You need to order your tops a size larger and the stripped top looks great on you.

What constitutes a "regular" plus sized person? We all have different needs. I'm much smaller than Kandy but have my own set of issues. Don't be rude.
I understand your dilemma. I am a 6x. I have been buying all my clothing online for over 20years. I go to a clothing charity event that's held once a year in Oakland ca. Its worth the drive. I buy from men's catalogs ( kingssize direct). I am a very savy shopper. I recently bought 10 cotton panties for 35$. Fullbeauty was having a 50% off sale. Though I have to buy my Jean's full $$. Universal standard 90$ worth every penny. Try "Soncy" [I bought a jacket for 10$, great quality, comes from China, so you have to wash the smell out). Try "Smart Glamour " they go up to a 15x. Though these are small Independent co. They make quality clothing.

May I suggest ordering from Catherine's. Once, you discover the right size with Catherine's you can order and get a better fit...Catherine's tops are longer, which I am most happy with. Also,most poor quality clothes seem to never have shoulder pads. I have a pair of pads made just for me, I put them into clothes that need a pad...this makes most garment look better on me. I like the green dress on you, but I think you would love the cranberry dress just like the green...better fabric and it doesn't stick on the body...
Actually Catherine's are closing their stores. Yes, the situation is sucky.
Lining makes all the difference to the cut of a garment especially a dress like the one chosen. Stretch always makes them look less classy because the stretch becomes baggy. I think if I was your size I would be looking for a dressmaker. The dress and the top you chose is the best of the bunch xxx

Love you so much Kandy.. but I really think you need to size up one. The stripped shirt looked to fit you the best. The other items just looked to snug. Hope you and Brittany are having super, awesome time. Those getting to spend time with you guys at meet ups are so lucky!!!!!
…. and from my own personal experience when I was a size 30/32... if I sized up, things were not to short any longer.

I like the clothes. The DIA and what is it company I think the pieces are okay more on the basic side I just don't feel like subscribing into anything everu month. I rather just buy it online and then return it in 30 days if it don't fit. you could get the same pieces off of Torrid off of woman within and their prices are reasonable and you don't need a stylist for that and you don't need to pay every month just pick what you like if it fit great If It Don't Fit return it

Your better off google and searching stores online that carry 5x and have a good return policy. Because they seem pricey and if they charge you for the styling fee... that’s even more crazy expensive. The one that looked best was the stripped top

Hey Gal....I picked up a dress on Poshmark from ELLOS...they go to size 34. I don't know of you have ever tried them....They are pretty affordable. I was just checking out the site. And the dress I got...I'm in love. I wear it ALL THE TIME. Just thought I would mention it to ya! Hope you are enjoying your vaca.... Miss ya!

I live in France, just outside of Paris and there are two affordable shops I can get clothes at ( C&A and Damart), then there is an expensive shop on my high street, almost opposite the Damart branch. The Damart store goes up to a French 54/56 ( 30/32 in US sizes, I think) but does not often carry that size in store.
I don't tend to like the things in these boxes. They look cheap for what they charge. It ticks me off. It's like they are taking advantage of people like you who don't have a lot of options. "Here is a basic striped tshirt that you are willing to pay 30 bucks for when it would be 5 bucks at Walmart for people in standard sizes." Just. Ugh.

Yep, what happened to quality plus size clothes? I've been buying old stock and gently worn clothes from Silhouettes lately on Ebay and OMG, they are so nice! Linen, Indian cotton, wool blends, real suede and leather. All well made and lasting ages. I guess they couldn't compete with fast fashion.
I make a lot of my clothes or have them made for me now. And have a few independent plus size companies I'm good with the quality of. But I have all but stopped shopping at Torrid, Walmart, Target, Lane Bryant, and through the Roaman's and Woman Within catalogs. So much of the clothes are just junk. They're not going to last, they cycle from sweatshop to landfill within one season.
I'm really getting interested in the slow fashion movement, and using it as a jumping off point to curating and managing my own wardrobe.
Hey Kandy, maybe you know this but if you like longer tops I would tell your stylist that you like tunic length tops and that should sent her on the hunt for longer stuff. I also like longer stuff too and I know right now it’s frustrating because so many things are cropped! When I buy them bigger they get wider rather than longer. Annoying!

We are in the same size range...I think you are spending to much time with clothes that don't work. I get several piece made just for me from a seamtress. Then, I buy from Catherine's. The pants fit perfect, I buy the stretch knit jeans. The green dress needs to be one size larger....I have this same dress from Catherine's in a cranberry red, it is a better quality and a better cut for our size.

Shari Klein that’s what most people do if their clothes are too small. It’s like trying to stretch them. I’ve done it, but then if my clothes don’t fit, I get rid of them and opt for a larger size.

Check out Walmart. They have large sizes that are generously cut and wicked cute. Don't order them off line tho, go into store. Any way, good keeps from the box!
The dark blue and white striped shirt looks awesome! Normally I tend to steer clear of horizontal stripes but you have me eager to try them again! And yes, it is hard to find inexpensive plus size nice clothes, especially in stores. And that sucks!!

Have you ever considered having someone sew or alter clothes for you for you? For example, tops that are short could have a band added or be color blocked. There are miliiions of fabrics available and you would definitely find the perfect fabric to match. Most sewist could add a band in less than an hour.
I had to learn to sew bcause I am so tall. I know the disappointment of trying on clothes that do not fit in one way or another.
A sewist will take your measurements and make pieces that fit you perfectly. Sewing patterns today are gorgeous and you will end up with pieces that fit you perfectly. I can assure you that the fabric in most of this ready to wear would cost you less than 20 dollars and sometimes 10 dollars per garment, on sale. If you had to pay a sewist to make it, you would not be too much oevr the price you pay from ready to wear sites. I think you would be surprised how little sewists charge. You could also learn to sew yourself at some point (I know you are busy).

Great point! I think people need to educate themselves about fabric and measurements. And if you create a repore with a tailor or seamstress , in my experience they love the interest I have taken and worked with me. I am taking 2 pairs of Jean's in to get hemed and its 12$ each. But if I had understood what an inseam is. Lol, I wouldn't be paying $$.

I have found that dia clothes are awesome. I wear a mix of men's and womens clothes. I get cardigans and pants from dia and I get a 5x and you can rarely tell its womens clothes. Plus size mens clothes are even harder than women's to find and be comfortable in.

I think you made the right choices. the top was very flattering, and the dress will be very versatile. I know it's not your style, but if that peasant top was a little bigger, I think it would have worked well, such a beautiful design.
