This video is easily one of the finest, easy to understand tutorials I've ever seen. Many thanks. A commentor below recommends taking a clear photo of the installed belt prior to removal; an excellent suggestion.
Your mention of making sure you mark the direction of travel if reusing the belt just helped me figure out why I have a whine under load after taking the belt off. Cheers!
Used this guide today. it is absolutely perfect. I was actually changing the alternator, so i used this guide for the airbag, belts etc, then the guide on pelican parts for the alternator. Easier than you think.
Excellent Video. Thank you. I plan to purchase my first 996 turbo Porsche in the next few weeks and this was very easy to follow and learn. I have subscribed to you channel.
This is a great video, but there are a couple of easy points to note. The first is remove the mass air flow sensor after you lift the air box up and twist it towards you. It will make it easier to release the clip on the underside of the sensor. The visible wire clip is easy to get to so it will give you the slack you need. - also, I took a picture of the path of the drive belt. Especially on the twists by the tensioner. - Other than that - it is a VERY easy job to do. If you are going to change the air filter, do it while it is out of the car, it just is easier. :-)
@@gabrielcho999 Actual advice, by the books you should replace the water pump because you're right there so might as well replace it, a water pump with over 100.000km is most likely to start giving problems and a water pump that doesn't work gets you a new engine 🙃

well done. Many thanks. Couldn't be clearer.
Awesome Tutorial....
Perfect!
Nice video, you just forgot to mention to replace the water pump when replacing the timing belt.
Is this some sort of inside joke, or is this actual advice?
