Lever vs Twist on Manfrotto BeFree Video tripods

2018-11-24 This is not a review or anything. I just wanted to see how fast I could extend or shorten the legs of these 2 tripods. Personally, I like the lever better than the twist, so I kept the level one (after discount, the price came to about $120). After 1.5 years (March 2020), it is still going strong as I have brought the tripod to Saint Lawrence River (when it was frozen in the winter), beaches, many hikes in New England, as well as many indoor/outdoor events.

The trick is to unlock all the twists at once then extend the tripod, not unlock one by one like that.

You can do the same thing with levers. If you flip all levers on one leg at the same time you'll be faster (compared to a twist lock).

Thanks. I was comparing the two as well and felt the lever one is faster. Does lever comes in carbon? Is it heavier than twist?
