The Reckless Recluse Well, there were a few opportunities, but they seemed to go to the same people (Eddie, Will, Wesley, Sam). But you're right, I can only think of two black comic book superhero movie franchises that came out in the 90s and 00s, and only one (Blade) was success. Spawn bombed at the box office and never got a sequel (although a reboot was recently announced). While Chadwick is absolutely amazing, he has definitely benefitted from timing.
