@@darklordsatan4383 I am pretty sure being the oldest means jackshit in Greek mythos considering zeus the youngest and most garbage of the bunch got the throne to mount Olympus
Well, to be accurate, everyone was obligated to do right by Hestia. She’s not just the goddess of the hearth, she’s also the physical embodiment of family, and by extension, country. Greeks were really big on the ideas of family and country, and so the defilement of these things was not really something they wanted in their stories, and so most of the stories about Hestia are just about all of the Olympians banding together to protect her. The other big story I can remember about Hestia is the time a minor agriculture god tries to take advantage of her thinking that she is a nymph, and all of the extended family comes running to beat the shit out of this guy. So yeah, the Greeks said, don’t fuck with Hestia.
Indeed. Queen Hestia is the Goddess of the hearth: the seat of worship and civic duty. If She were to die, the gateway to the Theoi would die; if She were to die, the order of the civilization would die. And the God's name is Pripus, a minor god of agriculture and male fertility, the son of Aphrodite and Dionysus. When he sought to assault Goddess Hestia, a donkey let out a bellowing bray, waking Her up. When She screamed, ALL (and I mean ALL) of the Olympians rushed to Her aid (including Aphrodite and Hades; the latter of which specifically does not interfere with most affairs, because he can just wait).
@@Alternative_Alba not really she isn’t scary. Her family is scary. She seems to me like the only nice goddess the Greeks have. Everyone else has some form of sickening past but she hasn’t as far as I am aware. She is the most innocent one out of all of them.
To those of you wondering, yes, even Artemis fell in love with Orion once. But Apollo killed Orion and ruined their relationship. You know, overprotective brothers.
... I'm... pretty sure Artemis was the one who sent Scorpio after Orion because he wouldn't stop chasing her. And another god sent Orion to the heavens so he could still pursue her and she threw Scorpio up there to chase after him for all time. The version of her loving Orion is from 1 singular source, if I remember, not backed up by any other person. Artemis DID let a lad join the huntresses though.

@@zanman190 I concur. One correction. I appear to have made an error. It was during the titanomachy and it was her siblings who kept bugging her to come help them.
You are. You are thinking of Thetis, queen of the sea nymphs. Any son she bore was destined to be greater than his father, so the gods hooked her up with a mortal hero named Peleus. Together they had a son named Achilles (yes that Achilles) who indeed, became greater than his father. There was also Metis, Zeus' first wife. When she got pregnant Zeus heard a prophecy that while a daughter by her would be his pride and joy, a son by her would eventually overthrow him. So Zeus, not liking those odds, swallowed Metis alive. Some time afterwards Athena sprung out of Zeus' head and became his favorite daughter.

I'd say perhaps Hestia is at the same level of power as Zeus if not higher than him, she is the godess of the home fire, the receives a part of every offer, she is the eldest and also the youger of all of Kronos' children Or perhaps just like how Athena is Zeus' favorite daughter, Hestia is Zeus' favorite sister, lol
Hestia’s position as the observer of the Hearth of Olympus also means she cannot just be taken away from her duties. She needs to make sure the fire doesn’t go out or it’s big trouble for everyone. Girl has no time for any kind of partner, man or woman. Also considering she is the oldest of all of Kronos children, she has more respect from any god than even Zeus. ALSO Also she is super beloved, there was no way that she wouldn’t be doted on by her siblings.
The idea that Hestia got dirt on Zeus is something that both scares, but interest me. First let's analyze the things Zeus fears the most. 1. Nyx, Chaos, Gaia, Uranus, and Erebus. 2. The prophecy of the son of Metis killing him. 3. Typhon 4. The possibility of Kronos resurrection. Ok now we know that Hestia is the daughter and the eldest child of Kronos and Rhea. In fact Hestia was so pure it was stated that Kronos felt guilt and shame when he ate her. So out of the 6 gods Hestia probably is on best terms with her father. There's also the fact she is a pacifist so Gaia wouldn't have a reason to kill her because she wouldn't have killed any titans or giants. So she is probably the only one of the 6 that are on good terms with both parents and with Gaia. This means that if Hestia wanted to she can actually start a second titan war by uniting 2 of Zeus's most common enemies. 3 if we count Typhon. There is also the prophecy. But what if the prophecy was misread. What if it wasn't a son of Zeus and Metis, but with Zeus and someone else? One myth is that Hera gave birth to Ares because she was upset of the fact thay Zeus gave birth to Athena. What if the prophecy was talking about Ares? Think about it. He's the god of war he can easily lead an army, he was hated on by Zeus so much Zeus even stated that if he wasn't his son he would've killed him a long time ago during the Trojan War when he was impaled by a spear, and remember when the gods tried to over throw Zeus, but it failed? Athena was there so she couldn't be what the prophecy was talking about, but Ares wasn't there at all. Also compare Ares to Zeus. Ares believes in consent, he is only violent except when his love one's are in danger or when he has to go to war (which is his job), he doesn't punish innocent people, and he also loves all of his children equally. You could say he is the anti Zeus. Remember Athena is stated to be more smarter, but Ares in most myths isn't really dumb he mostly lose fights because he's out numbered except for the one time when Athena threw a boulder at him. What if Ares was actually stronger? What if he was so strong he's the only god who could've match Zeus? Think about it this explains everything. The only god who matched Ares in strength was Heracles and he'd got help from Athena. What if Ares was the child of prophecy and Hestia knew? What if the prophecy about Metis's son was a lie by Zeus? Think about he just got done with father and did the same thing he did, that's not a good plan. What if Zeus lied saying it was a child with Metis because he knew trying to kill his child would make himself die. That's why Zeus is ok letting Ares die all of the time. If Zeus isn't doing it then he's not technically preventing it so he would be safe. What if Hestia knows this and blackmailed Zeus because if word gets out then nothing would stop Ares. Fate would be on his side so if he try to kill his father he would succeed. But that's just a theory a myth theory thanks for reading.
Hestia's the goddess of the hearth. The heart of all homes that keeps people tied together. Just imagine all of the secrets she knows, the amount of power from sacrifices, also she'd likely be great at organizing people. Hestia could have the most power out of all the siblings. She's never really gotten on someone's bad side, which is EXTREMELY difficult to accomplish in Greek mythology.
Hestia was the nice quiet girl that everyone would rush to protect when somebody tried something with her(perfect example is the reception at zues and heras wedding. Hestia got black out drunk and went to sleep under a tree which is when she was found by a satyr who tried to have his way with her when she screamed everyone at the party ran and took part in jumping the satyr) which is part of the reason why zues enforced her decision. Plus I think Hestia and Rhea were the only women Zues ever saw as actually blood related to him. Which is why he didn't try to bone her which didn't hurt her chances of being taken seriously for such a pledge
As a pagan I love the format of this vid especially the little gossip-theory thing at the end. It makes me feel like yeah, they're still kicking around, and ppl are still thinking of them! (At least, in some ways even separate to faith)

I mean all of Zeus's siblings are older than him and he definitely doesn't respect them all.

Or am I confusing Hestia with someone else?

Or perhaps just like how Athena is Zeus' favorite daughter, Hestia is Zeus' favorite sister, lol
Hestia’s position as the observer of the Hearth of Olympus also means she cannot just be taken away from her duties. She needs to make sure the fire doesn’t go out or it’s big trouble for everyone. Zeus: i fear nothing but those 2....😨it scares me
*Nyx and Hestia...*
"I know what you did to the other pantheons... "
The idea that Hestia got dirt on Zeus is something that both scares, but interest me. First let's analyze the things Zeus fears the most.
1. Nyx, Chaos, Gaia, Uranus, and Erebus.
2. The prophecy of the son of Metis killing him.
3. Typhon
I love this theory for so many reasons and I will hold it in my mind forever.
