    My favourite spinner for salmon, lost count how many l have taken on the black and silver. Early season l fish the black and gold. Throw it across and slightly up stream and reel it in.. deadly. Fish the yellow and silver in coloured water after heavy rain, cast upstream hard into the bank and hit the seatrout.

    Great video mate, i sometime use the exact same method and cast across upstream also, what ever it is about the lure coming toward their face it triggers a very aggressive take.

    • @ROAD658
      @ROAD658 Год назад

      Salmon open and shut their mouths all the time and obviously face upstream and when you cast upstream and reel in the line goes through the salmons mouth and the lure slides into it's mouth, hence the aggressive take and sometimes hooked on the outside of the mouth , foul hooked ! it happen's with lead fly lines as well,these method's are banned on some beat's .Not being a kill joy it's just the truth ,how it is !!! Probably what happened with this fish on the video.

      @@ROAD658 I doubt very much a salmon is going to stay still while a line is dragging across its mouth until a lure latches on..... its mostly a front coming invader of personal space that annoys them, I've seen a lot of fish follow the flying c back down stream and nail it.

      Ur either leaving it sink too long or the pool is too shallow for that method then just spin normally

    Lovely fish pal 👍 i was on a fishing trip 3 weeks ago at a river ive never fished before, i started off with an Abu Garcia Tormentor floating minnow and on my second cast i went right into a tree on the opposite bank,luckily i had my waders on so i was able to get over but once i got up the tree i saw my line had wrapped around another line stuck there and on the end of it was a big red flying c 😀🙌 i never used it as i was ultralight fishing n this was to heavy for my 5ft 6 rod but im gonna give it a go soon, would trout go for these lures paul?
    Tight lines pal ✌👍from Scotland 🙋

      @@PaulGreenacre Thanx pal 👍 last week i caught my biggest ever fish, a 38cm wild brown on the worm not sure of its weight but deffo my P.B 😆 ive got the vid on here but i made it private bc of my C&R effort which was awfull but i was so excited and got carried away,i had watched a vid of a guys P.B catch and he got so much negativity in the comments and my effort was worse 😞 i left my landing net on that trip were i found the Flying C 😠 so i had no choice but to land it with my hands, i usually keep my catch in the net then quickly get a pic.
      I'll give you the link if you want to have a look its only a couple of mins long and i only used the camera on my tablet 😞
      I wouldn't mind an opinion of how heavy it was

    How do you attach the flying c to the mainline? Do you tie the mainline directly to the the lure or do you use a snap swivel? Also do you a hooklink/leader?

    • @dylancahill129
      @dylancahill129 Год назад

      Use a barrel swivel

    • @PaulGreenacre
      @PaulGreenacre  Год назад

      no link swivel - straight to the leader - using a uni knot, swivel is 2 feet above the spinner.

    Great video - amazing fishing. Do you use wire traces when spinning for salmon on the Avon? How often do you encounter pike when upstreaming?

    • @PaulGreenacre
      @PaulGreenacre  4 года назад +1

      No I use flouro carbon in case the salmon rolls on the line. You catch the occasional Pike.
