As a Swiss person, I love how the Raclette Grill was described as a showstopper. They are really common here and are often seen at local festivals. Traditionally you melt the cutting edge on a half-wheel of cheese by an open fire, but there are also grills that let you do that. But my favourite raclette story happened at uni. Two students sat in the outdoor area of the cafeteria and like the legends they were, casually pulled out a small grill like in the video, put on the cheese, pulled out boiled potatoes, an assortment of sliced meats and a big jar of pickles.
Cheesemonger tools always seem a bit more on the "this is the way its always been done" rather than "this is the most practical way to cut cheese". But still, neat!
I agree. Half the tools are not required. But it's still done. I think it's more of a traditional craft rather than just eating cheese. So these tools do look nice.
The most practical way is the way Kraft and Sargento do it: automation and large-scale assembly line production. Taste and "soul" suffer which is why this way is so awesome, it's more artful.
The history of cheese is very long. There was already cheese in ancient Korea. South Korea mastered the practice of cheese thousands of years earlier than Europe.
Why dont you use a dutch cheese knife instead of the machete, is has a handle on both ends of the knife so you dont hurt your hand pushing down. Looks more like a cheesemonger tool to
Plastics in contact with hot foodstuffs? No thank you, we have enough chemical exposure through basically everything. Just use a hard grain wood instead please.
Very cool and interesting. I love when we get videos that actually teach us something new.
Thank you Nicola.

Watching this before lunch was a good idea because now I’m definitely hungry 😆
This has made me realize that cheesemongers would make pretty good assassins. They've got all the tools in the shop already!

literally watching this vid cuz of my lowkey cheese themed dnd character lmao 😭

So fun at a party huh
My cheese practically cuts itself
I don't know why I watched this whole thing, but it was so good lol
Fascinating😄 I definitely need to get a Raclette Grill now!

This takes cutting the cheese to a whole new level

Wow! Really informative! Thank you Nicola! ❤️
I was drooling the entire time watching this video lolol
Never heard the term cheesemonger but she seems to really know her stuff! Sick vid
I was just thinking that to myself :p
Yes. Every Fancy grocery store has one.
Blessed are the cheesemongers!
Thanks for the video! having the right tools for the job is important.
Informative. Cool. Thanks ✌️
This was an amazing video 🤩
im a newbie pastry chef
but cheeses like castelrosso really bugs me.....they are packed with flavors
but hard to cut....
10:26 I’m fully on board with everything going on here.
Cheeselady: “This is a double headed wire”
Luca Brasi: “You’re telling me a died to a cheese wire?”
Not me looking up these tools on Amazon 😭😭
this is really interesting, also i love their hair colour.
I worked as a cheesemonger and handiest tools are definitely a wire block and a Dutch cheese knife (not seen here).
Rest in peace miss saxelby
This is great!
Is prosciutto a type of cheese now?
Nice!
Cheesemonger is that what we are calling them these days.
Everything you need to cut the cheese
Didn't know that Prosciutto is a cheese
May I have some cheese?
Nice
Omg I love you so much cheese lady 😁
Anyone think the Cheesemonger sounded like linustechtips?
Cheesemonger sells meat?
it's a similar product animal protein and fat + salt + time
They sell meats that pair well with cheese for cheese boards and tastings.
Hi Sharon
Who would have thought that cheese mongrels need so many tools. Mongrels and ghouls are sorta my speciality

We wanna see Brad😤😤😤
🤔🍎
Respect for the ukrainian flag! Thank you for your help!
Those tools are neat and all but I bet I could break down cheese faster with no practice...
I get to use power tools of course
That paddle is not polyurethane- maybe high-density polyethylene
Wrong.
This is making me miss the other cheese monger. R.I.P.
I miss her
This guy is super passionate about his job. Props to him.
Everything makes sense now
It’s actually she
@@fanofallaroundaudreyandjus544 Sorry I can tell. You dont need to correct me. Its a man.
@@giffica for sure. I was getting uncanny valley impressions the whole time.
@@giffica It’s a girl.
seeing people cope because of her hair color is better than the cheese
We need more white people back on this show
It's a trap !
They look and sound like they identify as “offended”
I only need a knife and my teeth. I love all sorts of cheese and those two tools served me well for half a century of eating cheese.
Apparently they just mean general market people not specifically cheesemongers.
🤨🧐 wait a minute….
so weird he doesn't know the actual proper names for the knives and tools.

@@michaltaranza365 she refers to herself as "she", yet you still somehow seem to be confused. She isn't leaving much open to interpretation.
Clearly you're another worthless child who thinks you're edgy.
You really should bring your hand that close to the deli saw
Your safety is more important than the perfect shape of some prosciutto

Man, this channel really took a beating just to oblige the current status quo. Every video used to see no less than half a million views. Sad to see.
Stopped caring when I saw the hair. I don't eat liberal cheese
loser
Lmaooooo
Yes, please do us all a favor and stick to a pure meat diet like the lobster king.
Is this a male or a female?
This a man? Or a chick.

Sanitation rules may require plastic.
