- EXTRA in vehicle SECURITY from TUFFY or Ford, choose wisely!! Good to be back PSD Superduty FAMILY!! I had ordered the Ford vault only to find out that you could NOT use the factory tray while using the Ford vault. We then ordered one from Turffy security products and noted that you COULD use the factory tray and the whole unit had a bigger opening and was cheaper to purchase. Watch this video and tell me which one we should go with. Let me know below friends & tell me what you all think! Remember to LIKE - COMMENT - SUB - SHARE #diesel #fordtrucks #fyp

Had to comment again after reading the comments. Some people are crying about the lack of security with these safes. The common opportunistic thief isn't spending minutes in your vehicle, they are taking seconds to grab whatever they can. Thanks to Ring cams, we now get to see how dumb they actually are. They are lowlife door checkers, not highly trained auto thieves. Another key feature in my F250 Lariat Tremor is motion sensors that will trip the alarm if they break a window, which happened to me within a month of owning the truck. They ran faster than I could get outside. I'm not storing the Hope Diamond in there, just portable speakers, ear buds, small emergency cash, registration and insurance, and other random things that I wouldn't want visable from the outside.
It kills me every time I watch your videos I always have to buy something you're turning me into a junkie I have to get my fix on some new parts I'm definitely going to buy the tuffy box I just made up my mind you got a lot of room in there great video and thank you for the info
🤣🤣🤣🤣
So funny. I feel the same way. There is a divider system that you can get that goes below the console vault. It’s pretty trick too. Off to buy this vault.
Check description ask for him!!!
Absolutely correct. Always brings good stuff to show
Me too! I am saving for the DWD lights and harness.
i wear my .40cal on my waist concealed or open carry here in wisconsin. that locked up gun will do you no good if you are getting car jacked or need it
But there's places that you can't legally carry, doctors offices, schools, post offices etc. It works great for that. That and my other other spare mags. Put the firearm in there when you have to go into those places and put it back on your hip when you come out. I've gotten some weird looks when I go to put it back in the holster. :)
Mine came with the ford one already installed. It’s pretty cool and I like the ford emblem on there. I work in the chemical and refining industry and I put my cell phone and other valuables in there due to having to leave the truck turned off, unlocked with the keys in it because if the circumstances require the emergency responders to respond they can move the truck if they need access with emergency vehicles. Keeps the honest guy out but could probably be broke into with enough time. Ford #1!!
I love this safe and how it installs. Unfortunately, per Tuffy’s web site this will not fit my 2024 F250. With Lock’er Down apparently out of business or at least not accepting orders the Console Vault seams to be the only full console safe for my truck. Kind of disappointing.
Yeah those new consoles are totally different
The Tuffy’s lid seems to be made better, but I like the look of the OEM. I think either one would be a good deterrent against thieves. Rick Dorion / 2018 -250
I owned a 2011 f-150 and put a" Lock-R- Down" console vault in it. I have a 2018 Super Duty now with the "Lock-R-Down" vault could not use the tray in either one. It was not a big deal to me though, I just put the tray inside the vault.
Ford one was installed at the dealership I believe before delivery..I use it often to store my drone don't tell anyone!
Out of sight out of mind.
I wouldn’t use either honestly. You can get in either of those in seconds so know it’s not to keep things in the truck all day or all night. There’s better options. For a gun there’s definitely better options. These aren’t securin anything honestly. Maybe from a kid walkin by, but A six inch pry bars poppin them open in no time.
Exactly or they'll just take the whole truck and deal with the safe later. 😆
@@Jason1Pa not with a killswitch they won’t!!
Ya the glove box in my F150 locks and probably almost as effective
@@Carriesaglock yep or back seat If they lock
Locks and laws only keep the honest people out.
I have the Lock'er Down one for my F250 and am very pleased with it.
Had an OEM one for a customer who bought used. The factory 0000 code wouldn't work.
I have the Tuffy box that goes under the rear seat and I love it. I have the console vault on my wish list. Tuffy is a great product.
Oh wow i didnt know they had an under the seat storage
Buy the cheapest version of a console safe you can find! They are all the same product, with a different brand name, and none of them provides any real security. Thieves broke into my 2017 F150 using a pair of channel locks, then they twisted the dial on my Ford branded vault open with the same set of pliers. Hotel surveillance cameras showed it was less than one minute to get into the truck and into the safe (48 seconds). These safes are only good for stuff like valets, locking up valuables while getting an oil change, keeping kids out etc. It doesn’t matter how they advertise “steel thickness” or “anti break in lock features” these screw into plastic trim and the entire safe can easily be pried out of the center console with a screw driver or small pry tool. The only reason I replaced my safe is because we have kids and travel with a gun, which don’t ever leave in the vehicle anyway.
The OEM can be broken into with a set of channel locks at the lock. 5 secs.
Like everything it all depends upon what you want. If you just need to satisfy laws then get the ford one, but if you really want your firearm protected (for longer, it's still in a console) then get the upgraded one.
Keep ‘‘em coming man! Love the content!
There are times when I am out and have to store stuff I don’t want to be easily taken. Or if I need to go into a building with metal detectors, or out of respect for rules. Is this fool proof, probably not. But it would take longer and help with stupid laws.
The Ford factory safe consoles are absolutely amazing! You can use them to hide all your good stuff like a gun if you're a hunter.
What do you hunt with a pistol?
@@Tonyr0206 I don’t hunt, I was just saying
@@Tonyr0206I was thinking the same thing 😂
@@Tonyr0206I was thinking the same thing 😂
well how big is your hand, and my 9mm is not that big...
I have a Console Vault and a Tuffy in the 150s and the ford one in the 350. I've never had any issues with any of them.
@@semajniffirg230 Yeah, they have used console vaults for a long time now for the OEM stuff. The 150s are an '09 and a '10 I bought them aftermarket long after getting the pickups. The one in the 350 came with the truck. I honestly can't tell much of a difference in build quality between any of them. The wife has the tuffy in her '10 and the door was still larger back in '18 when I bought it for her. My "old" '09 had the console vault from I think '15 or so. The one thing I do like about the older console vault over the tuffy is the spring loaded door. The wife likes to use her divider/tray still that's why she got the tuffy.
Sold , going to order mine today , perfect . Especially since I live in NYC . 2019 F350 Lariat 6.7 . Every day driver
I’ll give you $100 plus shipping for the Ford Console Vault unit.
How often/ how easily are there’s safes defeated? Here in Texas they’ll break in to Super Duty’s and ignore cash and electronics - looking SOLELY for firearms. It seems they have LONG figured out how to defeat these in-truck safes within seconds.
My take: if you’re not willing to CARRY the gun you’re transporting (when you leave the truck) I can’t see ANY reason to bring and leave your gun in the truck. Sorry to be blunt, but there ya go!
I would use SECURITY from TUFFY it looks beter and safer
Very nice. I like the Tuffy.
I have the OEM and do find the opening a little small. No, I would not count on it to secure valuables, but it would slow down the amateur opportunist thief I think.
Very nice! I like both!
Awesome video two of my favorite things super dutys and anything to do with guns
OEM
Our Second amendment is second to None!
Good place to store some spare pistol or rifle magazines and expensive small tools.
You could put a mac10 or CZ scorpion in there🤣
Needs something to cover it up better.
Got the Tuffy in my ‘16 F250. Love it!,
Nice choice
great video. I have the OEM and wish I could fit the tray above. Does anyone know of a tray that would fit on top? Thanks
Not thru ford. That was a deal breaker for me. I gave it away at 100k
Shout check out console vault
Love it, great vid as always. By the way, my wife hates you $$$$$$ LMAO
Dude thats so funny, i hear it over and over. Guy said he usually watches when he lays down his wife hears me & looks over cant you go watch that in the garage 🤣🤣
Amazing video and gave me everything i needed - Just ordered the Tuffy and video saved for the install walkthrough. Thanks from Canada!!
U bet buddddy
What year trucks were these safes for? tuffy customer service says they don't have one for 2023 yet
Yea 23 they changed the console
Nice Product and Install !!
Just ordered one for mine! Thanks
Did you figure out the USB thing as you can't access it with the safe closed?
What USB thing
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod you mentioned in another comment that you were working for a way to use the power port with the safe closed so that it was still usable and accessible
Great video. Glad i found it. My tuffy is arriving today.
Way better than the ford one
Went with the Tuffy
Well you just sold me on this product I just ordered it
I love mine man
My 2019 F-350 (used) came with the Ford safe, but not the combo. Waiting for locksmith to unlock (he needs a scope kit and his broke.
He doesn't need a "scope kit". Theres 2 other methods.
@@Itsa_Mea Could you please elaborate? Thanks
Next give Away
Off Subject, is there a motor oil outside of Motorcraft that you would recommend for the 6.7 powerstroke? I live a long distance from a dealer. Thanks for your channel, I always learn a lot.
Amsoil, Schaffers rotella t6 & hotshot secrets. They all have good oil. We have a promo code PTT for HSS site.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Thanks Brother
Many people will consider the tray part a deal breaker, and I don’t blame them.
NOTE: I do NOT own a Super Duty!
Lololol welcome tho
having to move the tray all the time to open the safe... could also be a drawback ..
Can you still pass through the USB cable… have something connected while the safe is closed.
Nope but we have better ideas for that
Was thinking the same thing. I use the port. I too have so ideas on how to gain access or put in an alternate power port under the dash.
DON’T BUY THESE. Had one in my Silverado, did nothing to keep out a criminal when my truck was broken into
Hello Aaron, been subscribed for a couple years now had a few different power strokes love my super duty.
The wife has a 4-runner and thinking about getting a 2022 Ford Explorer with the 2.3 Heard things about head gaskets and transmission issues what is your opinion thank you greatly appreciate it love your channel!!
Thanks brother!!!!
So what do you think about the 2.3 explorer??
Havent had the privilege to be around them
The tray fits in the bottom of the storage bin quite easily. I was faced with the same thing and that’s the option I came up with.
Watching a video on how to install is always so much better than reading instructions
Riiiiight
And of course the one i was different from the one you installed. Unfortunately they made it a 3 piece unit now! Smaller opening and harder to install.@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
I can't see where I can order the combination lock, I only see the keyed lock
He said its there, i missed it too.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Thanks 😁
Gotta buy the Ford vault for a Ford
Naw
Awsome 👍
I’ve been wanting one of those I think I’m definitely gonna get the Tuffy one this way I’ll be able to secure my firearm
Do u still have Ford one for sale
I do, might be doing a giveway. Email us, vid description
I have dual trays in my console and it is a must for me. I wish the tuff one had the lock in the middle rather than offset to the passenger side. Would the tray work with the key lock as it is shallower? I also notice your current tray has an inset on the bottom towards the lock. Maybe I could find passenger tray like that. PS>2 trays = no rattling ;)
I went same way... Very happy with it and i can now get a full size tissue box in top without it being crushed.
Both have exposed hinges wtf
Do like the oem safe but for $199, ordering the tuffy.
Great video!
OEM all day
I have the console vault in my truck and it is not worth the cost...not in the least. I wouldn't trust that PoS to protect anything I value more than a dollar.
Good choice on gettin it installed bud.
Does the Tuffy fit under the jumper seat f150’s?
Only like u see here pal...
Good video, but I keep my little buddy under the steering wheel, if needed I can get to it faster then trying to get into the safe. Thanks for sharing ARod
I got a p1558 is it something to be concerned about?
Maybe
Does the 4 digit combination lock fits the Tuffy safe?
Si
Use the 4 code better then, is going to be harder for an intruder. 👍🏼
I have the ford console vault but I’m going to modify it, making it sit lower in the console to be able to use the tray that came with the truck.
I don’t like the small door but I like the spring opening on it and the 4 code combination.
Pretty slick! I like the tuffy!
How much for the Ford one?
Was 330 new
I'm using the Ford safe. Absolutely love it
I likes the tuffy way better
these so-called vaults are so chintzy looking, that a small pry bar or a decent straight blade screw driver could easily pry open. Does anyone make an actual, real, fully enclosed, pry-proof sturdy safe, or are they all just cheap dime-store locking mechanisms that you'd find on the cheapest tool boxes with nothing more than a tin door to masquerade as a console 'safe'? So far everything that I've found on the market for consoles at least, are just laughable, and certainly nothing I'd want to lock my $1,000+ firearm in.
Ur silly if you think there is one out there that your describing....
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod well, so far I've found the Titan Security Systems safes, which are looking pretty promising... looks very burly and well engineered, doesn't have open seams that can easily be pried open like the rest of the junk out there, doesn't use the laughable combination locks that these other ones use... it's not pretty, is basically a burly ammo box, so so far it's the only one that shows some promise compared to the rest of these Suzy Homemaker 'vaults'.
I went to the Tuffy site above and it didn’t show anything for the 1997 F350 7.3?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
