*Note* Flamesmiths do *Not* have Iron Hard Skin! I misread that!!
I don't want to complain about the new rules, but I seem to recall an interview, where it was stated that "all chaos dwarves have the new iron hard skin". Also minotaurs were not supposed to change. It seems like rules writing/the copy has been half asleep again.
You can still do the classic old roster, saving the new toys for later:
4 chorfs, 2 bull centaurs, 5 hobbos, 3 RR for 950k.
Can’t wait for the 7’s rosters! Lots of positional options! (Maybe too much choice)
It's not optimal but I don't care... 2 Bulls, 4 Blockers, 2 Flameboys, 2 Hobgobbos, 1 Stabba, 2RR for the lols
Sounds fun! 👍
@toptopplayer-f7n tell every opponent what?
@toptopplayer-f7n I'm always trying to play well, I'm just more concerned about having fun than winning... probably the Goblin coach in me
@toptopplayer-f7n don't get me wrong, winning is always nice, it's just that it's not the most important part of playing Blood Bowl to me
I still fail to see how not taking the most optimal build is not "really trying"
@toptopplayer-f7n I see
Not a problem for me as Blood Bowl (and its variants) is the only game I play
Although some of my friends have started getting into Necromunda and I enjoyed playing that in the 90s so I'm dusting off my old metal Spyre Hunters and giving them a repaint
I believe, I'm scared of Chaos dwarfs in 7s...
600 TV are 7 players
3x hobgoblin + 1x Chaos dwarf + 2x bullcentaure + 1x minotaur... I believe I'm scared of this xD
Hell, I'll watch it again
I hadn’t thought about the Minotaur for an all Hobbo team.
Food for thought 👍
For those who won't use the stabbers: Build 1 with 2 blades = Star Rashnak, build other with no blades = extra hobgoblin?
Cool vid. Note that the flamesmiths don't have Iron Hard Skin.
My goodness there are a lot of players in this team who will want to use the blitz action. Pretty much everyone except the basic blockers and basic hobgoblins.
Interesting that. So they're flammable 😂
Does anyone believe this is still a tier 1 team? With all the changes I feel it's more tier 2.
Considered I caved and ordered the bull centaurs, I think im gonna go for the double centaur roster
Really informative vid. What is the best Minotaur on the market to match the aesthetic of the new Chaos Dwarf models?
Stabbas are a rip-off at 70k. Stab is great, but Shadowing is junk. 60k woild be way more reasonable
For 70k, I would rather have a reroll.
@OmegaDestroyer99 even 60k would be too much in my opinion, stat-wise they are just the same a Lineman with worse passing
After all, a Dark Elf Assassin is only 15k more than a Lineman and at least that offsets the worse armour/passing with better movement
@@gaz-atolla7519 I'd buy them at 60k. They're handy to have around to threaten to blitz blodgers. But yeah, the Minotaur will be hogging blitz a lot and the bull centaurs will want it quite frequently. Even the flamesmiths, lacking block, probably are only optimal when blitzing blodgers too. So there's a lot of competition to use the once/turn action, which could spell trouble for the stabbers (as you won't want to just be walking them up to most kinds of opposing player). Maybe the dwarfs can get Grab and try to place opponents next to the stabbers, but I know dwarfs would usually rather prioritise Guard, Mighty Blow and probably Stand Firm.
Should of had at least 7 movement to make up for the 30k increase and to make shadowing at least mildly useful.
Agreed.
The baseline I use is Skinks.
Chameleon Skinks are MA7, have Shadowing, Dodge & Stunty (arguably a negatrait?) but they do at least pass on a 3+.
Stabbas are MA6, have the same crappy AV (8+, though granted non-stunty), cannot realistically pass the ball (5+ with no P access at all), and shadowing. GW seem to think all the value is in Stab.
And maybe it is, but at low TV you're just looking to fill the roster and get some re-rolls (get 'em whilst they're 70k!) so you'll just take the linemen over the Stabbas. And at higher TVs when you're reaching for the Dwarves, Centaurs and *maybe* the Minotaur, that leaves you with 2-3 positionals left, and I'd much sooner take the linemen. They're cheap to replace (important when they're AV8+) and just build them into ball carriers. I know Centaurs are functionally MA9, but they're also AG4+ - they're blitzers.
what do you think about 7 hobbos + 4 chorfs + Htarrk the unstoppable + 2 RR for exactly 1000K ?
you can't use star players in your roster, they are only available via inducements
7's team, Hobgoblins x 4, Sneaky stabbers x 2, Minotaur + Re-roll = 590k. Hmm.
2 bulls, 4 blockers, 1 flamesmith, 4 hobgoblins, 3 rerolls and 10k left over for fan factor. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over losing animal savagery from the minotaur
The Hobgoblin team doesn't seem all that bad. I'm sure there can be other rosters that perform worse.
Here's an idea for one Monday night blood bowl match. Two of the worst builds you can pheasably field. Say, a team on 16 snotlings against a shambling undead team of only zombies.
Let's have a race to the bottom!
The SneakyStabba seems like an interesting replacement for a dead Hobgob once you are a bit into a league; allows you to bring in a player that does something other than die.
Looks like for Dungeon Bowl they are getting their own specific team - College of Fire
auuuuu yeah, thank you so much for your content :D
I just can’t justify using the mino on chorf team I’ve been let down too much
Not 100% sure why GW took a team people played because it was very consistent and risk averse and then added a bunch of high-risky goofy skills. 70k stabbing Hobs might be the worst value player in the entire game.
Sadly the sneaky stabba's seem to be... a little overpriced. I was going to do a hobgoblin team which might end up being. Mino (150), 1 sneaky stabba (210), 12 hobgobbo's (690), 4 RR's (970), +3 dedicated fans.
Cutting one hobgobbo, 1 rr and the dedicated fans for the star player when they get in.
Flamesmiths do NOT have Iron hard skin for some reason... why would they be physically different from the Blockers?
So they can set themselves alight? As a risk factor? Does seem a bit odd
I really wish the stabbers had diving tackle instead of shadowing. Also call them Ankle Stabbers at that point. Missed opportunity on GW's part to get a rarely-used skill into the game.
As a Goblin coach, I don't see Iron Hard Skin being too much of an issue. The Hobgoblins are the preferred targets for a Looney's Chainsaw anyway...
Serious question as I've heard chainsaws and IHS mentioned in the same sentence twice now; what do they have to do with each other? Isn't IHS just for Claws?
@@urbandruiduk9928
As of the upcoming Chaos Dwarf release, Iron Hard Skin is going to be changed so that it will ignore ALL modifiers to AV rolls. So Claws, Mighty Blow, Chainsaws; any Skill, Mutation, or Trait that applies a modifier to the Armor Break roll are ignored. This will be addressed in the November FAQ/Errata.
@@-Charon- Awesome was hoping that would be the case. Cheers bud
Fellow Goblin coach here. Buffing iron hard skin is another nerf to my grots.
It makes me sad…and when I get sad, I throw goblins…throwing goblins makes me happy. Vicious cycle 😂
Was that praced plone at @ 3:13? hahaha
_Praced Plone_ 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Can you do a sevens video please
13 hobs, 3 rr and 270k for star players.
Am I right thinking without secret weapon on the stabbers they can't be sent off? Could be cool against stunties but $
They won't get sent off for having a knife 🔪 (considerably easier to hide than a death roller), but they can still get sent off for fouling
I really feel like this team is a swing and a miss from GW. The previous reworks for Norse, Amazons and Vamps were all great. The positionals on this team seem thrown together randomly and were poorly implemented.
The firesmiths could be interesting ig they either had stand firm instead of brawler or could use breath fire without having to use your blitz if you move like a hypnogaze. As it sits now they are a st3 piece that has no way to stay in contact with the opposition and thst means youd be using your blitz to use fire breath. That means your not blitzing with a chirf blocker bull centaur or minotaur if you have one on the roster. If they were able to move friebrearh a cage corner then have something else blurz the ball carrier now they seem useful. If they can't be pushed back and can firebreath next turn without using blitz still interesting.
Stabbers are a joke. Same stats as hobgoblins with worse passing and a completely useless skill and a situationslly useful trait gor almost double the cost. No ag access on primary which would at least make them interesting as a ball carrier. Sidestep would have been better than shadowing. At least with ag access they could have a built in reroll on that 6+ cage dive if you had to go that route.
Definite nerf for the team. But I have to say I find the team more interesting this way.
this team makes no sense, and has poor development prospects. why would I need a chaos dwarf blocker with block and dodge at 90K to be solid again. Iron hard skin is cool but its just such a bad trade off when they didn't go down in cost. Everything is over costed and GW is high if they think this is a tier 1 team.
