ROQUE is obviously trying to weasel his way out of the question but PINKY won't let him. She wanted HR to make a categorical statement denouncing (or supporting) the termination of the accord. PW has put him in a very tight spot where if he does not denounce it, then he is showing himself to be spineless and unprincipled, without honor and excellence.
In the end, Roque's refusal to call out the DND's action is a good indication that he has lost any sense of honor and excellence, that he practically sold his soul to the devil and lost his integrity in the process.

No, mali ka. Arao's tweet is demanding them to denounce the DND decision, wag mu pagandahin ang tweet ni arao. Then pinky webb asked him if he is denouncing the decision and she went on saying "as a UP alumnus and former UP professor. She's not confirming nor asking for the reaction to the tweet but she is ASKING already. Denounce is too much of a word. HOWEver, roque responded by saying that both sides must talk first coz for him there's nothing wrong with accord considering that it has been running for 30 years without any problem. And he also mentioned that he is not duty-bound to anything arao has to say so he is not obliged to answer or comment on the tweet. He merely gave his position to the issue. So for webb to ask him again if he is denouncing the decision despite having given his first response is something he found to be unfair. And I can't blame him for that.

I studied in a state university, there was no problem seeing police and military in our campus. I do not see any problem about it. In fact, we feel more safe and secure. What makes UP and PUP more special and different from other state owned universities? People should instead ask the parents of state university students if they agree what DND has done. I don't agree that that was a necessary question in the first place, but I think Roque was quite over the top with his reaction. When Pinky said, "you are actually making a stand" means he is not being silent about it. She was actually helping him. Roque should have slowed down a bit.

Roque has a point. If Webb only asked, "What are your thoughts about the tweet?", then it would have been fine. But the question was "Are you denouncing this letter from Sec. Lorenzana", which implies that Arao's opinion that not doing so questions one's honor and excellence to be valid. She even repeated the question. She's clearly not asking Roque's opinion on what his opinion about his tweet is, but if he has enough honor and excellence to do Arao's demand of denouncing the letter. Kung i-Tagalog, "Oh sabi ni Arao, pag di mo daw dinenounce eh wala kang honor and excellence. Idedenounce mo ba?" Kesa sa "Eto yung sabi ni Arao. Ano opinyon mo sa challenge nya?" The former clearly has the expectation that the person will either conform or not, whereas the latter simply asks if the person thinks that there's merit to the challenge. For a truly unbiased reporting, the latter should have been used.
