I'm watching these reviews because I just purchased one of these kayaks not having reverse in the drive may take a little getting used to but overall I believe I'll be pleased with my purchase... Thank u
Thanks for sharing icast footage! The Passport looks pretty smooth. I miss being able to kayak. Nate you are an asset to our sport. Great review and great video as always.
the 2023 gt drive is super smooth, the 12r kayak is light and fast and comfortable with a nice low seating position, low center of gravity, great primary stability, secondary so-so, get the upgrade rudder if you have wind or current, not stable enough to stand on, paddling is ok no more, the bow is bulbous and pops out of waves instead of cutting through, dryer ride but annoying repetitive hull splash on the way down if heading into waves, thinking of getting a revolution instead
Hello brother this was a nice review of the Hobie passport. Look like a very nice kayak man. I really like how it's big boy friendly and can hold my 300 lbs self & I'm 5'11 myself. I have been looking for a pedal drive kayak for a while now I just need to take those straps off the pedals and try to find me some wider pedals for my feet. I'm having a very hard time trying to find them. All the bike shop said they don't have none. Nate I have a question brother? Is icast open to the public? I've never been to one before and I would love to go there and demo The Kayaks one day. Where was this icast at? Thank you for sharing this video brother.
@@TheFishingMommy because i have big very very extremely wide feet that are sz15 6E wide with very chubby fat wide toes that are equally straight across making my foot very very wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. With my toes being so wide my foot keeps falling off the pedals because of them not being wide.
Hmm, this is the second Hobie video where they say the “R” series will be made in North America, but they won’t say exactly where. Hello? Where in North America? Is it a secret? Why are you saying “North America “?
Thanks for sharing this video. But wow! Dude from Hobie can’t tell you the weight of his kayak? Says he has not don his homework but he is at icast? Amazing how little professionalism is out there these days. WTF are they paying him for? Very sad reflection on Hobie.

Not sure about the forward only drive when fishing. Great review and video.

I’m curious why you think you would need wider pedals? The straps come right off.

@@mackjenkins7721 that would explain it!! I bet someone in a Hobie group on Facebook could 3D print something perfect for you!
My wife has a passport and loves it. The passport is a fast kayak
Awesome, it was pretty fast with me on it.
Nice review. Does anyone know the best aftermarket compact trolling motor for these.
I'd go with the propel electric motor
@briandibble2234 Thank-you.
Interesting. It's rated for 275lbs.
PFD....Fish on
