I picked up an 88 Moto 4 350 to weeks ago for $500. Runs pretty good and overall is in good shape and complete. Previous owner said when he bought it about two years ago they key was missing so he ordered on of those cheap Amazon Chinese ignitions. I guess when he tried to install it he wasn't getting spark and couldn't figure it out. He ended up just wiring in an on/off toggle switch. I did some searching online and found a bunch of people having the same issues with the cheap ignitions and some people mentioned having to wire them differently. The one I ordered from Amazon will be here tomorrow I hope I can figure it out.
How do you know the switch is bad ? Bought a 80cc 4 moto and turn on if I push start or jump solenoid got it to work on the electric start but then the next day it no longer worked
Starter switch is bad if no click or does nothing or no start, double check battery first then run a screw driver or metal object across your starter to see if it spins and with key on if you can pull start it or push start if it has gears! You can bypass the push button if it starts its the switch!
@@WhitehouseFarmVet the one time I got it to turn on in the battery red positive terminal there’s a fuse all I did was I flip it and it worked(also had clean the switch since I know sometimes they get oxidized). The next day I tried it and it don’t didn’t work
