It’s oil. You can use any fat. Press is on very low flame. Press should medium hot.. just not too hot. When hot after pressing the roti comes off easily.
Hi mam i use the victoria press..why does my dough shrink back after pressing..i tried so many times.please help as i paid very expensively for the press.
If the press is hot then the pressed roti will not shrink because at the same time it is getting cooked. I have kept my press on burner with low flame. After taking out the roti from press I close the press so that both the plates are heated.Make sure the press is not very hot. This needs a little bit of judgment.
Hi I'm having the same problem with the victoria press..I looked at so many videos😢it is expensive but the dough shrinks back..please help..I use cake flour and boiling water as for roti recipe
Please sharevWhich brand tortilla maker u r using as its handle look sturdy?
UNO CASA. I don’t have to press hard as the dough is soft. Just for 2-3 secs keep a steady pressure enough to roll the dough
Is that oil? Butter?
Is the press on heat?

Do you really need oil/ butter
On press I think it’s needed as dough doesn’t stick and comes off easily.
