「ゴールデンアックス」によく似た、奥行きのあるタイプの横スクロールアクションゲーム。 それというのも、このゲームは「ゴールデンアックス」の開発チーム「チーム忍(後のAM1研)」が手がけた作品である。 今作では、通常の横スクロールステージに加え、高速スクロールステージや、3Dステージが登場したことで、 他の横スクロールアクションゲームとは少し違った作品となっている。 特に3Dステージでは画面内のあらゆる物を破壊可能で、中にはライフやエネルギーを回復するアイテムが登場する。 エンディングのBGMは必聴である。
ストーリー:
普段は、屋台でホットドッグを売っている「GORDON」「KARLA」「SCOOTER」の3人。 だがエイリアンが出現した瞬間、彼らは優秀なエイリアンバスターに変身するのである。 ど派手なそれぞれの武器を使って、宇宙からの侵略者を手当たりしだい撃ちまくれ。

A side-scrolling beat-em-up in which up to 3 players take on the role of one of 3 futuristic warriors. The game heroes are charged with destroying the hoards of repulsive aliens who are invading the Earth. Many of the aliens are disguised as a variety of everyday street objects; such as telephone booths, oil cans, trash cans and mailboxes. The aliens reveal their true forms as the warriors approach.
Each of the 3 heroes carries their own individual weapon; Gordon has his plasma gun, Karla has a flamethrower and Scooter has an electric whip. At the end of each level, the warriors will enter a building and the shoot-em-up action will switch to a first-person perspective.

Alien Storm was the second game in Sega's System 18 motherboard series.
Gilius, the dwarf from "Golden Axe", appears as a judge in the final voting. The player characters from "Golden Axe" appear in the TVs of the first-person shooting levels.
This game features an odd option: by pushing the service mode button you enter a menu with the usual configuration options, the last one allows machine owner's to put their own store name in the introduction of the game (Led sign in the Alien Busters van).
Pony Canyon / Scitron released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Hyper Drive : G.S.M. Sega 4 - PCCB-00035) on 21/07/1990.

Ahh, Alien Storm, the uplifting tale of two upstanding citizens of the Imperium of Man and their Skittarius buddy singlehandedly stopping a Chaos incursion on their homeworld.
Surely the enemy are a Tyrannid hive fleet, battle brother? Note their revoltsome and disgustquish orifices and appendages and bio-secretions.

yea, the store infected with hundreds of aliens is more worth than the owner's life. or maybe those aliens don't want to kill humans, we can just walk and make a pacific conversation, without any damage.

I LOVE Alien Storm. Loved it the first time i saw it on Mega Drive ... and loved it more when i could finally play the Arcade Version years later. This is such a unique spin of ... of all those Golden Axe, Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle and Final Fight brawlers. Good Times.
Indeed, those retro beat 'em up games were so good, can't get enough of just a single one of them.
@@3rdworldvictimyouvebeenlie817 Yeah I loved Golden Axe 1/2/3 and Bare Knuckle 1/2/3 to pieces, but Alien Storm which came out after Golden Axe 1 was unique because it was nothing like Golden Axe, Final Fight or the many others from the Arcade.
In hindsight, Alien Storm really looks like a follow up to their Alien Syndrome.

I used to play this game a lot on the Genesis. Without that intro, it wasn't apparent just how much this was supposed to be in the vein of a lighthearted "undercover hero agency" Japanese TV show.
アーケードとメガドライブで展開が違うのも良い。

I know a lot of people comment about being scared by games but this game is one of the only legit games than give me goosebumps, the aliens design is really bizarre and grotesque.
