    At first I had no sense of scale and thought the mini loader meant some sort of RC-car like toy. Then I saw the humans and was fascinated by the sheer size of modern trading ships.

    Interesting process, I would have thought they’d be using some sort of vacuum technology. Very basic Skidsteer operation…..

    • @portcranepersonnel4511
      @portcranepersonnel4511  10 месяцев назад

      We have a vacuum system, but it takes a very long time to unload a ship. Let me tell you this, we unload 800 tons in 1 hour with this crane, the vacuum system unloads 250 tons in 1 hour.

    I trust the operator wasn’t in the machine at the time it was being lowered into the hold. We lost a colleague using this method a few years ago in London when the Bob Cat broke free from the crane😢.

      A lot of these skidders will have plastic or composite wear plates on their buckets to reduce the risk of sparks.

      All machines leak a bit. What about the grease in the joints, bucket etc maybe it is a special non lubricated machine. What about all the oil dirt and junk the rubber tires collect going around the port
