I don't know about other African countries but in Nigeria, we don't use coins anymore; a big obstacle for vending machines.. If a card can be incorporated, it would work in Nigeria

I love the fresh flowers idea I am a event planner who also makes flowers for Events in the US. I will love to get into the fresh flowers business when I get back to Cameroon 😅
In my opinion on the vending machine business is that it is a good idea but you need to be specific about where you are going to place them and be sure no one is going to break it and steal stuff from it so that should be a focus point where you target areas where there isn't much crime happening so your inventory is safe being left alone unsupervised.
Flowers are plentiful in Eastern and Southern Africa as the weather there is conducive. Some are grown in the greenhouse as well. And most land up in Holland and other places in Europe. It’s not a cheap business to go into and labour intensive as well as flowers are fragile.
I like the idea of cultivation of flowers because here in Africa we have enough land to cultivate natural flowers rather than going for artificial flowers bought from foreign magazines . In fact I really really like the idea of flower cultivation. Keep up.

For vending machines: I knew 2 people who placed vending machines in 1 university. Made a lottt of money - students love study snacks at night. So you’re also allowed to pick a v specific market & places where those safety risks are mitigated.

Lets also look at the cons and practicality of some of these business in a real situation of African streets before one dive in - Vending machine challenges - Robbery/sabotage and Power cut issues, fake coins the same you will say to the automatic car wash business.
When we do our feasibility studies, pro & cons, business plan etc you'll get it right. With the vendor machine business you approach businesses, shopping malls, private business with waiting rooms even government offices and offer them rental space. Well done madam for bringing these ideas out there.

A lot of Real Estate company now are even doing the short term investment opportunities called Real Estate Cashback investment scheme where you get 30% upward within 12months or more on your investment It all depends on the company and their terms and condition. Landbanking not a new thing in Lagos
The problem in Africa is that we don't have the foundations to quickly start a business. All these business ideas require a good network of electricity, water, etc. Without that, everything would be very expensive.

However I want to highlight a contradiction in the last idea - The way I know automated car washes work, won't the customer need to be sitting in their car in other to drive through the phases of the car washing? So they will not be able to sip a drink at the drink joint while their car is being washed. I think. But the vending machine can actually be combined with the auto car wash. The main challenge with the vending machine would be security concerns -vandalism and theft?
