I have always suffered with migraines and cut out dairy and reduced suger consumption years ago. I always use olive in cakes, they taste great and my kids like them too, in fact I have never found anyone that does not like them. Maybe olive oil does not work with flour in a recipe, but I use ground almonds and coconut flour and it works great. Just one very easy recipe below
    Simple Chocolate Orange brownie recipe.
    * Whole Milk chocolate Terry's Chocolate Orange (or 100 ish grams of whatever chocolate you like) & 110 grams of olive oil in a bowl heat 1 minute in microwave, mix until combined.
    * Add to bowl 2 eggs & 120 grams of sugar, mix until combined.
    * Add to bowl 100 grams ground almonds & 20 grams coconut four & 1 tsp baking powder, mix until combined.
*Optional, add 2 handfuls of whatever nuts you like and mix in until combined.
    * Line 9 inch square baking pan or equivalent size pan with baking parchment and put mixture in pan.
    * Bake at 180 degrees for 20 to 25 mins, fan assisted over 170 degrees.

Does she suggest eating fish every day? I would also recommend decreasing the consumption of dairy, sweets, limiting caffeine and increasing water intake

The diet in the study is briefly described in the supplement www.bmj.com/content/bmj/suppl/2021/06/30/bmj.n1448.DC1/ramc061407.ww.pdf
The only animal proteins provided to the intervention groups are tuna, trout, salmon (and everyone was provided shrimp), yoghurt, cheese sticks. In the menu plan some other items appear which weren't provided including milk and icecream. The focus is almost entirely on the amounts of omega-3 and omega-6, so less concerned with the specific foods.

Thank you. I have had a terrible time with migraines, especially in the past 6 months (30 migraine days a month). I’m looking at all the aspects of my life to control this disease.

What about avocado oil and coconut oil? The refined version doesn’t taste like coconut

Eating 4 to 8 oz of salmon per day is not easy. It’s expensive and even tho’ I actually like salmon and have a good source, I can’t imagine how to get that much into myself daily.

Taking some through suplements makes more sense.

Flaxseed ground and flax oil. Then maybe salmon once or twice a week but not farm raised.

Flaxseed makes my breasts ache because they have a substance that activates estrogen receptors. I love salmon but it is a known migraine trigger. I can eat it one day and get by. If I eat it the next day, I get a headache. I only eat wild caught Alaskan salmon. Fish oil gives me a headache.

Start wirh 16 headache days per month, come out with 9, but add back 3 for placebo effect...is 12...so 16 to 12 is still 25%, but definitely not cutting in half.

I found eating 100% clean nothing processed helps sooo much! And if I eat something with additives or preservatives etc i get severe aura migraines, micronised estrogen creams definitely work too! ❤

I wish you had asked her opinion about the ketogenic diet and Dr. Josh Tarknett’s approach to this low carbohydrate diet.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the more natural the diet, the better it is. Vegatable oils are highly processed. A rule that i think people should follow is if I can't make it in my kitchen from raw ingrediants, then it's not a food to be consumed by humans.

??Has your institution done any studies on the effects of a low fat plant based diet on migraines?

Was the study the same as the paper referred to in this interview? It sounds like one was done using flax seed and the other used flax seed oil? Because she's saying the oil is one chemical...really? It looks like the chart is not based on fish consumption, they used fish oil. Very confusing as to what your sources are here.
