    Paused it at the opening back end hanging out... it is amazing that the land is quite literally filled with the evidence of these ancient races... the number of unfound points within the period of 10,000 years! Not one ever biodegrated! Less than one in 10,000 found!!! I will take a 2" point any day right! The shot at 3:13 is stellar of the Pine Tree... it is great to see you in a good land!!!

    • @Theditchwalker
      @Theditchwalker  9 лет назад

      +Indian Trace You are very correct....So many artifacts in the land..! Plenty more to find.! Lots of these artifacts I noticed are coming from elevation changes in the land that cannot be seen just by looking across a field.,but can be seen by looking at the hardpan levels in the creek....Interesting stuff Trace....Thanks for your comments and insights

      @@Theditchwalker my kids and I started arrowhead and fossil hunting together when the 2020 pandemic started. We’ve had a blast. I found a few as a child on Maryland beaches where I grew up. Check out our channel we started at Sherwood Family Adventures and you’ll see some of our finds here around Raleigh, NC. We love watching your videos!

    I tell you what that’s almost greenbrier/pine tree esk like it’s an in between transition. Greenbriers transitioned into pine trees and kirks I think. I had a point just like that but bigger buddy called it a pine tree I’ll show you a pic wish I could attach pics to this. But it’s definently older than your typical classic Kirk or pine tree that’s for sure. It’s more greenbrier in its flaking and shape than Kirk or pine tree to me. Either way it’s an old transitional/ early archaic killer made of some beautiful multicolor jasper like you said. Man what a gem find gratz.

    Wow man, the quality artifacts just keep coming! Great sand and gravel creek for diggin too. One question, are the waterways in your state part of the public realm or do you need permission to walk them? They are here in Ontario. Just wondering.

    • @Theditchwalker
      @Theditchwalker  9 лет назад

      +Steve Row Thanks for your comment Steve....Those people that hunt around here treat them as part of the public realm.,but actually the Law in Mississippi is that you have to have written permission on private lands..,it is a felony to hunt artifacts on state or federal property ...Here.,all the creeks are on private lands which is mostly Farmland that I have access to...

    hey ditchwalker I live in iowa and I love finding arrow heads I was wanting to know if I should look in creeks or indian mounds I have found a lot of arrow heads I might post a vid about em. so I was wondering if I should look on indian mounds or creeks. thanks

    • @Theditchwalker
      @Theditchwalker  9 лет назад

      +Korey Parrott I would choose creeks.,and not just one.....gain acces to as many as u can and hunt them after every rain

    • @koreyparrott1555
      @koreyparrott1555 9 лет назад +1

      +Theditchwalker ok thanks how can you tell what creek is Indian

    • @Theditchwalker
      @Theditchwalker  9 лет назад +1

      +Korey Parrott I like smaller creeks that run along or out of an elevation change....Remember 2 things....Changes in elevation and water sources(creeks) are likely places for artifacts to be....Prospect the creeks and look for signs of ancient man...Pottery.,flint flakes.,etc....Goodluck man

    I've never creek walked. what would I look for to know I found a good creek?

    • @Theditchwalker
      @Theditchwalker  8 лет назад +1

      +Clint Green I would walk smaller tributaries off larger creeks that run into higher ground...Any slight change in elevation that the creek may run into or near is subject to produce artifacts....once you find these areas that produce.. walk them after every rain every year...It will pay off...Thanks for your comment and the best of luck to you

    • @clintgreen9300
      @clintgreen9300 8 лет назад +2

      Thanks. I've been hunting pretty much my whole life. Surface hunting and bluff shelters. Just seen so many great artifacts come out of creeks and I've got some good creeks around those bluff shelters so hopefully I will find something.

    • @Theditchwalker

      I dunno. I would imagine that they found them from time to time...I think they became more domesticated and had plenty of material to work so there was no need to worry about recycling points.It probably happened from time to time though. Thanks for commenting
