Hi Friends Happy MONDAY!
Hope you are having a wonderful day so far. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to you guys for always being here and supporting what I do over here in Bailey land, it really means more than you know, truly. I love and appreciate you guys SO MUCH and was so happy when LOUD Lacquer reached out to me and asked if I wanted to Collab. I really hope you like the 4 nail polishes I created and hope to be seeing you rock some Bailey inspired color on your nails. The collection is limited edition and just in time for the holidays. As far as todays story goes, welp. Andrei Romanovich Chikatilo was…wow. No words, really. RIP to all the victims taken by this horrible human being. Its so sad and AWFUL.

I was really little when my Dad decided to watch this with me. (Idk what he was thinking) It was pretty traumatizing but made me a very cautious little girl.

I actually know someone who escaped Chikatilo. She was a little girl who was going to visit her friend and half way though she met him, he wanted her to go with him to "get lots of candy" but she refused and ran. She was running and screaming and then met some people and Chikatilo ran away. Years later she saw him on TV when he got caught. Scary

I was able to get these colors 2 years ago, but I don't think they are on the market anymore. She did 2 sets over the years and I found one through ebay a year ago or so.
I grew up during that time over there. I remember my mom holding my hand extra hard at train stations.
Truly a caring mother, the thought of losing you by his hands probably made her sick to her stomach.
Probably where he grabbed a few of his victims from, especially the minors.

I LOVE true crime stories. I’ve been struggling listening to them because they get so upsetting but she tells it in a manner that’s calming and makes me interested
emily henry so many of the RUclips true crime community try to tell it in a “spooky story” manner or in just a super somber way. But I’ve found baileys mannerisms and way of telling these stories is like a casual conversation between friends. She’s just so casual in her manner it takes a lot of the sad/creep/scary factor out and just leaves an interesting story

You should check out the "Macdonald triad" theory, basically this triad consists of animal cruelty, constant bedwetting and obsessive fire-setting in the persons childhood. Mostly the outcome of abuse or trauma. Although it's rare to see all three at once, mostly only two 😊

June 2024: I've finished everything new and here i am trying to find any stories i haven't watched yet 🤣 I need more content girl
I wrote a psychology paper on this guy a few years ago and I remember reading about how his mother would tell him about the older brother being eaten, and this became sort of a fantasy/fetish for Andrei. This explained why he would eat the organs of some of his victims.
His mother would also threaten to let him get eaten when he misbehaved as a child which was a major factor in it all.
There are two factors behind such threats. One, they are quite common in Slav culture - I'm from Poland and still being eaten by a witch as a punishment for misbehaving was rather common for parents to use when dealing with naughty children. Second, the famine Bailey mentioned was so terrible, that people were forced to eat dead bodies to survive. Most probably Andrei's parents either witnessed act of such cannibalism or at least heard of them.

i’m ukrainian and i watched a documentary about how when ukrainian people were forced to give up all their food and were left to starve they started eating grass, dogs/cats, and they would kidnap neighbors children and eat them, so for me it’s not hard to believe that what the mother was saying about his older brother is true
