Wow, I never realized how much my decisiveness and comfort with solitude could be perceived as intimidating. This video really made me reflect on how these traits align with stoicism. Does anyone else feel like they sometimes have to tone down their directness for others' comfort?
It's interesting how strength in solitude and decisiveness can come off that way. Stoicism teaches us balance-being true to ourselves while still being mindful of others. You're definitely not alone in feeling that way!
@Raspil That’s the spirit! Staying true to yourself is so important. Authenticity is powerful, and the right people will respect you for it. Keep being unapologetically you!
Thank you for this video. Besides a stoic , I am also Divergent. I feel resistance from certain people and praised by others for my originality and problem-solving.
Being Divergent definitely sets you apart in a unique way. It's not surprising that some people resist that kind of originality, but it's great that others recognize and appreciate your problem-solving skills. Staying true to yourself is what matters most!
I actually prefer being alone. I can get drained by other people but know when to walk away. My friends are like me for the most part. I never enjoyed parties or even family gatherings, I can read the emotions underneath. You will find me with a book in a corner or on the stairs sitting quietly with my own thoughts until someone approaches me. I am always polite but don't like lengthy conversations. I research politics and history especially so I know what is really going on. Most are tuned out.
It sounds like you really value your own space and focus on meaningful, deep topics. It can be tough when most people are tuned out, but your awareness and ability to read between the lines is a real strength. A quiet corner with a good book sounds like the perfect escape!
It’s beautiful that you’ve found peace in solitude. Taking time to listen to classical music and reflect is a powerful way to gain clarity and grow. Seeing life from a different perspective and striving for self-improvement are admirable pursuits. Stay true to yourself, and may your journey inward continue to inspire you. If you ever want to share more thoughts, I’m here to listen!
This breakdown of a strong, intimidating personality through the lens of stoicism is so insightful! The idea that staying true to one's values, even in difficult conversations, is more about self-respect than confrontation really resonated with me. Which trait stood out to you the most?
@@StoicQuotes365 The focus on staying true to values while navigating difficult conversations really struck me too. It's a reminder that self-respect doesn't mean being combative, just grounded. The part about handling manipulators stood out-setting boundaries without feeling guilt is a real strength.
The part about preferring rationality over conformity really hit home for me. It’s so true that standing firm on logic and reason can make others uncomfortable, but it’s all about authenticity. Anyone else find that their rational thinking often puts them at odds with the crowd?
@@StoicQuotes365 Completely agree! Sticking to rationality over conformity can feel isolating, but it's worth it for authenticity. It’s surprising how uncomfortable people get when you don’t just go with the flow. You're definitely not alone in that!
Haha, sometimes the least intimidating people are the most fun to be around! 😂 Besides, who needs to be scary when you can make others laugh? That’s a way better superpower! Keep being you - humor is the best kind of charm. 😄💪
Thank you for watching! 4th passage focuses on balancing solitude with social relationships, while 7th emphasizes Stoic philosophy and self-mastery through solitude.
