I'm an old white country boy and this song was popular when I was in high school. I have NO problem admitting that this is one of my all time favorites and I can sing it word for word!!!!! And no my comment has nothing to do with race just saying that great music doesn't see color or have boundaries!!
This is back when MUSICIANS PLAYED LIVE INSTRUMENTS AND SINGERS SANG LEAD AND BACKGOUNDS LIVE WITHOUT USING TRACKS LIKE MOST ARTIST DO TODAY! Also when they got rid of bands originality in music was lost!
I'm so glad my older brothers took me to see LTD in 1977. I was only 10 yrs old, but it was the best concert I ever attended. #oldschoolmusic #capitalcentre #largomaryland 🎤🎵😊
Fell in love with Jeffrey when LTD opened for the Jacksons in 1979. Have seen Jeffrey live in concert over 12 since then. As long as he tours, I’ll be in the audience. He is absolutely phenomenal.
Just saw Jeffery this weekend at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta. I'm in my late 40's and my parents played LTD and Jeffey's solo albums when I was coming up. Too see him live ...mannnnn...the energy was banana's.. He is 73 and can blow these youngers cats at the water today.. Stage presence is bananas, voice is STRONG and CRYSTAL CLEAR. Energy is like he is 20 and performance wise..he commands your attention.
Wow whoever posted this video of the legendary R&B funk soul group LTD they deserve a Grammy just for having class and good taste for music that was a very young Jeffrey Osborne an LTD at the very best 🤜🏽🎶🤛🏽
Classic song. I never understood why they called Johnny Gill little Luther in the beginning when it's obvious Jeffery Osborne was his influence and also his godfather.
That ain't no lip syncin', ladies and gentlemen!! That's what hours upon hours of hard work will get you! One of my favorite bands from my childhood; featuring Jeffrey Osborne, who is one of the greatest crooners of any generation! Thanks for sharing this rare and amazing footage!
I saw Jeffrey Osborne last night at Rivers Casino in Philly, and he still got it. And he was very good. He sung up and down the aisles. 74 and still got it.
I remember seeing this on TV when it aired on Don kirshner's Rock concert. We used to stay up late to watch it. All the singers sang live! Linda Clifford and Donna Summer where some of the guests on this program.😀 God i miss the seventies!😩
Yo Steph . . . much respect to ya sis! 👍 You were the only 1 on this link to give props to Don Kirshner (the man with the plastic-looking hair at the outset of this clip) and his superlative late night show! Because if you hadn't --- I was gonna do it! But dang girl --- you gotta be old! 😅 Because I had a hard time. . . back-in-the-day, staying awake on the weekend to watch this stuff after the late news and all that other mess before it came on! -smile- Because I was just a 'pup' in those days . . . but much love to ya kid! #respect #each1teach1 #facts
My first time seeing this excellent live performance considering Jeffrey Osborne is my favorite male singer. Growing up back then i had no clue how special the 60s/70s would be, 80s & 90s too.
I did not have the pleasure of seeing LTD in live concert. but I saw Jeffery Osborne live and up close about 14 years ago. He put on an amazing show! .
The first Jeffrey Osborne song I ever heard and still my favorite 40+ years later. LTD wasn’t messin’ around! They took no prisoners! Horns steppin’ and blowin’ like the finest HBCU marching bands! Tight-ass rhythm section, and tight vocals, too! That’s how it used to be!
At 3:30 the horns line up behind Jeffrey and place an arm on each others shoulders, that is some slick showman type shit! I saw LTD open up for the O'Jays and The Commodores at Madison Square Garden. They represented mightily!
was Lionel Ritchie with the Commodores at that concert you saw at MSG. That would have been a really bad ass, triple bill. btw…the brass players peel off of their hands on shoulders line up one at a time in a pirouette, keeping their feet to the beat. As you say, showmanship at its best.
I saw a similar set up. Evelyn King,Commodores,LTD, Jacksons. Early 1980. I was only 6 but will never forget it. I will say that besides MJ. LTD stole this Show. Amazing Sound
I just love taking a trip back down memory lane. Because, you can NEVER EVER go wrong listening or dancing to such a legendary & awesome group like LTD. 😘❤👏🌹😍🌈
LTD are awesome but for some reason in my country we only knew about the Commadores ,3 times a Lady etc. LTD songs "Where did we go wrong" ,"Love Ballad" are so special and memorable!
I saw Jeffrey Osborn live in DC 40 years ago and he was mesmerizing. So powerful and sexy. What a voice. Just gave it all in his performance. I still remember it vividly.
I remember seeing LTD in Denver at the coliseum. The power went out and Jeffrey kept singing..you could hear him clearly ....without a microphone..he is amazing!!!
It was another time and another place coming out this 60s and almost the end of the 1970s and that young cat out in front with that voice was the Patrick Mahomes of that microphone you damn well better no it his name was Jeffrey Osborne and still is today the songs on a lot of their albums still resignate today the collaborations and the put together of the music yeah I said it the utmost brilliance when you holding on and love is gone who are you kidding you can bet your bottom dollar he took it to another level it just had to be done I'm back in love again come on now Thunderbirds Mark 5s huge beautiful cars back then any dealership had one but I know they were not about an automobile it was love togetherness and devotion LT😪❤❤❤❤❤ how far is 1978 from today and Chaka Khan release the first I'm Every Woman and Betty Wright with that signature song I'm going to leave nameless I'll just let you figure it out a hint is it has the most wonderful eclectic put together of Music I've ever seen❤ and Jeffrey Osborne when y'all sing "concentrate" that song oh my God it takes separation to bring appreciation❤🥂🍦💎❤️🌹💯🥩 one of the baddest groups of the 70s
The REAL DEAL! 🙌🎶🎤🎺🎷🥁🎸 You got that right! "Ain't nothing like the real thing baby!" And Jeffrey Osborne is even more amazing! He's still performing at the age of 74. Hotter, sexier, with a voice that has gotten richer and sweeter with time!!! What a GIFT! 🎁 Thank God for the original "Boy Bands"! 🤗🙏👍
This performance let Jeffrey Osborne know that he was ready for Prime Time. He is a brilliant singer. Rarely misses a note. I had all of the LTD albums. Still have one of them.
Jeffrey Osborne was the man 💪✊I love this song I've never seen him look this young I found about LTD long after his Whoo Whoo Whoo Days , but I heard the song just didn't no it was his old group and I've been listening to them every since
I'm an old white country boy and this song was popular when I was in high school. I have NO problem admitting that this is one of my all time favorites and I can sing it word for word!!!!! One of the true voices of the 70s & 80s, no doubt about it.
No. LTD wasn't underrated. LTD was a bad group!!!!

No auto tune, no lip syncing just pure talent. Bring it back PLZ!!!!!!! He is one of the best!! I still listen to his music on a regular basis.
They live on in my memories from that time.
The days of black R&B singers and musical group are long gone and will never come back not in my life time.
And playing their own instruments too!
Miming
He’s still performing, sounds good and looking in great shape.
Sounds just like the studio version. 👍🏾🔥
Sounds waaay better this is LIVE!

Tight Horns, groovy ass bass, slamming Vocals by Mr. Osborne .

Same saw him in 2013. It’s was one of the best shows ever.
Cant wait to see him perform even at 73. 😊
I remember LTD in the 70s. A bad group. Sorry that this music had to come to an end. This sorry music today is annoying 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Them boys bad, i grew up on this in the 70's
Real musicians, real vocals, decent lyrics, true showmen. I miss those days.
LTD live......in their heyday is rare
One of few 70s singers who hasn’t lost his chops
LTD was never the same group after Jeffery Osborne left them

Amazing song. Amazing group. The unmistakable vocals of Jeffrey Osborne.
Costumes by LA designer Bill Whitten. He did the Commodores and Rose Royce also.
