modern open world action games are disappearing. These days it's all post-apocalyptic/zombies/fantasy/artistic ancient. If you don't like any of these, not much else left for you to play, especially modern open world games.
I’m currently playing WD2. It’s decent and I’ll play it to the finish. I preferred WD1. I’d like to see a 4th installment to the game. Is WD3 worth me playing?
WD3 is messy and it doesnt have a group or a character you can actually enjoy looking at or playing. The gameplay is all right. If you enjoy WD2 a lot, i would not recommend WD3
I especially loved the idea you could hack peoples conversations and messages, bank account etc. it makes it feel like you are actually interacting with the environment around you. I have already explored the whole map and still play it to this day on my xbox. But i could walk around for hours exploring. The multiplayer is also good too 👍 thanks for your opinion you deserve a like on this video.
One thing I think gets overlooked a lot in this game is the setting. Ubi did an incredible job recreating the Bay area. I just returned from a week-long trip out there for the first time, and it felt like I'd already been there before. From the cable cars to the bridges to China banks to Mission Dolores to the Painted Ladies to Coit Tower to Pier 39 to Haight-Ashbury to the Palace of Fine Arts to Sausalito and Oakland, this game captures a lot of the landmarks and essence of the city. It really is kind of another character in and of itself.
This game had a lot of great features I wouldn’t be surprised if rockstar took notes for gta 6 the phone menu with all the apps would be great to see And having some of the same apps too would be cool Like having your cars delivered to you (which I guess it a thing already in gta online) would be great Playing music when not in vehicles was also a great feature The movement would also be great to see
I rented this game for a week back in the day, and i enjoyed it. At the time i was playing other games though, so ended up never buying it. Have been thinking about buying it recently.
*Spoilers alert* I just finished Watch dogs 2 after 70 hours. Can't stop playing for more. This game could be better if the Villains does more roles in story (Like killing one of our teammate directly) so we can get more emotional revenge. And we can fight the Villains directly like boss battle. More main mission with teammates so we can get more connection. So many wasted potential put on side missions. And maybe Marcus could date like GTA San Andreas. Buy some property. Many restaurant interior got so much attention to detail, but nothing to do there besides drink beer or coffe. But Overall I still love this game. Especially the city of San Francisco. Score 8 out of 10 for me ❤

This game was worth every minute of playing, the gameplay especially when you have most of the hacking upgrades unlocked. Let alone the parkour Marcus is capable of. Marcus is also one of the best characters ever made he isn’t that typical wannabe hard black dude nor is he that stereotypical white washed douche token he’s like that chill black guy you meet at a party who’s openly funny but has a secret life on the side 💀 overall 10/10 game
This was my favorite game I ever played. It actually changed my life and made me who I am today. And how the good the game is looking? It's looking better than many other 2023 titles.
This game is definitely still worth playing. The gameplay is arguably the most fun in the Watch Dogs series. Although you didn't find something to complain about, I think a large complaint about WD2 was that the story was downgraded compared to WD1. Also, back in the day people said that it was trying too hard to copy GTA 5. Everything else, from the graphics, to gameplay, the hacking, its perfect. Never played WDL but I assume WD2 is many times better than Legion. In conclusion Watch Dogs 2 is worth revisiting.

I have played this game 20+ times from start to finish so its safe to say it is my favourite game of all time, but it definitely has its downsides. That being said, it is criminally underrated and was never given a proper chance after the first game let fans down. Makes me sad because it genuinely is such an impressive game and is so slept on, as you said, it holds up 7 years later and that is very impressive. It may not compare to GTA, but its not GTA, its Watch Dogs, and a vast improvement from the first game. Better than Legion too imo.

I played the game on xbox one a few years back and thought of replaying the game on pc, but the game runs bad no matter what I do and I constantly get pixelated edges even with anti aliasing turned on. I feel like each watch dogs games has its pros and cons, the first was best for weaponry , watch dogs 2 best for general gameplay and legion has the best player mechanics
Personally think it's really funny and very enjoyable, a few bugs here and there but this game does some open world elements better than GTA, like NPC interactions.

I play this game in 2023 with ultra setting, it does surprised me how beautiful the graphic is and not to mention the story and gameplay is pretty enjoyable a lot of stuff to do.

This is one of the best games I've ever played. Being a GTA fan, I can still say that I enjoyed this more than GTA V at one point.

One of my absolute favorite games in the open world genre. Coop is also too much fun :)

It looks pretty good with all these Nvidia effects, too. The high fulstrum shadows are awesome. Love going back to old games and maxing out the Nvidia tech. The batman games are dope with their PhysX
One thing he didnt mention was the chracters were amazing, I loved the whole dedsec crew, especially wrench and it wasnt boring or annoying listening to all their calls bc unlike gta 5 it doesnt hinder your movement and gameplay

I remember one time I saw two npc's getting into an argument, which led to them fighting, then the police got called by a bystander and arrested one of them.
Being from the bay it was nice to see iconic places. The home base was at delores park!
I still play regulary since 2019 and still one of if not the best game i ever played in my honest opinion

One thing I like about the driving is there is a real need for off road vehicles, it’s not as easy to climb hills etc… with a sports car as a 4wd/ dirtbike etc
Those game physics are really amazing. Was just playing Horizon 5 the other day and though how ridiculous it was I could drive a Lambo off road on rocks with no issues…

I've been on the fence about playing Watch Dogs 2. I wasn't sure I'd like it. But I think it's worth a shot, given what you've said.
I used to play wd2 back in the day, i was a kid then, i didnt get whats goin on in the game and didnt know what to do in the missions, now i almost beaten it and its so cool, sad that its so underrated😢
I've recently started playing this a while ago, and man, I wish there were more good GTA clones because Watch Dogs 2 is so good that I wish there was more to it.
Sadly the modern open world action games are disappearing. These days it's all post-apocalyptic/zombies/fantasy/artistic ancient.
If you don't like any of these, not much else left for you to play, especially modern open world games.
And now some features of watchdogs is being copied on to gta 6. Like hacking, jamming, interrupting NPC from calling cops etc

WD3 is messy and it doesnt have a group or a character you can actually enjoy looking at or playing. The gameplay is all right. If you enjoy WD2 a lot, i would not recommend WD3
I especially loved the idea you could hack peoples conversations and messages, bank account etc. it makes it feel like you are actually interacting with the environment around you. I have already explored the whole map and still play it to this day on my xbox. But i could walk around for hours exploring. The multiplayer is also good too 👍 thanks for your opinion you deserve a like on this video.

I'm playing it for the first time these days and I'm loving it! It's underrated
One thing I think gets overlooked a lot in this game is the setting. Ubi did an incredible job recreating the Bay area. I just returned from a week-long trip out there for the first time, and it felt like I'd already been there before. From the cable cars to the bridges to China banks to Mission Dolores to the Painted Ladies to Coit Tower to Pier 39 to Haight-Ashbury to the Palace of Fine Arts to Sausalito and Oakland, this game captures a lot of the landmarks and essence of the city. It really is kind of another character in and of itself.
This game had a lot of great features
I wouldn’t be surprised if rockstar took notes for gta 6
the phone menu with all the apps would be great to see
And having some of the same apps too would be cool
Like having your cars delivered to you (which I guess it a thing already in gta online) would be great
Playing music when not in vehicles was also a great feature
The movement would also be great to see
I rented this game for a week back in the day, and i enjoyed it. At the time i was playing other games though, so ended up never buying it. Have been thinking about buying it recently.

I just finished Watch dogs 2 after 70 hours. Can't stop playing for more. This game could be better if the Villains does more roles in story (Like killing one of our teammate directly) so we can get more emotional revenge.
And we can fight the Villains directly like boss battle.
More main mission with teammates so we can get more connection. So many wasted potential put on side missions.
And maybe Marcus could date like GTA San Andreas. Buy some property. Many restaurant interior got so much attention to detail, but nothing to do there besides drink beer or coffe.
But Overall I still love this game. Especially the city of San Francisco.

This game was worth every minute of playing, the gameplay especially when you have most of the hacking upgrades unlocked. Let alone the parkour Marcus is capable of. Marcus is also one of the best characters ever made he isn’t that typical wannabe hard black dude nor is he that stereotypical white washed douche token he’s like that chill black guy you meet at a party who’s openly funny but has a secret life on the side 💀 overall 10/10 game

This was my favorite game I ever played. It actually changed my life and made me who I am today. And how the good the game is looking? It's looking better than many other 2023 titles.
This game is definitely still worth playing. The gameplay is arguably the most fun in the Watch Dogs series. Although you didn't find something to complain about, I think a large complaint about WD2 was that the story was downgraded compared to WD1. Also, back in the day people said that it was trying too hard to copy GTA 5. Everything else, from the graphics, to gameplay, the hacking, its perfect. Never played WDL but I assume WD2 is many times better than Legion. In conclusion Watch Dogs 2 is worth revisiting.

I have played this game 20+ times from start to finish so its safe to say it is my favourite game of all time, but it definitely has its downsides. That being said, it is criminally underrated and was never given a proper chance after the first game let fans down. Makes me sad because it genuinely is such an impressive game and is so slept on, as you said, it holds up 7 years later and that is very impressive. It may not compare to GTA, but its not GTA, its Watch Dogs, and a vast improvement from the first game. Better than Legion too imo.

I play this game in 2023 with ultra setting, it does surprised me how beautiful the graphic is and not to mention the story and gameplay is pretty enjoyable a lot of stuff to do.
