he’s not much without the pixies. why are they doing reuinion tours all the time? pretty sure they tour more as a reunion piece than he does solo now ?
By far. Not just the most underrated, but hands-down the best American artist ever. They’e standing in the crown not knowing what to think and not realizing that they’re witnessing a true fucking genius so far ahead of his time and they haven’t a clue what’s happening.
A genuine American iconoclast. This album is STILL ahead of its time. One day centuries from now aliens will arrive on our ravaged earth, find his debut album, listen to it, and pen a 10 + review of it on Pitchfork.
I hope Charles knows there is a chunk of us that look at him the way people looked at cobain. Thompson should have gotten the lime light, amazingly written songs all through pixies and solo stuff.
So lucky bro. When?!? I hope too see him on the pixies tour, I hope to God he does some solo shows before he retires (again) I'd travel anywhere on earth for a Frank black show.
no puedo creer que una persona grite y llore mostrando su arte mientras el 99% del público no sabe que pasa. Como llegan a mantener la población los alemanes? porque con esa frialdad no se como llegan al orgasmo. Está tocando Frank Black maldición!!!!!!!
I don't think it's an inhale scream but I could be wrong. It does sound good. There's a live video here of him doing the song "Tame" from his days with the Pixies that sounds like he might be doing inhale screaming at the end. Very powerful stuff.
This is good video of people of that generation only 1% of the audience were Pixies & FB fans and knew who the hell Frank Black was at the time. Cuz even in the heyday of the Pixies they didn't have a lot of fans, I know because I was one of the real!
Hi Bar999ey: I wish I had a live version of "Pray a Little Faster" from this concert because I like the song. I do have "Kicked in the Taco," but I don't recall anything momentous about the ending. Are you sure you weren't thinking of another song? Seems like "Jesus Was Right" may have had a big ending.
hey anybody tell how he does that scream at 1:59 he sharp one is it a inhale scream or a primal? if it's a primal that would be very crazy cause it's so fucking good by the way that scream resembles the scream of john lennon at the song twist and shout
yeah tame is one of my favorite songs by them but i don't think it's inhale "rock music" by the pixies is the most mind blowing and it's a primal scream too cause it's sounds like one
Everything originates Los Angeles South [Santa Monica] Bay. "Help." Is this guy of the Long Beach locale, if perhaps of the Orange County proper itself beneath any way? Would theoretically require to wait on that local Press-Telegram article.
that crowd has no idea who they're watching. Long live FRANK BLACK.
Damn right!!!
not one headbang
he’s not much without the pixies. why are they doing reuinion tours all the time? pretty sure they tour more as a reunion piece than he does solo now ?
So much rock n roll on stage...
I saw this show (same year) in copenhagen it was awesome
Most underrated solo artist of all time.
By far. Not just the most underrated, but hands-down the best American artist ever. They’e standing in the crown not knowing what to think and not realizing that they’re witnessing a true fucking genius so far ahead of his time and they haven’t a clue what’s happening.
I'm glad I got to see Frank on the Cult of Ray tour in the fall of '96; at this point I don't think we will ever see him do a solo tour again.
A genuine American iconoclast. This album is STILL ahead of its time. One day centuries from now aliens will arrive on our ravaged earth, find his debut album, listen to it, and pen a 10 + review of it on Pitchfork.
Solo artist? He's the frontman of the legendary pixies
Solo artist? He was the frontman for Nirvana wtf
Frank looks like a large baby in this video.
Dalton Swayze ha:), especially when he screams.
Lol in this video? He always does but he’s the best large baby songwriter in the world.

I hope Charles knows there is a chunk of us that look at him the way people looked at cobain. Thompson should have gotten the lime light, amazingly written songs all through pixies and solo stuff.
Yes and yes.
Yes, absolutely. I saw him that way...
He's so much more bad ass tho.
A better songwriter than Mr. Cobain, based both on talent and longevity.
Totally underrated. Amazing song.
they just finished their N-Z Tour ( the Pixies are back with a refreshed Frank Black )
What a great performance!
Francis's screams in this song always do it for me.
Also, Lyle Workman fucking rules.

FRANK totally transformed! I love it!!!
Didn't he wrestle Hulk Hogan at wrestlemania 2??.. Kidding!! I love Frank. Seen him many times.
David G he does look like King Kong bundy lol
So lucky bro. When?!? I hope too see him on the pixies tour, I hope to God he does some solo shows before he retires (again) I'd travel anywhere on earth for a Frank black show.
Tony hawks American wasteland
God damn. Normally I like to brag that I didn't hear songs from an external source. But yeah, thanks Tony.
Eric Koston on Yeah Right made the song get into american wasteland
@Colin Mackay keep gatekeeping
I discovered so much music from Tony Hawk. Especially THPS4
@Colin Mackay your reply is one of the most pathetic comments I’ve seen in a long time
I love a good rock song with a B minor chord included.

Nobody realizes they're witnessing a classic.
they were too amazed to move in his awesomness

People aren't noshing because there is only stairs for the crowd
1:51 That moment when your older brother hits you and you hear your mom coming through the front door
Does anyone know what pedal he's using in the solo? Tube Screamer?
Lyle Workman kills it on lead
This song rocks.....
The crowds not even moving! I'd be freaking out
Frank Black is the mother fuckin man.

I´ll wait with you frank!
Power. Pure power. High octane. Feel the Charles.
This song is o fucking righteous.
I don't think it's an inhale scream but I could be wrong. It does sound good. There's a live video here of him doing the song "Tame" from his days with the Pixies that sounds like he might be doing inhale screaming at the end. Very powerful stuff.
