@beyonder_rebirth imagine a triangle ABC perpendicular at B. Suppose you have to find cosA so AB will be the base, BC will be the perpendicular and AC will be the hypothenuse. So cos = B/H, this means cosA = AB/AC. In other words, it depends on the angle you are given in the question. If the question says angle A then you have to take cos for angle A, if it says B then B.

@beyonder_rebirth imagine a triangle ABC perpendicular at B. Suppose you have to find cosA so AB will be the base, BC will be the perpendicular and AC will be the hypothenuse. So cos = B/H, this means cosA = AB/AC. In other words, it depends on the angle you are given in the question. If the question says angle A then you have to take cos for angle A, if it says B then B.
