Neftali barely cleared 100 for his career, so Not Neftali Feliz would've been a good guess
Injuries got him. He was on a monster pace
I'll just take this opportunity to point out that Dennis Eckersley coined the term "Walk-Off," except he actually was describing himself walking off the mound after giving up the Kirk Gibson homer
I was waiting and waiting on Rodney and when I saw Jake's cap tilt that put a huge smile on my face!
This was my worst showing in an JM Baseball Trivia Game in my opinion, sorry I failed everyone haha
I was a little disappointed
I was only yelling Sutter and Wetteland the whole time, nbd
We still love you
I know it is a little late to record, but in honor of the Championship series, there are 29 numbers retired by the Phillies, Diamondbacks, Rangers, and Astros. (26 if you count Jackie Robinson once). How many can yall name?
Phillies:
Ashburn
Schmidt
Bunning
Allen
Halladay
Roberts
Rollins?
Rolen
Grover Cleveland Alexander
Diamondbacks:
Gonzalez
Randy Johnson?
Webb?
Rangers:
Young
Nolan Ryan
Ivan Rodriguez?
Fergie Jenkins?
Astros:
Nolan Ryan
Bag well
Biggio
Carlton, Ashburn, Allen, Roberts and Bunning for the Phils.
Astros I just know Biggio, Bagwell, Ryan and Scott.
Dbacks only have two of their players numbers retired, Big Unit and Gonzo.
Rangers have Ryan, Pudge, Michael Young and Beltre.
So counting Robinson once, I can name 16. I think I got all the Phillies, and know I got the DBacks. Not sure where the other 10 names played or who they are.
Maybe Berkman for the Astros or possibly JR Richard, Brad Lidge, Roy Oswalt or Billy Wagner? I guess rangers could have Juan Gones number retired but I don't think they do. Jeff Burroughs didn't really play there long enough but he did win an MVP with them.
Lol, I forgot to type in Schmidt, who obviously has his number retired by the Phils..
Screaming Houston Street internally at the end
I’m not rushin, I’m Dominican 😂😂
"WHY YOU ALWAYS HOSTING" is an all time quote. Soundboard that shit.
I look forward to these videos everyday! Keep it up!!
These are so great Jolly! Keep em up!
It’s kinda crazy how there’s a bunch of dudes who got 50 saves or more in a season and haven’t hit 300 in their careers. 8 in total all for different reasons.
9 Cubs! Lee Smith, Craig Kimbrel, Dennis Eckersley, Joe Nathan, Fernando Rodney, Aroldis Chapman, Rick Aguilera, Goose Gossage, Bruce Sutter
As a lifelong Tigers fan I knew Todd Jones was on the list
Nice kicks, Jake
Isringhausen had 217 of his saves with the Cardinals and yall throw him Angle's gear? Don't give him the Albert treatment!! hahahha
Welcome Back To Jelly!
I’m not very good at these, but I would have gotten glasses guy Tom Henke thanks to Jon Bois’ Dave Stieb documentary
Keith Foulke was stuck in my head the whole time, turns out I was wrong, he's only got 227
joez is so funny 😭
I had Rick Aguilera in my head the whole time, was waiting to see if he was on the list.
nobody knew The Terminator 😢
Bruce Sutter! He had exactly 300 saves. I can't believe that these guys didn't get him.
Y'all need to change this from MLB Top 30 to MLB Top Sass
I had the hardest ones immediately.
I would love for eliminated guys to stay on the couch
There are at least 8 Mets on this list, with at least 4 originally coming from the Mets system. Reardon, Myers, Isringhausen, Aguilera.
I had Aggie and Reardon, but because I'm a Twins fan. Rodney and Nathan also Twins.
My favorite yankee of all time is Carl Pavano
I’m not rushin’, I’m Dominican!
man, i would have crushed this just with ex-Mets: Franco, Wagner, K-Rod, Reardon, Myers, Aguilera, Isringhousen
I was screaming Kyle Farnsworth and I was very wrong lol turns out he seldom closed games
Coco needs more love
6:08 Robb Nen isn’t the only guy to lead two franchises in saves because Jonathan Papelbon leads both the Red Sox and (surprisingly enough) the Phillies.
Jolly saw Dalton getting cocky and cut him down at the knees.
Huston Street. Rockies legend
What do we got against the number 22
Two people tied for 21.
that was fun. these guys just don't know enough baseball history from before their time. I was waiting for someone to guess Randy Myers.
6:10 not true - Papelbon leads both the Red Sox and Phils in saves as well
Who’s Joez’ uncle? Sounded like he was on the ‘02 Angels
I like Jake way more after the Robb Nen pull.
Bruce sutter was also a brave
3:20 …
I tried to list all of the 300-save guys before starting this video. I got to 30, but then Joez says Jason Isringhausen and I knew I forgot somebody. ><
Anyways fun game. Do the 3,000 hit guys next (even if there are 33)
Let me try
Rivera
Smith
Hoffman
Reardon
Fingers
Eck
K-Rod
Nathan
Papelbon
Franco
Jansen
Kimbrel
Wagner
Gossage
Chapman
Isringhausen
Armando Benintez - X
Roberto Hernandez (No, not not Francisco Carmona)
Percival
Nen
Street
Rodney
Wetteland
Montgomery
Quisenberry - XX
Jones
Henke
Tom Gordon - XXX
Wetteland was mine because he was a dodger then yankee
Papleban did this in one year bud
please have them count 0-99 with player jersey numbers
Hey Jolly, why you always hosting?!
Does nobody remember Jeff Reardon goddamn dude was a fucking dog
Did homeboy say greatest closer of all time then say Trevor Hoffman? Sacrilege
Joez is manspreading so badly that dalton can barely sit on the couch
Where's Bruce Sutter!?!?!?
He had 300 so I guess maybe they would have considered Sutter or Isringhausen as #30, whichever one was mentioned first
Lol, reached the end of the video and they mentioned him
Where the fuck is Bruce Sutter
He is mistakenly not listed.
#31 (revealed at the end of the video)
the henke disrespect from jolly
I got all of these correct, by looking it up before the video. Then I can watch, and pretend that you guys are stupid, and I’m smart.
"Jeff Reardon? Never."
Again, another example of the age difference between me and the JM guys. He was the fourth person I thought of when I saw this title, after Mo, Rollie and Lee Smith. I remember Reardon passing Fingers as the all-time leader, then Smith broke Reardon's record soon after. Around this time, Rollie Fingers went into the Hall, and it began a lot of convos about closers earning induction because it was quite clear Fingers' total would look quite pedeestrian in the near future.
Last 6 minutes of this episode were really good. Wonder why?
See, to me, it's criminal not to get Sutter and/or Reardon. Sutter was the guy who started the whole "pitch mainly the 9th inning only" craze. He would do 6 out saves on occasion, but he wasn't the 9 out save guy like many of the best relievers of that time (the Tug McGraw, Sparky Lyle, Hoyt Wilhelm, Jesse Orosco types). On the heels of Sutter you ended up with the Eckersleys, Quisenberry, and Kent Tekulve types. The difference is, back then, you didn't save your closer for just save situations. You ran them out there whether you were winning or losing. Tekulve, for instance, threw in 94 games for the World Series winning '79 Pirates, but notched only 31 saves.
Whatever grandpa
@@PMurray2694 What a sad commentary!?! When my dad talked about watching Ted Williams play or Stan Musial play, I thought that was awesome. I'm sorry you don't have an equal appreciation for the history of baseball. Have a great day!
Joez isnt funny
