I'd say one thing on Kanaya being able to stand after being shot by Eridan. In older mythology vampires are called walking dead or already dead. It was even referenced in pesterquest by mspa reader when he thought that Kanaya wanted to be walking dead. So it makes sense not only for her to become rainbow drinker after death, but also being able to walk.
