I agree with you 100%! 👍The seating position is the best I've ever had. I know what I'm talking about, I have owned and have had 650s, Ferrari 458, F12, Portofino, 992 GT3, Nissan GTR, AMG GTR, I'm 2.03m tall it took me forever to position myself correctly in the 675 Spider. It took at least as long for the chassis to be adjusted correctly, so it was optimally set for my needs for both track and country roads. Conclusion: I love this car and I will never sell it unless I absolutely have to.
I'm actually considering buying one right now. I just sold my 570s a few weeks ago and looking for a replacement. I am a driver, not necessarily on the track, but I love to drive. Im 29 years old and have owned exotics for 2 years now. Cannot get enough. If I told you I can get a 675LT spider for around 250k with less than 3k miles, would that be a solid deal today in your opinion considering the other options like a 2020 600LT spider etc..
Basically, you summed up why I got a 650 LM...limited production, roof scoop, and I bought all the parts to convert to 675lt suspension/steering rack. 1/50
It’s so true how the bright, somewhat lairy colours have recently become less popular, in favour of the more subtle and classy. I wonder though how many, like myself, are still unconditionally drawn to the bold and more flashy. That “just right” car/colour combination is truly something to behold. That McLaren Orange 675LT is nothing short of stunning. The only thing better than one of those is, well a second, without a roof. Great job!
These could be two of my favourite spec 675 LT's. So clean, love the blue so much, but also having a 675LT with a roof scoop is pretty rare, love it Robert oh and congrats on the E30 M3
Your channel is absolutely the best! I am very surprised about the heating problem is still living in the 620R as it was built for basically a GT4 race specs for the road and I might never know that because there probably no one out there talks or even know about this too. Thank you as always Robert 21:29 I guess we need to really try to push so that you get that Tier 1 access from McLaren to get a press 765 to take it to the Ring!!!
Wow, This is real talk, Thank you for sharing your insights! I tend to believe now that limited editions are getting popular that you can just wait for yet another “limited” edition....
Still amazed how you can “ramble on” for 20+ minutes in 1 take and non stop, but still full of information and concise. Your insights make viewers like me feel much closer to these hyper cars than I ever will. Thank you very much.
Hey Robert. Mike from Chicago here. Been following you for awhile now and really enjoy your perspective and thought out opinions. First time commenting on any video and your garage looks amazing. Wish I can make it out to Apex some day! Keep the awesome content coming!
Thank you so much for the compliments! I really am happy with how the garage has turned out still a little odds and ends that I want to do like decorate it with cool car memorabilia inside the cabinets but that’ll happen over time. Stay warm in Chicago, spent plenty of Christmas is there an absolutely love it in the winter time
There's definitely something about mclarens that show you as being more a driving enthusiast rather than say a ferrari showing you're more a flashy car enthusiast. All of yours are exquisite in their own ways, having no roof is definitely an experience!
I might be in the minority but that orange 675LT might be the prettiest McLaren you own. I think everyone loves the blue spider but I love track focused look of the LT. My favorite car you own.
I just fell in love with McClarens cause of you Robert. Will never own one cause way too expensive for my budget. But if i had to pick one it would be a 620R. Just for the whole concept of the car and i would track the hell out of it! That or a 997.2 or a 991.2 porsche gt3 rs. Those are my dream track tools. Great video again! Cheers!
Those colors you've chosen fit super cars very well, on the other hand all regular and sport cars are great in darker blue or dark(ish) green 👌 Well, red is a classic....

I must be weird because I get more excited about old ///M cars than mclarens, Porsches, ferraris etc etc. I do like your LT’s but absolutely love your E30 M3.

Hi Robert.. just a quik Hi & Bye cos we're on the road today heading for our favorite holiday camping spot! Lookin forward to watching the full video first chance I get!💕 Godbless & hava great New Yrs day🙂
Robert you are a lucky man, thanx for sharing the passion with us. I'm hoping to get a 650S in about 1 and a half to 2 year. 675LT is the best looking Mac to me but demands double the money by us in SA. If the 720S would depreciate more that might also be an option.
I agree we are very lucky to have access to all of these cars!. The 650 as is without a doubt a good car however if you were budgeting for their pricing now as you mentioned the 720 might be within your reach when the time comes :-)
@@RobertMitchell jip it seems asif 720S might be in reach by then. Only small issue is the 650S looks sooo much better to me. Won't track it to much though, that is what the Megane and S2000 is for. Lol
I've always loved both your and Rich's 675LT coupes. I'd say they're the top 2 best spec'd 675LTs in the world. Sad that you couldn't get the Mexico Blue coupe but I'm glad that you got McLaren Orange cuz damn does it look amazing in your spec. This works out rather well for the world since we now have 2 more beautifully spec'd 675LTs as to having 2 boring twins. If you or Rich were to sell your cars, I'd love to own either one. Hell, I'd even buy both 😂
And I agree on you completely on the 765. Every time a LT comes out people get excited. But there's something missing in the 765. Maybe it's just that the 720 is too good. I heard they were having a hard time keeping the 765 track times much below the 720.
The 720 really is a good car and set a very high benchmark for the brand. The 765 has some aggressive luxe but just doesn’t feel as special compared to what the 675 did. Time will tell and maybe I’ll change my mind
Lots of cars are black, silver or grey etc. My own cars included. But there is just something that makes a bright colored supercar even look better. Like for example the McLaren's, I think the blue and orange suit them really well. It doesn't suit every car, but in this case it makes it a bit more special to me.
Also, as someone who visits the ring but uses a wheelchair as well as a Ferrari... what’s the accessibility like at the various hotels bars and restaurants In the area...hey you might even want to have the option to fit hand controls to one of your fleet cars...
The 675 is my favourite McLaren, but to have two.... shear heaven ! Happy New Year to you & your family, I just hope this year won't be as challenging as the last one...
A good honest evaluation on 675LT’s It confirms my feelings on why i bought a 720s. A 675LT is a great drivers car but you can get similar from a 600LT and a 720s is an infinitely better road car. Also the exclusivity has been watered down with over 1,000 of them being made Only time will tell but the 765LT is a more advanced car and will I think in time consign the 675LT to being less desirable
I was between a 2020 600 and a 675. The 675 was 248k and the 600 250k.. Went with the 600 I just love the exhaust set up and they pretty much run the same qtr mile lol
Another great video Robert, agree with your comments and I've owned initially a 675LT Coupe, then swapping to a 675LT spider. Great explanation of the roof scoop which I didn't have and have not experienced yet, makes perfect sense. I find the spider suits what I'm going to use the car for a lot better as not going to be tracking it. ;)
I can´t tell you how much i appreciate the calm/simple and cool settings for your videos. No offence to other youtubers, but sometimes watching videos edited to the max and the screen/focus moving around like crazy is quite annoying at times, it also take away from the actual story. As an olderr gent myself, i am really exited about your E30 M3. I will follow that build with a binoculars. I had a very nice E30 325 slightly tuned back in the day. Loved that car in every way, well besides maybe trying to get from A to B in the snow...hahaha
I am glad that you enjoy this style of video! I know that we are going to have to eventually put some B roll in and shots of the cars being built, right now we are working on the concept for that so that it stays calm and relaxing in the same manner. I’m really excited to start presenting that
I understand you’ve, very graciously, pushed back the Team Schirmer E36 project to allow someone else’s car to be built, but I’m really excited to see that (even over the E30)!
Even though I'm brazilian I've never cared or knew this much about McLarens, until I started watching your channel. Now I finally understand their differences and nuances. I guess McLaren's terrible tier 3 marketing is to blame. I've already started saving money to visit Apex, and hopefully feel the experience for myself! To bad we can't do laps back to back on each McLaren you own!
Thank you for being one of the most honest and positive channels on RUclips. You're both an inspiration and a cause for major envy. That said, maybe look into running the microphone a little less hot when recording, it sounds a little distorted even at low volume. Rather record at a lower DB level and amplify in post for improved clarity. Sorry to nitpick, but as a tier one sub :p I feel it's my duty to improve the production value for the hundreds of thousands who are soon going to flood in.
Thanks for the support GT club! Cool thing is that everyone here so respectful it was a honest curious question and I’m totally down with that :-) have a great day
A few years ago ( bevor you had the YT-chanel) i saw you driving with your coupe thru Böblingen and my first thought was this is the car of salomondrin😂 ( i love the roof scoop) Happy new year
I love hearing your thoughts on these cars and honest opinion on ownership. I’ll never own a car like these but really enjoy your feedback as a petrolhead 👍
You mentioned not being able to personalise the spider without going over the top, what about a wrap and some pinstripes along the diffuser and the splitter and then change the colour of the callipers
Can you make a video talking about crazy stories regarding passengers in taxi laps? And also, thanks for the consistency at the end of 2020, it really helped me fight anxiety
I find it interesting that some have said the 765LT doesn't have the same integrated, balanced feeling of the 675LT. If that is the case, then the 675LT will grow in stature as a car where "they just got everything right".
A breakdown of the maintenance costs and about the reliability of these cars would be interesting. Especially because I am planning on buying a 650s or 570s this year (which should be slightly cheaper as a 675lt) ... But if the yearly costs exceed 12.000 Euros (insurance / extended warranty included), i´ll look out for a Porsche GT3 ...
I’ve mentioned a 36 and a couple videos recently, I’m letting another car slide in before mine is built. I think it will be Midsummer :-) and you’re right McLaren create their own biggest challenges
@@RobertMitchell alright then ! Sorry i was just expecting the build to be nearly ready and in a dedicated video by now, so i missed the update ! Can’t wait to see that, it’s going to be mega !
Would you take a Bugatti Bolide when it`s good on the Nürburgring? - Joking! Happy new year! - Directly an interesting video on the first day. THX for that! Can`t wait for testing and driving content in 2021.
I was on the the search for a 675LT or a 600LT....and comparing both i went 675LT...the car is much mor beautiful and has much more presence. In terms of value and investment the 675LT is going to value more of course.
I'm in the health sector and watching you track cars takes away the stress l sometimes experience at work and glad you're addressing covid 19 nay sayers
Ahhh Robert, the answer to why I have 2 675’s is simple.... because you can. Needs no explaining to me, I get it. They are awesome cars, why not have two? Happy New Year! PS- where’s the cocktail intro? Was beginning to really like that👍
Enjoyed the video. I hope Mclaren are in regular contact with you at a senior level, there can’t be many other customers better qualified to give feedback on their products. Would love to get your opinion on the 765 around the track, seems to be mixed opinions but not sure all these tier 1 media guys have the skills to judge this type of vehicle.
I really enjoy how you can explain the characteristics of the car, how it handles, how it reacts, downsides etc. It's one of the reasons I started following you beside that you are cool guy that has same passion :-) I found out that i enjoy watching also e-bike vids too even through Im not the one who would or could buy one

Robert couple of ideas for you. What about some sort of local area wise guide for us travellers visiting the n,ring area. Where we could stay,(big plug for your hotel obviously) but what about the others in the area..where are the best restaurants and bars while we are visiting, anything else we should definitely do whilst at the ring etc, history or great back roads you know the sort of things petrol heads are gonna want to see..
Hi robert, just a quick suggestion for a future Q&A: should you buy a cheap car and put a lot of modification into it, or should You buy a more expensive but not modify it. For around the same budget at the end and for track use mostly.
Thank you Robert! Awesome in garage car review talk; quick of the starting line, setting the New Year pace 😃 Practical sense, the audio appears to cut out when you pause for thought, and the lapel mic, if it has the usual interview shape, usually is more effective mounted bit lower and upside down, just as with the news crew 👍 (less peaking, less distortion, balanced, better sound) Hope this helps with your future videos, thank you :)
@@RobertMitchell Certainly worth the try :) Aim towards you just a little bit further than you would think is necessary, LHD or RHD, set from above or down from underneath, clamp it on a decent boom or mic stand and make sure the whole thing is out of harms way for the talent and the camera operator. Also get the stand weighed down, I have learned, to avoid the mics 'downfall'. This is what I have learned, see how you get on! Oh, and pair of overear headphones for camera operator during shoot, a worthwhile purchase, I hope it benefits you , thanks 👍
This is what I love with yours and Misha”s channel, you are both open about everything. Do you still have the 720s as that is my friends favourite car. Another great video Robert, agree with your comments and I've owned initially a 675LT Coupe, then swapping to a 675LT spider. Great explanation of the roof scoop which I didn't have and have not experienced yet, makes perfect sense. I find the spider suits what I'm going to use the car for a lot better as not going to be tracking it. ;)
Really enjoy the videos, would love to see that video of you driving and then sitting in the passenger seat you mentioned!
Happy that you recovered from your ordeal Robert. I am enjoying your content.
I’m really excited to start presenting that
Nice Way to Start 2021 thanks!!👌
Happy new year!
Happy New Year Robert.
Wishing Both You, Tiffany and Munchkins An Amazing and Blessed Year Ahead.
Cheers Carlyle
Happy new year and thank you so much Carlyle!
I understand you’ve, very graciously, pushed back the Team Schirmer E36 project to allow someone else’s car to be built, but I’m really excited to see that (even over the E30)!
Yes I think the 36 will be pretty 🔥🔥🔥
Really enjoyed a listen to your reasoning behind the cars.Looking forward to the next instalment 👍
If I had the money...I'd have 5! Perfectly logical
heheh
Talking about the 3.8 motor...... I really think people get confused, between boost thresholds and actual horrible old Turbo Lag.
100% accurate statement
The answer should be "Because I wanted them" and that's it, you don't need to justify your purchases! They are mega cars, keep up the good work
Thanks for the support GT club! Cool thing is that everyone here so respectful it was a honest curious question and I’m totally down with that :-) have a great day
Spot on. And a great set because I've Just installed Philips 'hue' 😍👍
A few years ago ( bevor you had the YT-chanel) i saw you driving with your coupe thru Böblingen and my first thought was this is the car of salomondrin😂 ( i love the roof scoop) Happy new year
Appreciate Robert making time every day to release a video for us.
I love hearing your thoughts on these cars and honest opinion on ownership. I’ll never own a car like these but really enjoy your feedback as a petrolhead 👍
Glad you can get some insight. I think it’s really fun to share as it’s a world we may not understand
Your mexico blue LT spider looks waaay better than shmee's purple one. Even though I love shmee
You mentioned not being able to personalise the spider without going over the top, what about a wrap and some pinstripes along the diffuser and the splitter and then change the colour of the callipers
Love those 675lt’s 👍
u n me both Maccy!
Can you make a video talking about crazy stories regarding passengers in taxi laps? And also, thanks for the consistency at the end of 2020, it really helped me fight anxiety
hehe that could be a lot of fun really.. have to be careful not to offend anyone tho
@@RobertMitchell Imagine if you go to VinWIKI lots of amazing stories!!
This was an awesome video Robert! Can you do a side by side and track comparison between the 675LT coupe and 620R?
I find it interesting that some have said the 765LT doesn't have the same integrated, balanced feeling of the 675LT. If that is the case, then the 675LT will grow in stature as a car where "they just got everything right".
A breakdown of the maintenance costs and about the reliability of these cars would be interesting. Especially because I am planning on buying a 650s or 570s this year (which should be slightly cheaper as a 675lt) ... But if the yearly costs exceed 12.000 Euros (insurance / extended warranty included), i´ll look out for a Porsche GT3 ...
Buy the Porsche. It’s the Honda Civic of supercars and it holds its value WAY better than a McLaren. 👍
Great informative video, maybe some information on why the certain number plates?
I had overheating issues in my 570s in like high 30c low 40c but not in my 675LT in the same track day with similar laps
Very interesting ! Yeah McLaren has shot itself in the foot with all these specials. Still wanting to hear about the E36 build 😀
@@htc_b No need at all to apologize!
I think mclaren where pumping out the models near as quick as a vw golf. Really looking forward to tomorrow’s video.
tier 1 media stuff. Watched your previous video man. Wishing your joy and health in 2021
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed :-)
I'm in the health sector and watching you track cars takes away the stress l sometimes experience at work and glad you're addressing covid 19 nay sayers
@@mabee7ify thank you again for the work you are doing for all of us!!!!

Thank you for your videos. Very interesting.
Don't bother about negative posts.
Why are they watching. Lol. Portsmouth England.
Ahhh Robert, the answer to why I have 2 675’s is simple.... because you can. Needs no explaining to me, I get it. They are awesome cars, why not have two? Happy New Year!
PS- where’s the cocktail intro? Was beginning to really like that👍
haha yeah, ill keep the cocktails up.. maybe just not EVERY day ;)
amazing video Robert!!! Love the way how you explain everything!!
We do have some great contacts there but I think they should utilize it much more than I do.
You wanted 1 out of 500, now you have 2 out of 1000, isn't that the same? 😂
the price wasn't!
Make sure you reinforce the chassis for safety Robert! On such an old car (M3) the crash structure would be scary
I’ve done some research and the car is decent. Of course not perfect my any means and a concern. No high speed autobahn blasts scheduled ;-)
I really enjoy how you can explain the characteristics of the car, how it handles, how it reacts, downsides etc. It's one of the reasons I started following you beside that you are cool guy that has same passion :-) I found out that i enjoy watching also e-bike vids too even through Im not the one who would or could buy one
I’m glad that you’re able to get a little bit out of the videos! I really do try to communicate feelings as best I can

I’m glad to have you on the channel and especially here in the comment section
Robert couple of ideas for you.
What about some sort of local area wise guide for us travellers visiting the n,ring area. Where we could stay,(big plug for your hotel obviously) but what about the others in the area..where are the best restaurants and bars while we are visiting, anything else we should definitely do whilst at the ring etc, history or great back roads you know the sort of things petrol heads are gonna want to see..
Loved this. Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Simple question simple answer: cause you could
answer works :)
Hi robert, just a quick suggestion for a future Q&A: should you buy a cheap car and put a lot of modification into it, or should You buy a more expensive but not modify it. For around the same budget at the end and for track use mostly.
Thank you Robert! Awesome in garage car review talk;
quick of the starting line, setting the New Year pace 😃
Practical sense, the audio appears to cut out when you
pause for thought, and the lapel mic, if it has the usual
interview shape, usually is more effective mounted bit
lower and upside down, just as with the news crew 👍
(less peaking, less distortion, balanced, better sound)
Hope this helps with your future videos, thank you :)
Yes, had a few struggles today we’re actually going to go with the boom mic to clean things up a little bit if you think that would sound better
Why? Because I can! ** 🎤 drop**
hehe
This is what I love with yours and Misha”s channel, you are both open about everything. Do you still have the 720s as that is my friends favourite car. He has never been in one, but if you have still got yours then I think he will be coming with me on a road trip to see you. Happy New Year guys and keep up the good work.👍
