This recording was done several years ago by my band at the time INERTIA 8. Myself and the guitarist from that band are currently recording an album with our new band Sublevel 27. The album will include a new version of "Into a Darkened Room", and the sound is very much the same.

Hi there Michael, I am working on a short film of no more than 5 minutes and would like to use into a darkened room. The project is part of a small challenge to filmmakers in Panama City, republic of Panama, to create a short film of maximum 5 minutes. This project will be screened in a temporary space to that effect. All work is being done on voluntary basis and there will be no income from the screening. What do I need to do to have the rights to use the song in the short film? And should I desire to submit the short film to film festivals would that also be possible? It's been way too long but we are finally in the process of re-recording and mixing this and a bunch of other songs that we've written in the same vein. Got this track off one of the old file sharing programs, and like many other people my track was labeled something like "NIN The Cure Depeche Mode". I had to Google the hell out of the lyrics back then before finding out the real band name. Anyway, thanks for the memories dude!

I was sure it wasn't one of the mentioned bands in the song tag so I searched with Google and found a forum, where Michael England (the Co-Writer I think) wrote down the name of the band (Inertia8). *is happy* This song is so great and I am glad I know the name of the "real" musicians now :D

Finally a mystery solved? This has been on my disk for many years (since 2003/2004). I never knew the origin nor did i trust the meta on the mp3 to be accurate. I got the track from my brother. We both instantly loved this track.
Trust me that is my voice and my old band playing that song, as well as we are the one's who wrote it. If you listen closely, it really doesn't even sound like DM.

I found this song when I was in high school. Loved it ever since. Rare song too. My favorite artists all together.
