I kinda find it endearing how cute and charming you think his father is. I've seen other reactors call him a loser and get irritated by how goofy and weak they find him. I'm sort of in the middle of those two takes, but I love that you you see what are supposed to be his flaws as positive traits. That's a sign of of an empathetic heart.
Christopher Lloyd is an icon for this role. He was 47 years old when he played Doc Brown for the first time, and doesn't look that different almost 40 years later (he played a villain in the Mandalorian last year, for crying out loud). Love this movie. Also, one of the few franchises where the second one surpasses the first in greatness.
@airborngmp1 , wasn't Lloyd's role in the old "Taxi" TV series his 'breakthrough'? He played a drugged-out cab driver in it, IIRC. Hilarious. Younger folks might remember him as Exec Producer on "Modern Family".
I don't think I have ever seen anyone enjoy watching Back To the Future more than Kamilla! The thing I was most impressed with is that she new what was going to happen next almost every time after an important scene.
its the twin pines (twin towers meme in NY) symbolized The Dog is God spelled backward.. Hes secretly a genius (the Dog).. symbols symbols symbols.... lol RIP so coded for death and (God too)
You failed to mention Jennifer. She was a time traveler too, even though she was unconscious 99% of the time. Near the end, she was unconscious for 14 straight hours.
fun fact, during the band adition near the start of the movie the teacher with the bullhorn who stood up and said "your just too darn loud" was actually Heuy Lewis who was the guy who actualy sung the song they were playing "the power of love" which you heard a few times throughout the movie
He wrote and started performing the song in 1955. It took him 3 years to get around to doing a proper studio recording of it. The original lyrics were semi-autobiographical, but he changed some lyrics. Originally, it was "a colored boy named Johnny B. Goode", but changed it to "country boy" in hopes of getting radio play. Berry's address when he was born was 2520 Goode Ave., in St. Louis.
This is one of the major plot holes that doesn't make sense but it is one of the rare cases in cinema I'm like 🤷🏾♂️ ok. The Mayor Goldie Wilson thing might be an even bigger plot hole.
Small detail, but when Marty leaves 1985 to go back to 1955 he and Doc at at the "Twin Pines Mall". Marty arrives in 1955 in a big open field that has two pine trees -- and Marty destroys one of the pine trees. When Marty returns to 1985, he returns to the "Lone Pine Mall".
1. Cranky principal Strickland/James Tolkan also played the ship's squadron leader in "Top Gun". 2. The teacher that tells Marty, "Hold it fellas, I'm afraid you're just too darn loud" is Huey Lewis himself. "Heart of rock and roll" etc. 3. Eric Stoltz was first cast as Marty, but he didn't play well with others and wasn't giving the tone they were looking for. fired. Some of his long shots are still in the movie. 4. The flammable material set on fire with the model exercise had to have been put there on purpose. Movie magic. 5. It's always fun to see how people react to the Marty and his mom car scene. 6. George McFly/Crispin Glover didn't like that the story ended with the family being prosperous. DA🙄 7. Twin Pines Mall becomes Lone Pine Mall when Marty takes one out when he goes back to 1955. 8. IMVHO part II is my favorite of the trifecta. 9. If you want a first time/share of an OUTSTANDING movie where Christopher Lloyd plays the heavy you must do "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
I'll always love this one. I was in high school when it released and Marty's Mom was probably my biggest ever celebrity crush. Lea Thompson was the quintessential 80s girl.
One of the greatest movies ever made. The screenplay alone is a work of precision genius. The two sequels are very good too but this original is a stone cold classic and a perfect film.
One of the top 10 American movies ever made. I think I've watched the movie dozens of times. It never gets old. Perfect script. Perfect cast. Perfect soundtrack
Saw this in the cinema in 1985 it was unbelievable at the time. Such a fun movie. Your 1st time reaction took me back to how I felt seeing it then. Great reaction vid. Hope you do number 2 soon.
This is one of the best movie reviews I've watched. I was 16 in 1985 and my best friend and I snuck into the theater to watch this movie. Seeing your reactions and enthusiasm brought me back to that day 39 years ago. Time flies, but the memories never fade. The 80's was a great time to be young and alive. I can't wait to see the rest of your Back to the Future video reactions. 😊
I saw that the actor who played Biff is actually a great comedian, he actually wrote a song about this movie and always getting asked questions, Tim Wilson, Stop Asking me the Questions.
I watched this a bunch as a kid in the 90s and after m'lady and I had been together for a few years I found out that she'd NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE, and she was born in 1990! I couldn't believe she'd never seen it, so I showed her the whole trilogy and she loved it. It's one of the few instances of a film trilogy where I feel like all of the movies are equally good. The first one isn't the best, they're all the best. Even the third film which ... I won't spoil it ... takes an unpredictable turn, is awesome too! :D I'm so glad you got to finally see this classic Kamilla :]
Every time RUclips recommends a BTTF reaction to me, I'm so tempted to click, JUST to see if this classic holds up for new viewers. And EVERY TIME IT DOES, LOL!!! Some classics really are classic for a reason!!! Great fun!!!
“Daddy-O” is 1950’s American slang language. It means generally a cool man. Marty substitutes “Daddy-O” for “Dad” because he realizes that it would be weird to younger George for Marty to call him “Dad.”
If you didn’t notice that guy at the beginning with the megaphone that told him that he was too loud was Huey Lewis the guy who originally wrote and recorded that song
BTTF is my all-time favorite childhood movie. It came out when I was just 6. I remember seeing the original trailer and wanting to watch it so bad! I literally have a DeLorean model car at my desk at work. BTW, you’re quite intelligent, picking up on all the details and the constituents of the movie. Love your reactions to the amazing classic. Thanks 👍👍
@ 27:21 before the cassette got played. Van Halen as a group wanted no part of this movie. Eddie Van Halen wanted to do it. That's why the cassette had Edward Van Halen specifically. 😊
A few people have mentioned that the "you're just too darn loud" guy is the original singer of the song that they were jamming, but what people don't seem to know is that the other guys in Marty's band are the band that originally performed the song. Yes, Huey Lewis was telling his own band The News that they were too loud.
And the Guy sitting next to Huey, is Eric Stoltz, who was originally cast as Marty and after shooting scenes they realized he wasn't right for the part so they Re-Approched Michael and TV show "Family Ties" Staff/Network about casting Him as Marty......
Remembering that this movie was made in 1985 ..... its so advanced with the inventions in Doc's house and everything else .... such a great movie for the year and future years!! as we are watching this in 2024 almost 40 yrs later and still a great movie to watch in this year!!
You follow the story so well. Its so annoying when people have no idea whats going on 😭 lol This is such a classic. I was 9 years old when it came out 👶 lol
The actress who plays Marty's girlfriend, Claudia Wells, owns a men's clothing store on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. I've had the privilege to meet her. She's very sweet & bubbly.
I've never seen a vending machine that vends GLASS bottles. It was probably a refrigerator with a regular swing door. It probably wasn't a vending machine. The bottle opener was probably attached to the side of the refrigerator. Just a guess. I wasn't alive in the 50's.
@plawes2237 they definitely had vending machines with glass bottles. Then they had tin cans and then aluminum cans. You put in your coins, then opened the door and pulled out the bottle you wanted. You could only pull out one. The mechanism would release the bottle you pull on. If you tried to pull more than one out at the same time, it wouldn't release any bottle.
This reaction was so much fun. Your seeing Marty's dad in the coffee shop and realizing who it was... that was awesome. Set the tone for the rest of the movie. :)
Yep this one is different and special. This movie will live in your head for a while as will the others. And it was a blast to work on part2 as you can see from my profile pic lol!
*You were right when you said "this is perfect."* From what I understand, this is still taught in many film schools as being the perfect script, from beginning, middle to end. Hits all the right notes. This is the main reason it is so well loved by everyone who sees it for the first time - no matter who they are. My enjoyment of seeing these reaction videos to the movies that made us Gen X bunch, and made a definitive cultural impact, is a very warm feeling. I just wish modern movie producers would stop a moment, look back at these movies and understand why they were just so successful and make _original_ productions based on these... well, philosophies.
@@makaveli201071obviously they’re not saying that, but let’s face it: the endless remakes, reboots, and comic book movies have grown tired and there’s a lot less experimentation in Hollywood than there used to be.
@@ukozi This. The biggest problem is that there are too many in Hollywood that have been elevated to positions they should not have been, without merit, displacing many with a huge wealth of experience, and that's causing a massive problem. Disney in particular is one of the biggest problems right now.
One of my favorite time travel movies of all time and all three parts are free on RUclips. I love how they keep calling his jacket a life preserver. 🤣😂
It is arguable probably the best trilogy ever made, with the first being just perfect. There are so many small details you can discover the 2nd, 3rd or even 10th time you watch it. I still remember when I watched it for the first time, probably around 1986.
The most beautiful thing about this video reaction is your expression of happiness during the entire movie. Just remember to pay attention to the movie. There are clues that are hard to realize they are clues until you watch the movie a 2nd and 3rd and 4th.... times.
Back to the Future is an all-time classic! One of my favourite things about the series is how timeless it feels. It still chugs along at a blistering pace, and even though it's almost 40 years old, still feels as fresh as it ever has. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of watching it.
one fan theory I accept as headcanon is that George McFly is really a left-handed kid but was forced to use his right. This was fairly common and messed up a bunch of people. When he has to punch Biff he's using his left, which is his stronger hand. And afterwards he allowed himself to be a leftie, which helps since he's no longer holding back.
Yep. My sister was left handed, they tried to 'change her over' in the early 1970s! My dad went down to the school and read them the 'riot act' about it. Turned out he'd been forced to change hands in the late '40s, and was angry because, "..after that, I couldn't write with *either* hand.."
My honest reaction is that yours is the best reaction to this movie that I have seen so far. Back to the Future is my all-time favorite movie, for all the reasons you said in the reaction. It is fun, the acting is on point, the characters are likeable, the story is clever, it's completely re-watchable.... and did I say it was fun? One reason I watch reaction videos is to see how someone else responds to a favorite of mine, and sometimes you get let down. My favorite reactor watched this movie and only had an okay reaction to it, which was disappointing. However, your reaction is exactly the type of reaction I wanted to see; someone who appreciated all the great moments in the film and expressed great excitement in those moments. I had a good time watching this reaction. Thanks! Yes, continue the series. It's all good, but parts 2 and 3 do not measure up to the first one. Still worth it though.
It seems strange to me that Lorraine would ask, "Marty, will we ever see you again?" because he's just the new kid at school as far as they know, right?
I believe that the DeLorean always failing to start was also a reference to that fact that when the DeLoreans were originally manufactured, they may have looked cool as hell, they were absolute pieces of shit. They made much better decorations than vehicles.
I just LOVE your smile and laugh!! Trust me.. all 3 movies will have you smiling and laughing!! Best Trilogy EVER!! :) Great reaction as always!! ❤ Can't wait for you reaction to the next 2.. you will LOVE this trilogy!! Hope you watch ASAP! lol 😊
I'm 57, and soaked up the 1980's!!! It was the best decade of my life. Even the nice transitional 90's can't touch the 80's... Though a somewhat close 2nd place! Great movies, great times and with a wonderful conclusion to the decade globally.
i love seeing people watching movies I grew up with as a kid in the 80's for the first time, and seeing how much they also enjoy them. this is considered a classic at this point with my generation. :)
Its amazing how almost no one watching this film on youtube recognizes that the man in charge of talent competition in the beginning of the film is actually Huey Lewis who sings the power of love song in the beginning of the movie.
I love that obvious joke. "David, watch your mouth. Now come here and kiss your mother before you go." Clearly a "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" setup.
Marty Mcfly’s advice about George and Lorraine going easy on their kid if he/she accidentally sets fire to the living room rug evokes memory of my own childhood. I vaguely remember me around 3 years old playing with matches and accidentally setting fire to the hall couch. The fire 🔥 started small but then as it consumed more couch material, it grew bigger and bigger and I was fascinated, transfixed by this phenomenon. Any longer and the whole hall might have been burning but luckily my mum saw it and promptly smothered the fire with a thick blanket. I was grateful to her for putting it out and for not smacking me for being mischievous
Biff totally screwed up of another 1950's saying "Make like a tree and get out of here" is supposed to be "Make like a tree and leaf" [for the word "leave"...lol]. Those who do not know the correct saying often say "What?!" making those of us who do laugh even harder. Also hope you will get into some much older classic movies like Rebel Without a Cause 1955, Casablanca 1942-43, , A Hard Day's Night [ the Beatles 1964], Singing in the Rain 1952, soooo many more. Even the 1930's, I love a couple of those starring the very cute Joan Blondell "Goodbye Again"[1933] and "Union Depot" [1932]. Joan was a much better actress than she was ever given credit for...
I enjoy watching reactions of oldies. But you killed it! Didn’t miss a beat. You caught all the references, repercussions, chaotic consequences in real time. Bravo 👏👏 👏
Biff actually is an American name. The word originally came from a slang term "to hit" or"punch", and was a nickname for a tough man, It gained popularity as Willy Loman's eldest son in the Arthur Miller play, Death of a Salesman.
Fun fact the actor who said Marty's band was just to loud is actually Hewie Louis who is the singer that originally performed the song "The Power of Love". The song that Marty was playing. Hewie Louis and his band had several of their songs used in the sound tracks for the Back to the Future movies.
Loved your reaction to this! It has been fun rewatching for the "first time" with you. This movie was a huge moment in time. It almost did not get made as you see it now. There was another lead actor but they fired him and hired Michael J. Fox. The problem with that was he was on a popular TV show and the producers refused to let him take a break from that. So if you notice, most of the scenes in this movie are at night. That's because Fox worked during the day on the TV show and at night on the movie. It was not until after the TV series ended that when they started talking about doing a sequel. You have to watch part 2 and part 3. They are awesome. Thanks again for reacting to one of the movies I grew up on and consider a favorite and a classic.
Pro tip, the dad, had a major issue with his character, and ideas and other things. So everyone not only fired him but used a stunt double, practical effects and CGI for 2-3. He couldn't work for 20 years, was blacklisted, broke, everything. But he never gave up. He sued and sued and sued....and finally won! Crispin Glover changed Hollywood and he deserves a hand! I think the first gig he got after working again, was a small part in the hillarious riot, Hot Tub Time Machine!
Pretty much none of that is true. He didn’t work on 2 out of his own choosing, and obviously not 3 and did sue for them using his likeness in 2. But he worked steadily after BTTF. He was in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Charlies’ Angels (both of them), Twister, Wild at Heart, The Doors, Rivers Edge, etc. before Hot Tub Time Machine.
@@dnish6673 yes, he did work...some...but if u don't think the heavies from this production and studio, didn't throw their weight around against him, knowing what they could lose, in future films by not being able to use doubles robotics likenesses CGI etc , of a person, without paying, ur incredibly naive'.
I saw this in the theater twice, have the vcr tape, never get tired of this movie. Brings me back to high school 1982 to 1986. ❤❤. Those were fun times

I'm sort of in the middle of those two takes, but I love that you you see what are supposed to be his flaws as positive traits. That's a sign of of an empathetic heart.
The goofy and weak is what makes him relatable to boys, which I think is their target audience.
Boys like Marty. Not George.
Weak men are hot today. It’s called woke
So he was 37 in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He does look younger in that one
@@vancelubben5300 Yeah, he only looked like a 40 year old man in that one...

Almost like it's not her first time seeing it at all 🤔
You're the first and only reactor that found George McFly to be loveable. Subscribed! I can hardly wait for your reactions to the next 2 sequels.
The actor Crispin Glover is always seen with beautiful women. Facts.
He is kind of loveable tbh. The goofy awkward laugh especially!

Everyone loves Back To The Future.
The movie about time travelling is actually timeless.

Marvin Berry's cousin Chuck released JOHNNIE B. GOODE three years later, in 1958.
Louis.
Yeah.
But I heard it was originally sung by somebody else. Like Calvin Something.
Was rumored to put on a crazy show.
@@Billinois78 Now we know "The REST of the Story!"
Marvin plagiarized Marty who covered future Marvin.
This is one of the major plot holes that doesn't make sense but it is one of the rare cases in cinema I'm like 🤷🏾♂️ ok. The Mayor Goldie Wilson thing might be an even bigger plot hole.
The moment Kamilla found out Marty was sitting next to his Dad back in 1955. 😮😮😮🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
This is one of my favorite sight gags in this film. It’s so subtle that most people never even notice it.

Saw this in the cinema in 1985 it was unbelievable at the time. Such a fun movie. Your 1st time reaction took me back to how I felt seeing it then. Great reaction vid. Hope you do number 2 soon.
Yes it was very awesome to see her happy reaction :-), Back to the Future is a masterpiece
I'm so glad you got to finally see this classic Kamilla :]
Marty substitutes “Daddy-O” for “Dad” because he realizes that it would be weird to younger George for Marty to call him “Dad.”
most genuine reaction chanel on youtube,im loving it!

If you didn’t notice that guy at the beginning with the megaphone that told him that he was too loud was Huey Lewis the guy who originally wrote and recorded that song
To top it off, the members of Marty's band are played by Lewis' band, The News.
I now Know the Truth!!
ive watched lots of reactions to this, and you're the first one to react (correctly) in outrage about the uncle in jail. cheers
Thanks 👍👍
Same. My all time favorite movie. I still get chills when I hear the soundtrack and the sound of the Delorian
Legitimately one of the most perfect films ever made.
Probably the most entertaining movie of the 80's. Never forget watching it at that time as a teen. Very nice reaction.

*You were right when you said "this is perfect."*
From what I understand, this is still taught in many film schools as being the perfect script, from beginning, middle to end.
Are you saying there are not new original movies being producer right now???
@@makaveli201071obviously they’re not saying that, but let’s face it: the endless remakes, reboots, and comic book movies have grown tired and there’s a lot less experimentation in Hollywood than there used to be.
@@ukozi This. The biggest problem is that there are too many in Hollywood that have been elevated to positions they should not have been, without merit, displacing many with a huge wealth of experience, and that's causing a massive problem. It is arguable probably the best trilogy ever made, with the first being just perfect. There are so many small details you can discover the 2nd, 3rd or even 10th time you watch it. I still remember when I watched it for the first time, probably around 1986.
Wow! I could tell you had fun watching this movie.
The most beautiful thing about this video reaction is your expression of happiness during the entire movie. Just remember to pay attention to the movie. There are clues that are hard to realize they are clues until you watch the movie a 2nd and 3rd and 4th.... times.
Wow. 40 years later, a fresh new Crispin Glover fan emerges. From Norway, of all places! Charming!
My dad was left handed but the nuns would whack him with a ruler when he wrote left handed. So the rest of his life he wrote right handed.
Yes she should've said, ok see you at school! 😀
Notice how the shopping mall at 39:40 that was Twin Pine Mall is now called Lone Pine Mall after Marty knocked one down as he left the farm

I believe that the DeLorean always failing to start was also a reference to that fact that when the DeLoreans were originally manufactured, they may have looked cool as hell, they were absolute pieces of shit. They made much better decorations than vehicles.
You’re right, they’re absolutely terrible cars
The co. had already gone bankrupt when the film was made, so it's one of the jokes.

OK, I’m now dying of alcohol poisoning because I took a drink every time someone said “That guy with the megaphone was Huey Lewis”.
The opening scene is still one of the most iconic and well shot introductions to a character and sets up the viewers expectations for the experience.
George was late to meet Marty and Lorraine because the bullies locked him inside a closet. The deleted scenes are also a must-see!

The two have a great chemistry Doc and Marty
M.J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd have remained friends.
Its amazing how almost no one watching this film on youtube recognizes that the man in charge of talent competition in the beginning of the film is actually Huey Lewis who sings the power of love song in the beginning of the movie.
I love that obvious joke. "David, watch your mouth. Now come here and kiss your mother before you go."
Clearly a "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" setup.

“Look! There’s a rythmic ceremonial ritual coming up.” Some of the best lines in any movie ever are in these three masterpieces!
"Daddy-o" was a 1950's teenager kind of expression.
