So happy to have found your guys channel ☺️ thinking of moving to central tennessee and your guys videos have gotten me so excited! I hope your pregnancy is going well❤❤
Oh thank you, Nora! We miss you! We took last week off while we had family in town, but we're SO excited to share this weeks video on Friday afternoon 💛
I'm sure you are going to get a lot of unsolicited parenting advice but here are my 2 cents. 🙃 You guys sound like you have a good foundation for parenting which is already more than I had when I had my son. I was flying by the seat of my pants! I'm not going to sugar coat it. Parenting is hard! There are unexpected ups and downs. The best advice I can give is be flexible. Give yourself some grace when the baby first gets here. It's a learning experience. You are getting to know him, what he needs, and how he communicates those needs. It takes a few months to get a handle on parenting and that's totally normal. Don't expect to be an expert and know all the answers after the first week. You'll get the hang of it. That being said, I suggest taking a baby class. If you know nothing about babies they can be extremely informative. I didn't take a class and it was a little overwhelming in the beginning. I had my mom staying with me for the first week or so and she used to be a post partum nurse so she taught me a lot. Melissa, you were saying you are worried about postpartum. It's a bit of a rollercoaster, I'm not going to lie. The hormones that have built up for 9 months all of a sudden shift once the baby comes and you are going to feel it. Just knowing that is so helpful. Crying for no reason...totally normal. Sleep deprived...totally normal. Don't be afraid to ask for help. All that being said, make sure you look up the symptoms of post partum depression. I'm not sure how common it actually is but it can go undiagnosed for a long time if you don't know what to look for. Ryan, if Melissa intends to breastfeed, she's going to be getting up in the middle of the night every time. Just a suggestion but you can help by changing the diaper after and putting the baby back to sleep. That way she isn't doing everything while you sleep all night. I'm sure you guys will find a routine that works for you. You guys are going to do great and I hope what I said is helpful. Sorry for such a long comment...I didn't mean to go on like that lol!
