If you are in your 20s, then in 50 years, by the time you are in your 70s, we will: 1- Most probably have self destructed due to runaway greenhouse effect global warming or mutagenic warfare. 2- Reach technological singularity where a self-aware A.I., Skynet style, takes over to enslave the human race. 3- If 1 and 2 do not materialize, then quantum/photonic computers could be able by then to reproduce a virtual environment at the molecular or even atomic level, enabling Matrix style virtual reality directly in your brain, replicating full sensory experience of touch, smell, taste, sound and sight. Maybe even share emotions and feeling with others over the Internet.
Just imagine in a few years, having a device that will add extra sound effects, smell, maybe some water mist that sprays on you for water environments. Maybe an attachment that adds a feeling of gravity or "butterflies" or some vibrations on your skin. Just some ideas to make it more real. Or you know, just enjoy a nice hike outside :)
Just a thought from a teaching student's perspective but along with its uses in gaming I think this could have great implications for kids who aren't able to attend school due to serious medical conditions
I love Rock. He's so energetic and isn't afraid of a new expirience. He reminds me of my grandpa who passed away a few years ago and just seeing how alive Rock looks makes me happy.

8 years ago the first rift was released starting all of the new development in VR. such as the valve index and the portable quest 2 by oculus with even more power and better than the rift in every way. Look back at this comment in another 8 years and l lets see how powerful vr headsets are then.
