When you did gather round did you stick with one unit at a time or alternate like two days science two days history? When did you start full history units? Did you do them early on or did you start them at a t a certain age or grade level?
Great questions! We started Gather Round when it first came out so we did one unit at a time. My son was in 5th grade when we started. We have alternated 2 units one time. We did Botany two days a week and Transportation the other two. It went pretty well. We now stick to just one unit at a time.
I'm new to this homeschool adventure. My 6th grader and I will be jumping in this fall. Would you recommend the Campfire program for the whole core curriculum (except math) or just the single units. Most reviews I see are for single units.
Welcome to the world of homeschooling. All of the units are single units with the exception of the learning to read program. On average, families complete 5-7 units a year. Most units will contain core connections, which allows you to hit all of your subjects.
My boys really wanna do this unit study. But I really want some physical copies. But the printing part is what overwhelms me. I don’t have a good printer for this much color. I have a bunch of little children. My oldest is 13 to read CVC words, although he is eight and then I have a six year old in kindergarten and I also have a two year old soon to be three, who is all into doing school. Any chance you’d want to sell your titanic unit? Or know of someone who would want to?
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife We tried using Canvas and got really lost in how to make a poster :P LOL i'm gonna have to find a tutorial on you tube haha. I'm back to watching this as we will be starting this in May. We just finished up Resurrection and hubby even got on board and enjoyed it :D
Great review as always :) I'm gonna have to go back into my downloads and see where I missed the game...I'll have to definitely print that off. Last year when we went to Pigeon Forge we went to the Titanic Museum and I brought home Titanicopoly and Titanic Matching game... I may be more excited about this unit than my kids LOL I've been a Titanic history nut for years. My grade 6 project was all on the titanic haha
This is the 1st one we’ve printed!!! My stepdad wanted to have a physical copy but my kids used their iPads!!! I love how you organised it!!! The game looks awesome!!! I’ve not heard of the game so either my kids are finding boring or aren’t playing it!!!
Looks interesting! Would this work just doing reading and discussions, or is the writing and drawing a big part of it? I guess we aren't big on crafts, and writing is not a favorite outside of language studies around here. 😂
My son doesn’t enjoy crafts or writing. We read the lesson and occasionally pick an activity to do. We really get a lot out of it just reading the lesson.
Can you tell me about the faith talk sections, please? I'd appreciate knowing if it is more general info like bible verses and basic bible/moral info, or does it get deeper into more doctrine? I'm learning id prefer doctrine to be left to me and the Bible bc it's so hard to know what may or may not conflict with beliefs before starting new curriculum. Thank you, id so appreciate your opinion. You have great info!
Great review, thank you! I have a 9th grader, but would like to do this with her as well as my 2 younger kids. She read the diary type book you read, earlier this year and really enjoyed it. Do you think you'll keep doing CC with your son next year? When he's in 9th grade?
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife Campfire Curriculum is looking really good, actually, for my highschooler. It's like I have a new understanding of it! Thank you again for this review! God bless you and your family this Christmas season!

Thanks a million!
I just noticed there’s also an audio to purchase along with the unit? Did you use the audio? Thanks ❤️
It hadn’t came out yet when we did the unit. I have heard that it’s amazing.
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife is it a sort of audiobook or the Teacher Guide in audio? Thanks ❤️
@@fabiolajustice4460 it is the Teachers Guide in audio.
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife thank you!!!
A fellow mom with only 1 son?! Same here!! Found out about Campfire Curriculums today - obsessed for sure!
We love Campfire! It’s rare to find homeschooling families with an only child.
Thanks for sharing all the extras and the way you set it up.
No problem. I hope it was helpful.
Loved this thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you so much for watching.

Due to copyright, I wouldn’t be able to sell a pdf.
Hi there- you mentioned your son made a poster on Canvas. Is this a free app that can be used to make posters digitally? Curious 🤔
It does have a free option. I pay for Canva Pro, but you can still do a lot for free.

@@globetrecker84 I’m sorry it was confusing. I love that your husband got involved. That is great. You guys are going to love the Titanic unit.

This looks so good cant wait to get to this one, We are working on the weather one now but the zoo one is next (kids decide what we do with CC)
We are going to start Zoologist after Christmas I think b
I love this! We are going to do this with our 5th grader next year. Do you think it would hold a 6 year Old's attention any?
The Early Learner will have some great learning opportunities for that age group.

It is more general, and it would be okay to skip if you wanted to.
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife I would definitely want to include it if I can, I'm running into doctrine issues in my current curriculum. Thank you!

I really want to use this for a co-op class! Would be so fun to do a lot of the projects together 😍
It would be perfect for a co-op.
Great idea to have pictures to put faces with the names!
Thank you!
I’m excited to do this, we are hoping to start it in January. How long did it take you to do the unit? I want to give us plenty of time to dig deep.
It took us around 6 weeks.
