Absolutely amazing ! So impressed with you both for doing that treck ! I’m really surprised by how many people are out and about and visiting these remote places !
Alfred …you are just amazing with your fixes ! So bad that the caravan makers are so ridiculous with their warranty repair rules and regulations….I will make sure to pass on to anyone interested in purchasing an off road van to stay away from Crusader your manufacturer is really shocking !
Oh dear… I am amazed at your calmness in explaining the issues you have had! I’m not sure I would be as polite 🤣 Fingers crossed that there are no further glitches 🤞🤞🤞
Crusader have a lot to answer for and particularly Lewis RV . The issues list is quite long and it’s called an off-road van that the manager came up with after trips to sell as a top unit that was extremely capable . It’s an expensive van to boot so it has put me off completely now after years of looking at them as we thought they are not built to standard of some other off-road vans . VERY disappointing for a large well known company to have this be the case and offer minimal assistance as well. And the fact that they suggested seeking assistance from others for faults and bad workmanship astounds me . Looks like I stick to the other brand thanks to your honesty . Will cont to watch your adventures for updates and info . 😎
@@darlineainsworth1460 I have to agree. It has the potential to be a really good van if there was more attention to detail, especially when they use external contractors to fit out critical parts of the van. Ultimately the responsibility is with Crusader and it’s dealers.
Hi Alfred. I’ve had the same problem with the fridge door and microwave in my Hurricane. How are you going about replacement? Are you waiting till you get to a capital city? I’m in Broome and caravan repairer has closed for the season.
@@karenmc9298 dig up your owners file and send NCE an email and they will respond and tell you what to do they sent me out a replacement inside of a week. I replaced it myself and secured it to stop it from bouncing around, have my fingers crossed but so far so good. Fridge, I will wait and get a dealer to sort it when I am over East.
@@Hapi2bpba considering that we have been on the road now for 16 weeks starting 2 weeks after delivery, I think the van has been pretty darn good. Yes we have had issues, but all are easy fixes, the type of issues that any van would have. Yes the factory needs to check their contractors work but the van itself has been great. On the Gibb we saw several top end vans on flatbeds being hauled out, at least we have driven ours out.
Plus all the screws in the drawers and cupboards came loose and stripped the wood. Thinking about using a nut and bolt through, a bit ugly but should work

Good thing, that you can make things work. Imagine a traveller having problems, and not being able to fix things on the go!
Yes lucky these items were fixable!

We had a latch retainer break too, getting the metal ones in the next few days.

@@TinyOnTour-bm7td Thanks Alfred. Much appreciated
Glad I decided on a Van Cruiser rather than the Hurricane

The gib is known as the caravan killer. But in your case, I'm sure YOU VAN IS NOT UP TO THE STANDARD of a off road van. Shame on the manufacturer.
@@TinpotTravellers when I am done with it, it will be, but I shouldn’t have to be the one doing it as it cost a pretty penny.
