- FIRST TIME IN SABAH, BORNEO MALAYSIA! (I saw WILD orangutans!) 🇲🇾
In this vlog, I arrive in Sabah Borneo! Borneo is home to so many species of incredible wildlife, but one creature many hope to see is of course the orangutan. My first stop on this trip is Sepilok in the Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo. Here you have the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, but before I made my way there I decided to go for a walk at the Rainforest Discovery Center. And man, oh man. I am glad I did. Hello wild orangutans!

It's amazing how the rainforest in Malaysia is a couple of million years older than Amazon, yet better preserved.

Palmolie.....lekker goedkoop en het zit echt overal in 🙁
Zo triest! Gelukkig zijn er nog mensen zoals jij die mensen bewust proberen te maken! 🥰
Ja helaas is dit onderwerp niet zo simpel... Palmolie is wel de "duurzaamste" olie die er is. Produceert het meeste olie op het minste grond, dus in vergelijking met zonnebloem of olijven olie is het dus de "betere" optie. Ook kapt Maleisië geen grond meer voor de palmolie en staan de plantages op grond dat al eerder gekapt was door Europeanen voor cacao, rubber etc. MAAR het is wel heftig om te zien hoe veel van Sabah palm olie grond is... in aankomende videos zal ik hier meer naar kijken!

@@talesofodyssey btw the oldest rainforest is daintree Queensland 180m years old, but Malaysia has the oldest tropical rainforest in the world. Amazon is 55m years old
