      I've been eyeing Rythmiks (fv15hp) for a while, but has just stumbled into these beasts. Can you please share how do you feel about them in comparison with Rythmiks. If I am only looking at purchasing 2 subs, does it make sense to add some funds and get Rythmiks or do you recommend these ones? Thanks a lot in advance!

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  Год назад +2

      @@sergeyeremeev6315 You are talking totally different price ranges here. You could get almost 4 of the Starke SW15 for the price of 1 fv15hp. 3.5 of them anyway. 1:1 the rhythmik should be "louder". They are both very nice subwoofers. If you can only do 1 unit I always say go ported because you are going to be chasing the raw output. If you can buy 2 units then sealed becomes a great option. If you want to stay cost conscious for sure go with the 2 starks. If you have an extra $2400 then go for the rythmiks. (Or buy like 7 starke 15s... ha!)

    I put the LFE cable back in for Dune 2 in 4K Blu-Ray, was not getting the deep hard bass. Thought the movie was made for the Subwoofer Channel (.1 or LFE). It helped a bit. Then after saw it put back the Dual Red & White cables so I can put the Onkyo receiver Subwoofer Crossover at 50 HZ and my OSD Trevoce 12 was performing beast mode. Godzilla vs Kong I thought the neighbor may complain but was Afternoon to 5 pm so they was okay. Bass movies like Godzilla i run at 40 HZ the Onkyo receiever (LFE Off). But i will put it at 80HZ watching older movies like 007- Casino Royal or Spectre. Sweet spot is 50 HZ crossover - Unless you use DSP then you can run LFE at 120HZ etc.

    I bought two from the BOGO sale, I’m one of those super hardcore theater guys but still a newb when it comes to home theater. I Had two dual 18” JTR sealed subs and I thought two 15” subs would give me a noticeable bump in bass output, but sadly my 18’s make the Starke subs seem like they are not even on. I literally sat next to them to check.

    • @JilesMcCoy

      You would need to double up your 18s to even get 3 DB of extra output. So you need 4 extra 18" drivers to do what you want to do.

    Hello Jiles! I love my M&K MX1000 subwoofer. I bought it new in 1988! It produces deep bass, I call it, "Gravy in the skillet bass." Chuncks of beef is easy to produce that other subs do well, but they ignore the gravy that creates presure in the room. I'm looking for more powerful subs that are simuilar to the sound of the old M&K subs. I was considering two Rythmik F15 or two Rythmik G22s. But, if the Starke will satisfy my needs, Oh Happy Day! Your thoughts, please. Thanks for your time!

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  Год назад

      Ive never used the Rythmiks before or the older MX1000. For equal money the Starkes would almost certainly give you better output than the Rythmiks (as that you can get almost 3:1 units.) Meaning I'd take 2 sw15 over 1 F15. If you need the very most output out of a single unit maybe look at ported. But then you get into much larger boxes.
