In an age where information is at our fingertips and AI like ChatGPT holds the spotlight, how do we navigate the waves of data without getting lost at sea?
In this lecture, we'll discuss the evolution of education intertwined with technology. From the philosophical to the practical, we’ll explore how to harness critical thinking to steer effectively through the digital expanse. We will also look at various examples of using AI assistants in education, both by teachers and students, transforming how we learn, teach, and think.
Speaker: Alexander Avdiushenko
Alexander is a passionate educator and machine learning expert with over eight years of extensive and varied experience in IT, data analysis, and educational program development in the tech industry. He currently resides in Paphos, Cyprus and works at JetBrains. Before this, he was the Head of ML Programs at Yandex, where he enrolled over 100 students in partner master's programs and organized a comprehensive machine learning course. He also served as an associate professor and head of an educational program at Saint Petersburg State University, where he launched a popular data science bachelor’s program and was highly evaluated by students and colleagues.

Interesting topic, thanks for the talk. I would say the history part could be condensed into couple sentences. The point of including the personal story, apart from listing your achievements, was not clear to me. The student cases were the most interesting to me and I'd like to see those more in-depth. The conclusion was very vague and did not offer any practical takeaways. Excited to see you develop this topic in your further talks.
