I want to update everyone watching about these cards. I used them last weekend at an Art Festival and they worked just like they were supposed too. The small "dot" had some trouble but I figured it out. You have to physically touch the phone with the card or the dot and that seems to work the best. Also to note, phones differ in placement of NFC as some are at the top of the phone and others at the bottom. iPhones that are older won't have NFC in them so you have to use the QR code and have them scan that instead. Hope this update helps everyone!
@@cooperdesaro4150 Hello, no they don't. You only need yours on the back of your phone. I personally went with cards because I thought what happens when I get a new phone or case etc.. The dot I use for my art shows on my table. Hope this helps.
cool, but how many links can you have on one card. I saw another card that has up to 28 links. Also is there a way to turn off certain links for people you just wanna give social networks to and or business.
@@MannishPB I'm not sure about the number of total links. I have 10 links on mine and there was still more room to add more. As far as I know you can't turn on or off certain ones just for certain people you meet. I believe you'd need to delete the link in order to do that. But you can just as easily direct them straight to your social media link of choice. That is just what I do.

Great review and tutorial, looking into ordering them for my freelance business and, thanks to your video, I think I'll be trying the Dot business card. Thanks!
SCAM! Buyer beware. Doesn’t work at all. Followed directions. No uploading at anyone else’s phone. Tried customer service. ZERO RESPONSE in four days now.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I made this a while back when they were brand new. So I was trying to be as thorough as possible about what they offer and how they work. It’s obviously dated now.
I like the dot itself, however, there is a but... I think the business card is much better to have all the time versus the dot itself. I can see the dot adhesive wearing off over time or needing a new case and lots of other issues arising from using it. The main thing for me and from my experience is this, not everyone has NFC on their phones or it sometimes doesn't work. Therefore, having the card that has the QR code on the back of it is super useful because even an older iPhone can scan a QR code. I hope this helps you in your decision.
I have the card but I tried to updated and It won’t update is there a way to update bec simply pressing edit it doesn’t update when I link it to other phones. Help please
Whenever you make changes to your account, like edit your profile or update a social media link you have to also hit the arrow at the top right. This saves the new information and thus update your other linked accounts. Let me know if this helps you.
It seems you're still answering questions here. I'm wondering if the downloaded contact card includes all your social media links AND, does it include the "notes" section of a contact card. I see the links on the Dot profile. Thanks for the video.
It includes all of my links whenever I have had someone download it. Although, I am not 100% sure on all Android devices. All new Android phones and devices it should. I’ve personally seen it. But again, I can’t be 100% sure for all of them. Hope this helps.
Not sure that sending a picture will work. However, I am sure that you should be able to send the dot card link to a person and they can connect with you that way.
I believe you are paying for the NFC capability of the card. The profiles are free. It is possible you are getting a free profile when you purchase the product. That I cannot be for certain about.
@@JarrodAmesPhotography with so many companies offering the exact same thing why did you select the dot? I am wondering because you seemed sincere in your feedback and I have wondered 🤔 why pick one company over the other if all things are equal. I await your reply, thanks
@@ChristopherCollinssr I've seen the other companies and they are relatively the same. Dot at the time was offering a great deal. I believe I mentioned it, that I got all 3 devices for the price of 2 at the time. I do wish I could customize the front of the card and I mentioned that as well. So if that is something you want then there are other companies that offer that but obviously the cost is more. For $20 per device and no recurring fees or setup fees I thought Dot was the best offer since like you said they're all basically the same. Now I'm not sure but I believe Dot has been around the longest. For me, at the end of the day it works and if the person's phone won't NFC connect the QR code will work. Hope this helps you, they have been great to use and I've gotten compliments on them.
@@JarrodAmesPhotography Thanks. I have found some companies that require you to purchase a product before you can make a profile and some that don't. I have a philosophy on this. I believe everyone should have a M.I.C.A.H. (My Internet Contact Address Hub) a custom web address and redirect that address to their profile. This will allow you to use any company for a profile because you will send people to your M.I.C.A.H.
@@JarrodAmesPhotography Your experience is similar to mine and so I created Qrpop.net I think it will help bridge the gap between nfc and qrcode. Qrpop is a nfc sticker with a qr code on it. If I want to separate my professional links from personal ones i.e. when I meet my friends and wanna share my social media pages ( FB,IG, etc) , it only shows them and not my LinkedIn, personal website, etc., but when I am at a professional venue, it shows my LinkedIn and/or other desired info, do I need an additional dot card or can I simply create two profiles and synch the card to the desired profile?
Ok, after doing some digging for you, what I could find is that you would need two separate cards. One card and account for your personal and one card and account for business. This way they are separated from each other. Good thing is that each card is only $20 and the accounts are free. Hope this helps.
@@RidionWolfblood Look into your settings and see if you need to turn nfc on. If you don’t see an NFC option then your phone doesn’t have the capability of near field communication. Then your only option is QR codes.

Hey quick question, my card stopped displaying my profile when someone opens the link. It is just a white screen in chrome or safari. What do you think is happening? Appreciate the help
I would try to reach out to Dot themselves. I have been using mine and haven’t had this issue come up. Make sure all your links are correct. I noticed if you copy and paste your links into your profile it sometimes doubles the link so like if you use Instagram mine was doing instagram.com/instagram.com/ then my link. Look at this first.
