MW 2012 was originally supposed to be a sequel to the legendary Most Wanted released in 2005. It used to have a proper story, customisation options, and anything else you would expect from an NFS game. EA forced Criterion to scrap the idea due to the lack of time
At 4:00 you see the rival crash, then if you look at the minimap he rubberbands quickly back into the race. Classic NFS. I still liked the original Most Wanted more.

I really wish Criterion was still the developers of Need For Speed. I loved the sounds, the satisfying back fire and better physics, where the car actually had suspension movement, rather than it being really stiff and the car handling like a Formula One car all the time. If NFS 2012 had customisation... if only. I still playe hours and hours of it though.
The thing I like most in this game is that you don’t need to pay in game money for the cars like you have to in the new games. You just have to find the car and its yours

I played NFSMW 2012 and finished it on 100%. It's a fun game. I also played NFSMW 2005 (couple hundred times) and it's a fun game that we all love. I can say that they are different, they both good for different game design. 2005 is Arcady but has a story that's actually pretty good and interesting. 2012 has a good feel of speed, different physics and burnout feel to it (cause burnout devs cmon). I enjoyed them both but coming back only for 2005 MW...

The first Need For Speeds didn't have stories; they were just about racing exotics away from cops. They had customisation as well, but it wasn't about ricing your car out like in Underground. Really, the new Most Wanted goes back to the 'true meaning of NFS'. I don't get why everyone wants a new Underground; look at the bodykits in that game. Or the vinyls. Or the wheel choices. Or the neon. Nobody modifies their car like that anymore. Nobody. It would just look stupid these days.

Brah, Most wanted 2005 will always be my favorite in the series, however, with the intros for each car at the time in 2012, this game was pretty sick, especially with theclassic DLC
