Congratulations Cebuanos! Must've been really proud especially this is the first bridge of its kind in the country and also the first ever tollway outside of Luzon! May this bridge attract investors to build such more infrastructures needed in the growing island of Cebu.
What is even more remarkable is when Manny Pangilinan said in his speech during the inauguration that CCLEX is the best example of a successful public-private partnership in a local government level. He further claim CCLEX could be a template for future major local PPP in the country as they're looking for another local PPP project in Cebu. In fact, Manny Pangilinan also submitted his offer to build Metro Cebu Expressway (MCE) in February 2020, this time, with Cebu Provincial government as their partner after Duterte cancelled the project in late 2019.
This drive was a convoy drive led by MPTC Patrol Vehicle. We were instructed to follow the convoy and no overtaking. This wasn't the normal and usual bridge traffic. That's why there were instances we were driving at the center of the 2 lanes because we were all following the vehicle ahead of us (Convoy of vehicles led by MPTC). You may refer at the start of the video where an MPTC personnel were instructing to follow the convoy🚓🚗🚗🚗. Hence, all vehicles were hazzard lights on. Our speed during the entire 8.9 kms drive of CCLEX ranged from around 20kph to 45kph as we were all following the vehicle ahead of us while maintaining a good distance. 🙂Thank you everyone for your understanding. @Glorious Visitation....CCLEX is not a national government project. Pls don't spoil the celebration of the Cebuanos for the first locally-initiated and locally-implemented major project in the country. Duterte has no hands in this project. CCLEX is a pure local joint venture project of Cebu City and Cordova LGUs with MPIC as their partner investor. CCLEX is the first major local PPP project in the country and we Cebuanos are proud of it without the help of the national government because all Duterte could do was to blabber about his BBB but never gets done. All the planned projects for Cebu that his minions pitched in May 2017 during the national roadshow presentation were all not started and remain drawings. Cebuanos were thankful that a private investor (Manny Pangilinan through MPIC) submitted his unsolicited proposal in 2014 to Cebu City and Cordova local councils to build the project. His proposal was approved unanimously by both councils in less than a year, in early 2015. During his speech, Manny Pangilinan acknowledged and credited Cebu City and Cordova LGUs for allowing his company to partner with them to build the bridge. He never mentioned the national government or Duterte who was present or the BBB. Even Duterte himself thanked and credited Cebu City and Cordova local officials and Manny Pangilinan himself for their partnership. Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama even clarified that the project started during Pnoy admin where he was also the Cebu City mayor in 2014 and approved it. No one mentioned or credited the national government, Duterte, DPWH and the BBB and rightfully so for the CCLEX. So stop spreading disinformation.
@@lionhearted1969 PPP is also a government strategy sir, hindi rin makaka access ang private sector kung walang permit galing government specially sa public roads which is under DPWH kaya pansin mo mula ground breaking at turn over ng project nandyan ang DPWH and PPRD. Hindi rin pwdi na local government ng cebu alone nag initiate ng project dahil lahat ng mga public highways kahit local ang dpwh parin ang may handle from permit, approve planning, inspection etc.

I really appreciate your late cousin (Addy Sitoy) for approving (along with Mike Rama) the unsolicited proposal by Manny Pangilinan way back in 2014. Since the news made headlines in local newspapers in 2014 and 2015 from the submission, to approval to groundbreaking to signing of joint venture agreements (JVA) in April 2016, I started to keep track of this project and I had no doubt that the project will be realized after knowing that it was an unsolicited proposal by no less than the reputable Manny Pangilinan. If it were initiated by the national government, I would never place my hope for anything said by the national government as has been proven already many times before.

The absolutely best part of this experience was that there were no motorbikes, no junky jeepnys and no dumb jaywalkers. It was like driving in another world. Great!
Ang ganda kudos to people behind the success of the project it will definitely create jobs from tellers, guards, enforcers, maintenance etc. May concern lang po ako sa mga 125cc motorcycles masyado silang lightweight pag may mag overtake sakanila na sasakyan at 80kmph for sure hahanginin sila that might make them loose control well see once it's fully operational.

@Glorious Visitation....CCLEX is not a national government project. Pls don't spoil the celebration of the Cebuanos for the first locally-initiated and locally-implemented major project in the country. Duterte has no hands in this project. CCLEX is a pure local joint venture project of Cebu City and Cordova LGUs with MPIC as their partner investor. CCLEX is the first major local PPP project in the country and we Cebuanos are proud of it without the help of the national government because all Duterte could do was to blabber about his BBB but never gets done. All the planned projects for Cebu that his minions pitched in May 2017 during the national roadshow presentation were all not started and remain drawings. Cebuanos were thankful that a private investor (Manny Pangilinan through MPIC) submitted his unsolicited proposal in 2014 to Cebu City and Cordova local councils to build the project. His proposal was approved unanimously by both councils in less than a year, in early 2015. During his speech, Manny Pangilinan acknowledged and credited Cebu City and Cordova LGUs for allowing his company to partner with them to build the bridge. He never mentioned the national government or Duterte who was present or the BBB. Even Duterte himself thanked and credited Cebu City and Cordova local officials and Manny Pangilinan himself for their partnership. Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama even clarified that the project started during Pnoy admin where he was also the Cebu City mayor in 2014 and approved it. No one mentioned or credited the national government, Duterte, DPWH and the BBB and rightfully so for the CCLEX. So stop spreading disinformation.

@@lionhearted1969 PPP is also a government strategy sir, hindi rin makaka access ang private sector kung walang permit galing government specially sa public roads which is under DPWH kaya pansin mo mula ground breaking at turn over ng project nandyan ang DPWH and PPRD. Hindi rin pwdi na local government ng cebu alone nag initiate ng project dahil lahat ng mga public highways kahit local ang dpwh parin ang may handle from permit, approve planning, inspection etc.

I really appreciate your late cousin (Addy Sitoy) for approving (along with Mike Rama) the unsolicited proposal by Manny Pangilinan way back in 2014. Since the news made headlines in local newspapers in 2014 and 2015 from the submission, to approval to groundbreaking to signing of joint venture agreements (JVA) in April 2016, I started to keep track of this project and I had no doubt that the project will be realized after knowing that it was an unsolicited proposal by no less than the reputable Manny Pangilinan. If it were initiated by the national government, I would never place my hope for anything said by the national government as has been proven already many times before.
Praise God Almighty father Lord Jesus Christ we worship love & thanks thee,for peace grace love joy mercy & the success of the Cclex project that thee provide us in Cebu also thanks to coordination PRRD officials Mptc & all technical engineers local & foreigners who done the jobs to all cebuanos Godbless us in this universe,,,amen.

Ang ganda kudos to people behind the success of the project it will definitely create jobs from tellers, guards, enforcers, maintenance etc. May concern lang po ako sa mga 125cc motorcycles masyado silang lightweight pag may mag overtake sakanila na sasakyan at 80kmph for sure hahanginin sila that might make them loose control well see once it's fully operational.
