I mean, aggressors where never meant to be devastators, they're heavily armored shock troops with dual power fists with dual guns built in. There's nothing heavy and slow moving about their arsenal. This is a cool kitbash if you wanted to make a devastator primaris though.
These look awesome! The one thing about the original aggressors is they just look like they're walking along with their arms by their sides, these look much more dynamic. The only small thing to make the bolters look more bolterish is maybe have the barrels slightly longer, with that classic muzzle brake looking hole drilled in the side. Only a small suggestion though
Right? The inceptors have the same (albeit worse) problem. Having a ranged weapon in each arm not only looks unwieldy (regardless of lore), it straight up limits the posing. GW should do what they did with the stormcast, and give some primaris kits a refresh.
I do regret not doing more with the muzzle, but I’m still quite happy with how they turned out :) And fear not brothers, I’ve got a solution for the inceptors in the works! Thanks for watching :)
Nice looking models and a great conversion! I have to say that I really appreciate the clear view of the models at the end! I find it that these days many 40k content creators tend to use hyper edited shots with smoke effects and colored lights to make their minis look "cooler" but in this video you have enough time and focus to really enjoy the models. Cheers! :)
I really dig that conversion with yhe reaper autocannon! Thats very creative and im most certainly going to use it somewhere, as i love those underslung weapon styles.
Removing the 'hood' from gravis armour improves it greatly. I did the same on my Dark Imperium captain. I also removed the hoses from the back of the legs, they're an unnecessary detail if you ask me.
Another really cool conversion! I love the look of the boltgun, as they clearly represent the twin-Linked aspect of the boltstorm gauntlets. Furthermore, i love How long you leave the beauty shots of your videos, leaves enough time for us watching i 2x speed;)
I really like how this turned out. The gun arm modification was basically a series of heart attacks to watch lol, but the end result is good! I think it works for me because it's one handed, so it's representing two guns. Crucially, it also overcomes the problem of "punching with your gun will probably break it" by *leaving a free hand for punching*. If you're unsure about the conversion, I watched an Aggressor conversion that use the Inceptor bolter arms with half a chainsword mounted below the barrel as a bayonet, and - having tried it myself - can confirm that it works well. It does make the model read as having a less "heavy weapon." On the other hand, I really wanna do this for my next Aggressors - just to make the squads fistinct.
These look brilliant mate, these were the first of the Primaris models that I couldn't get behind along with the Inceptors, felt like goofy Starcraft imitations. Much more brutal and astartes appearance now, also love the asymmetry ⚡⚡⚡
Just got recommended this vid today by the algorithm and ended up going back and watching all your previous ones too. Great job on the conversions and on pushing yourself out of your comfort zones and trying new things, they look great and your chapter scheme is very cool aswell. liked and subbed, look forward to seeing more
The biggest thing this inspired me to to is trim away the armored hood on my aggressors like you did here, I want to see my plastic soldiers heads damnit!
Really like these, the assault cannon / heavy bolter terminator look suits them much more than the Marneus Coolguy double power fist single aux bolter design
I dig the conversion! However, I would recommend going over the areas painted with the plastic cement with a fine sanding stick. Helps to even out the surface.
If they were flame Aggressors with the hose/tank those weapons could be a great base for a multi melta conversion, if only they were so equipped. Great project, love the unique take on these.
@ConversionBeam I must have a Gladiator Lancer with tracks! I look at my Impulsor with a worried eye, as it must be possible to convert those blasted grav plates to continuous tracked treads, but I lack the knowledge, skill, and bits, to make it happen! And, frankly, I'm a crap modeler and painter without a plan (took months of planning and notetaking before I started snipping the sprue of my first mini). BUT YOU! You have the tools! You have the talent! So, consider this the first vid of me asking for a track conversion of an Impulsor/Gladiator! Keep being awesome!😁
@@ConversionBeam well that is awesome to hear! Bell was already rung a while ago, so I'll just be over here waiting patiently and enjoying your content! 😁
Some great techniques for Iron Hands or any mechanical looking chapter. Good stuff. To make your life easy though, get a better set of clippers. Something like Godhand clippers cut like butter and leave less chunks and stress marks.
These are so cool! I recently picked up aggressors in a combo box and I'm not a fan, I've been deliberating over how to convert them for days, this video is a great visualisation of what I've been thinking about! The A-symmetrical weapons are way cooler, I think I'm going to go with the HH heavy bolter upgrade so it's a little smaller, but these look incredible!
Gods damn! They look so much better! The overall shape language is miles above the original version. The paint job also rocks to highlight their new look :O To me Agressors just look goofy, really not a fan of the hood and gloves are just unpleasantly weird, and you solved both! It pains me even more when they partly replace machine gun Devastators who were my favourite firstborn units
I would never have considered the crenellations on the gorget, and that is why I am not an Imperial Fists player, awesome idea. My only complaint about this conversion is that the barrels look really short for where the ejection ports are, it’s like a sawn-off heavy bolter-I would look for some spare heavy bolter barrels somewhere and attach them right where your barrels end.
I really am digging this conversion. Might have to snag it for myself. I would love to see GW make some more variants of the Gravis armored marine design....for my version of these I probably will be replacing the Frag launchers on the backpack with actual grenade launcher barrels (think shoulder cannons, with a drum magazine)
@@ConversionBeam That or you could always modify the grenade launcher from the cadian shock trooper kit or even the OG scions kit. Was thinking I could also homebrew some and replicate the mortars on the Iron Harvest PKP-17 Eisenhans troops. The sentry turrets GL would work really well (if the size is just right).
Fantastic work, they look great. I'd say you're right, about the 'weapons look a little TOO powerful', but frankly they're cool enough that I wouldn't care. It looks like a big machinegun. That'll do the job, representation wise. They're gravis, on foot, and they have the grenade launcher on top, they literally can't be anything else.
Maybe I'm an old fogey, but I just look at these and think "oh, I get it, they're terminators, kinda?" Your conversion is undeniably cooler, but I still struggle to think of what their thematic niche is meant to be. Vanguard marines I get, it's lighter power armor, something we never really had before - but heavier power armor? Again that's, uh, that's what terminators are. Thematically, I mean. Obviously you can slap whatever stats onto whatever model GW pumps out to justify internal list balancing, I'm more talking about the overall army design philosophy.
I feel like they were originally supposed to replace terminator armour but then GW realised that they probably shouldn’t do that, leaving them in this awkward spot. So I think you’re absolutely right brother
They're designed as a close quarters heavy fire support, breachers and bulwarks, hence their primsry guns being short ranged. Terminators are more designed as sudden shock assault, breaking the enemy and their morale quickly using a teleporter home to suddenly appear. They also have a different range of heavy weapons to suit the situation. Terminator suits are expensive and lost tech; hence the +4 invuln save. Gravis is just shit tonnes more plating, and thus easier to make. Gravis armour should just be the standard tbh. Heavy intercessors look and go hard.
the conversion is super impressive, but i feel they are more a small version of the terminator than true aggressor. aggressor are means to be a frontline unit, mostly here for endure, they have the bolter and flamer for attack at range, but the dual powerfist it's where they get them power as frontliner. they will shoot at medium range and when enemy arrive at melee, the gravis armor give them survivability while them dual powerfist allows them to deliver punishement to the enemy that did try to go to melee. i can understand why people feel that aggressor have a weird place, but gravis armor is kinda easier to get than terminator. they fill the place of heavy frontliner when the 1st company isn't there for this. but that don't change the fact that it look badass as conversion.
love the castle comparison to the neck line, only critique is the bonding studs look very large and bulbous, maybe make about half the size? Great work though! Personally im working on getting some crusader squads to kitbash my Dark Angels Scouts and Intercessors/Hellblasters.
Looks good! It does look more powerful than two boltstorm gauntlets, but I don't think that's a big issue. Personally, I would have kept more of the barrel on the assault cannons so you can include the characteristic muzzle brake that all bolters have, with the two holes in the sides.
@@ConversionBeam Hi! Big fan, I always look forward to your projects. I'm planning my own apothecary rhino. Speaking from experience, you can get plasticard tubes that you can drill holes in the side. Once painted you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Great results, those boltguns are over the top in just the right ways. You need a better set of clippers, get some knockoff Godhands like some Stedi and you'll never look back.
They feel much more like classic devastators now
Is that a good thing? I think that’s a good thing
@@ConversionBeam yes sir, very good

I didn’t think of removing those, that’s a great idea, maybe I’ll give it a try for my heavy intercessors, thanks brother :)
If the iron warriors were loyalist this is how I’d think they’d look. Freakin awesome
Not sure if I should feel about that, but thanks for watching Brother :)
I am 100% gonna replicate these for my confessors army, they look amazing

These are some seriously cool kitbashes, cutting the barrels off the cannons is a simple but very effective change 👍

Man, that Mechanicum OST really slaps no matter what it's put to for 40k content.. Great conversions, they look sick
Those are fabulous. The guns look great. Only thing im not sold on are the bonding studs.
Another masterful conversion. Bravo sir!
Very cool conversion AND paint scheme! We definitely need a tutorial for that too!

Those guys look great. I particularly like how the massive Bonding Studs give the armour a bit of a Dalek vibe.
These models look so much better than the normal aggressors! I want to try to replicate this!
I like this conversion of the Aggressors. They look like they're halfway between a terminator and devestator.
Love that Mass Effect music in the background

This vid making me and my brother wanting aggressors now and replicate this. Amazing work!
Do it! I believe in you!
The whole time I was thinking "nah" but then I saw them assembled, and now I have to change to "YEAH"
I did pretty much the same for my Salamanders Aggressors, even went with mk3 helmets too! They look so much better than standard ones.
