    I'd recommend silicon spray for your outboard. It seems to last better after salt water also I my engine has never taken more than 2 pulls and that was after winter storage. Tohatsu are my no1 favourite outboard

    Hi - Great vids - I’m brand spanking new to SIB ing ! Purchasing one for fishing 🎣 mainly at Langstone Harbour - your videos have been really helpful and informative !!
    Can’t wait to get out ! Looking at putting a 6HP on my 330 Pro, hoping that will do the job nicely ?
    Keep up the vids !! Cheers 🍻

      If your in the boat by yourself then a 6hp should be adequate but if your taking any friends and loads of fishing gear then you would be better off with a 9.9hp minimum?

    Everything seem to could cause puncture to your dinghy, even small stones 😅...which brand are u using? I thought these were made tough, some even military grade such as the RIVIX brand

    • @Budgee197
      @Budgee197  2 года назад +2

      The boat is pretty tough and I’ve never had any trouble with punctures. Like you say I don’t think small stone would do any damage either. I just like to keep my boat clean and free from any potential hazards just as a precaution really!
      You just never know what sharp objects could be hiding between the creases of the boat. I just used sharp stones as an example. I just make sure I keep mine free of any debris just to be safe. It just gives me peace of mind my boat is going to stay in good condition.
      I’m just a fussy git,lol!
      Thanks for your feedback and for supporting our channel. 😁

    Great video mate I really appreciate it, well done. By the way,I have just subscribed. Just wondering, do you go out fishing in your sib/tender? I have just purchased a sib, not unpacked it yet as I am waiting till I purchase an outboard. Keep the vids coming mate.

      I haven’t been fishing in mine yet. My son is a bit loose with swinging the hooks about when casting out and I don’t fancy a puncture in the boat just yet, lol!
      Definitely open the boat mate, just to check the condition it’s in in case of any imperfections there might be. Also measure the hight of the transom where the engine will sit because a lot of boats are different and you would be gutted if you bought an outboard only to realise it doesn’t fit the boat. It’s a common thing that often gets overlooked, just check it out to be safe.
      Thanks for the lovely comment!!!!😁

    I really enjoy cleaning my 6hp mercury its most satisfying. Love the use of the kong dog toy...inspired. have you any videos on how to set and retrieve an anchor I just bought a small grappling style one and would appreciate any hints and tips on there use. Many thanks

    • @Budgee197
      @Budgee197  2 года назад +1

      Ok the anchor, I’m not an expert but I have learned a few things through the years of boating…………
      There are quite a few different options when it comes to anchors but to try and simplify the type of one you’ll need depends on the sea or river bed your boating in. For example if your boating in a Sandy area then you would need a sand anchor. A sand anchor digs itself into the sand when the tide or current pulls on the boat and the rope is tightened.
      That’s just one example of a type of anchor but the is a rule of thumb for the correct length of rope and chain you might need……
      Ok the rule is: the chain length should be the same length as your boat. Then you add rope to that as well. The rope and anchor chain should add up to 3 times the depth of the water your anchoring in.
      Let’s just say your boat is 10ft long,
      The water depth is 7ft.
      Your chain length should be 10ft and you’ll need a total length of 21ft of rope and chain combined so the rope should be 11ft.
      This method should be applied what ever the length of boat or water depth. Yes big boats in deep water will need miles of rope, lol!
      Just follow these basics and you can’t go wrong👍
      The grappling anchor is my choice of weapon and it seems to work well on most surfaces!

    WD40 will wash away grease from deliberately greased surfaces. I wouldn't liberally spray it that way in those areas. I like the dog toy.

    Hey buddy I just bought the same engine. Do you lift that on to the bin yourself? Thanks

    • @Budgee197
      @Budgee197  2 года назад +1

      I actually don’t use the bin anymore because I’ve bought some flushing muffs that attach to a hose pipe. The answer to your question is yes I lifted it in by myself but it is quite a lump and you might need some help with it. It’s not so much the weight of the engine that is heavy but the fact all the weight is at the top and it’s such a cumbersome shape to man handle. Just get some help with it to save any accidents or just get some muffs to attach to your hose pipe, that’s your best bet and no lifting is required!

      @@Budgee197 thanks mate. I was fancying one of those trolleys to be honest. I'll be lifting this engine from car boot to transom by myself sometimes. Hopefully lol. I guess have the transom right next to the boot to make life easier
