I am , as so many, creating threads for 3D-printing and the Fastener addon worked great for me with no need for tweaking settings to get a proper fit, but when I now need M12x1 thread I see that fasteners only goes to 10mm. This should make me happy, I have uninstalled the 0.19 and will try 0.20. Thank you and subbed 😁😁
Great easy to follow explanation of how to incorporate threaded holes into a project. I’m current using V0.19 - and trying to find the 0.20 download. Subscribed!
Nice clear tutorial, thanks. When I downloaded 19.2 the 'model thread' and 'update' boxes did not appear in the create a hole function - hence no thread was shown. Anybody got any ideas why.
(another) great video. Thank you for keeping us in the loop and showing cool stuff with ver 0.2 I would never have thought to update to a pre-release. But this preview of what's to come Is really useful for my 3d printed project
you can't change the distance of the threads though. Like for a screw with threads really close together. anyone know how to do that?? it's like number of threads per inch or something I can't find it on here at all
You're welcome! I can make a video about your request, thanks for the idea! UPDATE: If i can find the option for thread dimensions in the TechDraw workbench.
Good question, I don't know. Probably when it's finished enough, because it's a small team of developers. There's no specific interval between version releases I think.
@@AllVisuals4U Thanks. Earlier the circle was mot visible due to same color. Now I could do it. 4 big circle and 2 small with thread. Thankyou very much.
Sucks ass making threads in freecad. Takes forever and you literally have to draw the shape of the thread itself, has a ton of steps and sucks. Too bad a feature like this does not exist for freecad unless you use this 100+version outdated package.

Finally, someone who has found a viable way to present printable threads without a university degree!
Thank you 👍😁
No more spirals, finally. This is great feature.
Thanks!
Music is outstanding, and the tute is perfect. Anyone trying to use helix manipulation probably should upgrade to V0.20.1 for these thread details.
Thanks! You're right, FreeCAD 0.20 is the first official version that has the thread modeling feature.

Thank you! FreeCAD 0.20 works perfectly with threads.

Thank you! The 0.20 download is in the description.
Thank you very much! I could not find those two check boxes to make the thread...
Glad i could help, good luck with the threads!
These is awesome video. Thanks from Turkey.
You're welcome!
There's also the Fasteners workbench which is very good to create different threaded things
Yeah you're right, also made a video about this workbench.
the whole software is too difficult to use. we need spoonfed design

You're welcome! Thread is available in the 0.20 pre-release version. See the description.
Mine has issue when doing this it’ll only thread about 1mm I’ve even selected through all I’m using version .21
FreeCAD 1.0 is also out now! Maybe you can try it in there to see how it works out?
Great video. How about showing us how to create a collet screw to tighten a part on to a shaft.
Thank you! interesting! Do you mean an object like this? www.mscdirect.com/product/details/53319448
Something like this? ruclips.net/video/-uD1dg2qHrQ/видео.html

Thanks! One big disadvantage I had was saving a document in this 0.20 version. It showed an error after saving.

You mean fine threads and threads that go halfway through?
how do you model a threaded rod that goes into threaded hole?
You can do that with the Fasteners workbench: ruclips.net/video/WnVuwdxdlio/видео.html
Thanks for a great video i learnt a lot. Can you tell me how to mark say a m10 thread on tech drawing Thanks.
You're welcome! I can make a video about your request, thanks for the idea!

@@AllVisuals4U Thanks, i used annotation but it doesn't match the other measurements and it has no line. Again thanks a lot
Hm....i got an error on my part Linked shape object is empty? any suggestions..1?
Hi, can you describe when you get that error exactly?
@@AllVisuals4U Ah solved it myself apparently, I have change to construction line...
Good job! 👍
Can we make screws with this feature too?
For screws you can dowbload the Fasteners workbench. It's shown in this video: ruclips.net/video/Q-9UVHfhfx8/видео.html.
When will FreeCad 0.2 be available as a stable release?

Hi I am new to CAD, can u pl. tell me step by step. I could not get the design.
Hi, which FreeCAD version do you use? The threads showed in the video are not possible in 0.19 or older.
@@AllVisuals4U 0.20
I want 4 shapes similar to the one shown in the video. 2 circles smaller.
You can draw two (smaller) circles and then add thread. After that you draw the other circles and also add another thread with the Hole feature.
@@AllVisuals4U Thanks. Earlier the circle was mot visible due to same color. Now I could do it. 4 big circle and 2 small with thread. Thankyou very much.
You're welcome!
How to delete a hole from an existing file ?
You can select the Hole feature in the tree on the left. The press Delete to remove it completely. The sketch with circles will not be removed then.
@@AllVisuals4U thanks, I'll try it tomorrow
hi, how to get freecad 0.20 ? please tell me
There's a link in the description. Or go to the downloads section on the FreeCAD website and click on the link of the weekly builds below.
@@AllVisuals4U many thanks,
@@saifujiwara3941 Please can you help me? Downloaded the .7z - file with 277MB and extracted it. What is the next step? Thanks
I think you can move the complete folder to your program files and start it from there. In the Bin map is the file to start FreeCAD!
@@AllVisuals4U Thanks a lot.
Thanks
👍
Musak? Nope. Next. With very poor resolution graphics; unable to clearly see menu selections - just why?
🔇 It should be 1080P.
👍✌🥃
You're welcome! 🍺
the backgrond music after one minutes of the same thing it is annoying
Mute it😉 Hope the video helped!
I hate silent movies!
Then enjoy the music 😉

this software suite is shit. there is a learnign curve. fail. get 3d builder to have a thread function in stead. much better.
please go to 3d builder, menu, feedback. or feedback hub and upvote the smart things.
Is 3D Builder also a parametric design modeler?
