- When it comes to prescription eyewear and ski goggles, you have three options...
1) Wear contacts
2) Buy OTG Goggles
3) Opt for a Prescription Ski Goggle Insert
The best option when looking for prescription ski goggles is the use of prescription inserts, which fit into the framework of the goggles. This is the best possible approach, because the single shield design of a ski goggle does not lend itself to providing binocular prescription vision - you have two eyes, so you need two lenses! We often get asked about directly glazed prescription goggles, and as soon as the technology is there, we will offer them!

Bought these together with some new Giro goggles this time last year, they are great, rarely fog up and I didn’t really notice the insert, certainly not whilst concentrating on skiing. 👍🎿
Wait so I can use the insert with any kind of goggles? Not theirs specifically?
@@mrsandersen I’ve used the insert in my ‘new’ goggles and my old Oakleys. It’s a kind of spring loaded plastic arm arrangement that holds the insert top and bottom against the frame. 2 long years ago almost!
So if I already have giro onset goggles (two pairs for different lenses), am I able to use the same insert if I get new goggles (specificilaly smith 4D mag or I/o mag xl)
V helpful. Thank you
You're welcome!
Can I use this insert with my old goggles or does it have to be yours specifically?
according to the website they can fit lenses for a pair you already own.
That’s a great idea! Where do I buy an insert?

did you liked the insert ?
Why can't they just make prescription polycarb lenses for the goggles themselves?
There's a few issues in doing so, such as the duel layer goggle lens, tint matching and lens position to name a few. There are labs out there trying to overcome this and as soon as the technology becomes available we'll be on the case!
No one wants to make prescription goggles. . . Particularly for water sports.
