I had also seen Shannon Green’s video on fodder and made a few flowers. Then I found your first two videos. Now I’ve loved all your videos, and yesterday, I made fodder for four hours just advertising mailers. Thanks for the inspiration! Hope to see more!
I have been loving this series. My parents have hundreds of National Geographics. I have been going through them and getting so much. I just take a few pages out of each magazine and then take them to the Art Resource Center where teachers and students can take them for free. They love them for collage.
I’ve started going g back to your older fodder videos and picking a single thing to practice on scrap paper. It helps me find out which shapes I can do without triggering hand spasms. Thanks so much for these videos.
@revCMF same here. after a serious desease & major surgery I've got problems with trembling, cramps & mobility over all, including my hands. So I love to do "small portions" that I can combine later. All the best to you 🌻
Debbie. Another great video. I did red circles in a few places on the trees to give it an effect that it was an apple tree. Your birds are simply stinkin cute. Thank you for sharing
What a great idea for the apples! I bet they turned out so cute. I'm glad you liked the birds Peggy. Thanks for leaving me a comment and letting me know. 🤗
You come up with some very neat ideas for making shapes to use in journals and things I’ve started looking at pictures in magazines and looking to see if I can cut them up to make flowers or trees enjoyed your series on making fodder❤ In some magazines I found there are ads but most of the page is a solid colour and they make neat flowers 🌺 and things
one more big fat thank you, dear Debbie 🌷 You really have an eye where to put your drawings down. I still need a lil practice 😉 I'll see what I still have here to snip around in it. Magazines have become so expensive over here that I hardly buy one anymore. But as sure as tomorrow will dawn a new day I have some laying around (collecting dust. Because I'm way quicker when it comes to crafting than doing my chores)
@@myvagabondstyle it might surprise you but we've got no yard sales & almost no thrift stores over here. & the few we have are very different from yours. I've never seen art supplies, yarn, fabrics, you name it there, let alone magazines. But I'll keep an eyes out for freebies...
This has been such an awesome series! 😊 When I looked into getting a copy of Sweet Paul and realized it was no longer an option, I found some fantastic images in cookbooks and gardening books at my local thrift shop to make fodder from. Only cost me a couple of dollars in total and the pages are a bit more sturdy than the magazines.
That's great. I'm so glad you are having such good luck at the thrift stores! So sad that they aren't making Sweet Paul anymore. It was such a beautiful magazine.
Hi. First time viewer. I love these simple drawings that anyone like me who draws worse than a toddler, can do. I have got to try these. TFS and inspiring.
Welcome 😊 I'm so happy you found my channel. Yes, most of these are pretty easy. If you find you are having a hard time with a certain one, try it several times, even switching pens can make a difference. Let me know how you do. 🥰
Debbie, another AWESome VIDEO 🌟🌟🌟🌟 I absolutely love all the fodder you made today, those birds are so darling and your newest trees, so fun. It's all great, so thank you so much for sharing your talents. I still think you have to be a good drawer 😂😂😂 hugs xo
Hi, Debbie A few years ago I bought a book off a bargain table. If anyone is interested there are lots of used copies available on Amazon ( a new one is pricey). The title is Draw, Doodle, Design. It is a book with a lot of Doodle prompts and examples. The pages are for you to draw or paint in. I didn't get into it before, but decided it would be a good place to record and practice all your doodles. Now I find I am enjoying some of the other prompts in the book. There are even 2 pages of fish shapes. You got me started. I was never a doodler as a child. I was a daydreamer. Loving this series. Your birds are not what I was expecting and they are incredibly cute. Nancy
Well that sounds like an interesting book Nancy. I'll have to take a look at it. I'm so glad you are loving the series and having fun with it. Thanks for the book recommendation 🤗
Last night and this morning, I made about 50 pieces of fodder. A great way to use up a plate of sweet potatoes or a full page ad of macaroni and cheese😂. At first I was horrified at my poor drawing skills, but once I cut them out, they were fine, especially since I lined them with gold and silver Posca pens. A perfect way to fill out the glue book pages that just need that one thing.
Hi Cheryl, yes the magic is when you cut them out. I have made so many wonky ones that I thought had no hope until I cut them out! Amazing. Thanks so much for watching. I'm so glad you are enjoying the fodder. 🤗
Thank you for these videos. I just discovered this series a few days ago and have been having so much fun making these! My friend gave me two huge stacks of her old Nat Geo magazines and there was SO much left over after I'd taken the pictures I wanted out of them. Now I've got a good way to use the rest and won't have to recycle them all! Of course, I'm already buried under the fodder I've been making, so I'm probably going to have to rein it in soon or start doing A LOT more collage...
The Nat Geos are great for so many types of collage projects. I love using them. You'll be happy you have all that fodder to choose from. It's so nice when you have so many good ones to choose from. Thanks for leaving me a comment and letting me know how you're doing 🤗
I did the same as another commenter. I spent at least 4 hours if not longer making flowers, leaves and twigs. They are so cute! My problem is when I start something like that, I don’t want to stop. I have a step by step drawing book of botanicals I got on Amazon. It breaks them down into 4-5 steps and there is space to practice at the bottom. I used that to make a bunch. I also have some Pattern books for animals, botanicals and borders and such. There are lots of places to look for line drawings to copy. Adult coloring books are good too. You are so right, it is amazing how they just magically change once you cut them out! Thanks for the videos.
I thought I was going to be most interested in the flower's, but i actually got a kick out of the Bird's 🥰🥰🥰 and more than once you put a smile on my face 😊 Thank you ❤❤❤
Have loved this series. I have finished my first card and mailed it off to a friend. I dressed one of my characters, did a table with a tablecloth, a vase and flower and a bird on the flower. Added a swag of leaves to balance the design. This is so much fun thank you for opening this door.
That's great that you got some Sweet Paul magazines! You are, so far the only one that has. What years did you get? Putting the stem later does seem like it might give you more opinions. Great idea.🤗
Sharpie paint pens are acrylic. Two styles, one brush tip the other sort of bullet. Limited colors but they don’t bleed and don’t need to be primed or pumped! Walmart price around $20 for a set of 12 colors. Michelson wants $29.99 for the same set.
Hey again... 😊 Crystal from The Bronx ❤ would you happen to have a Facebook page? Because I don't have Instagram, nor do I email 😳🤦♀️ I'm not computer savvy and actually only have had a Facebook account for maybe 5 year's straight; prior to that I've had 2 other pages where I lost all my info and was not able to get into my page, so I had to make a whole new account 😏🤦♀️

Thank you Diane!! 😊
I got a seed magazine in and have been making so many it's so fun. Thank you for sharing all of your designs
A seed catalog! What a great idea. Thanks for being here 🫶
I've been trying to use as much of a page as I can. This leads to some interesting shapes and coloring that looks great when done.
Kathy, Isn't it so fun when you use a page of something so odd and it makes a beautiful piece of fodder!

I found some old issues of Birds and Blooms and even. Hard cover book with heavier pages at Savers!
Even more spectacular fodder. I checked out the magazine and can't find it anywhere in the UK, it appears to be only available in the USA. Tfs xo
Just look for old cookbooks in used bookstores. I have found they work well also and the pages aren't as shiny so the ink will dry faster.
That's great Kathy. The matte finish pages are so nice to work on, aren't they.
Sorry to hear that Elizabeth, such a bummer. Maybe on ebay or etsy.
