Couldn't have said it better. I agree that there should be legal mechanisms in place to get redress a situation where an individual knowingly and with ill intent violates your privacy. Similar to how healthcare providers and organizations can be penalized for divulging private information in a manner that is illegal per HIPAA.
For sensitive communications, I'd recommend people to use apps that are E2E encrypted and have features that prevent/discourage screenshot and ability to delete messages from both party's phones (either after a certain amount of time, or manually any time). Telegram and it's "secret chat" function is a good example. Still not perfect since you can't stop someone from manually taking a picture of the phone screen with another device...but it makes things harder at least.
Even if it prevents screenshots u can just use another phone to take a pic of the screen. Come on now
