Great video. I’m wondering which one would be better in a 2011 LP Traditional. I’m going to do one of them not sure which one sound better in the mix playing Worship. The Grinders sound great on your guitar but I’m thinking your guitar is naturally brighter . Need some help 🤔
Doing the P&W community a HUGE service! Well done, Zach! I have a set of each in different guitars and love being able to go between them because I love them both. Kudos!
I got to use my grinders for the first time in church this morning and they did not disappoint, they were very responsive to pick attack, the tones were just there. I ran with my pod go rig and had no problems with a clean tone or with that sweet break up tone and I don’t use heavy gain. They did everything I needed them to do!
Fantastic video! I’ve been drooling over both of these pickups. And the real conclusion is there’s no wrong answer! For me I will purchase the cremas first. I love the clarity they offer. I’m a sucker for clean tones. Thanks again!
Late to the game but loved the video! Black Friday deals are here so I am trying to decide haha. I’m have a lambertones blondie in my bridge and leaning towards the crema for my neck!
Dang! I can’t wait to get my set! I was so hesitant on which to get. I have triple shots w/ creama bridge. And I’m getting my cream neck/grinder bridge on wensday! Thanks for this awesome video!
Dude that's awesome! I want to get a set of triple shots for a review sometime. I think the crema/grinder combo would be so useable! I may do that with the set I have now or swap between the two whenever I want too!
I just ordered that exact same set! Triple shot with crema bridge. But I’m doubting if I should switch it to a grinder in the bridge? Do you have thoughts? I primarily do P&W and only have the one strat
@@josiahstroud2245 Hey man! Crema bridge is really nice and more true to a strat kind of sound. If you want more oomph in the bridge (most P&W requires a lot of hot lead lines in the bridge position), I'd recommend the Grinders. Remember to use zbrobst at checkout for 10%!
@@josiahstroud2245 I actually enjoy this combo. I do play it as my everyday use P&W myself. I love hearing it running into David Hislop helix patch. Best clean tone I’ve heard. And when I want to go heavy it packs a good punch. They are super clear and clean. My grinder I have it on my thineline tele with a creama bridge. As they are opposite of one another. They both compliment each other in the middle position where it’s not muddy at all.
LOL! When someone says a pair of pickups are more compressed than another, they don't mean that they sound like if you had a compressor pedal on, it just means that they're gainier, they have less headroom before they breakup! Nothing to do with compression as a processing effect like a compressor, it's more akin to when we talk about an amp being more compressed, it's that it's breaking up and has less clean headroom before breaking up. So if a pair of pickups are too compressed, you wouldn't say you'd turn down the compression on your Kemper, you'd rather just turn down the gain or put an amp profile that is cleaner with bigger headroom.
I’m gonna have a custom guitar made soon with Lambertones! Possibly a Ristretto in the Neck and a Grinder in the Bridge, but housed in Jazzmaster covers.
Ordered a set of Crema neck and Grinder bridge using your code 🎉 Updated: Got sent two cremas by mistake but they sent out a replacement same day I let them know 😭🎉🎉
Have had them for a a little while now. They are awesome. Have a very airy quality, sound great for a wide variety of purposes - I find them less situational than some other pickups
Bro! Why did you come up with that link just now? 😅 (or did I miss it in your earlier videos?) I purchased my set of grinders like two weeks ago mostly because of your great videos! I'm so looking forward to installing them in my custom built jazzmaster 😁 I'm gonna install two mini switches so I can change each pickup between series and parallel and additionally I'm gonna send everything through the rhythm section for tons of combinations 😂 I really can't wait! Thx again for your videos!!
I just got the link recently! No worries at all mate. Glad you bought yourself a pair of the Grinders! I hope the side by side comparison really helps affirm your purchase!
@@ZachBrobstMusic yes! I do a lot of worship myself, so it definitely helped. I emailed them now that it was you who made me get them and that they please count my purchase towards your commission 😉
Hey Zach, I appreciate your channel, Many Thanks! I play Suhr Classics P&W into KPA as well! Hey, I have a HSS Classic Pro with ML’s and nickel SSV in the bridge. I do similar songs and profiles. What would you recommend in bridge? SSV? Thornbucker? Thornbucker Plus, Crema or Grinder? Thanks!
Hey Mel! Glad you're enjoying the channel. The Thornbuckers have a really special place in my heart and I'd recommend those in a heartbeat. I find that the Cremas and Thornbuckers are similar but the thornbuckers have a "sweetness" that the Cremas don't. However, the Cremas are a lower output and a bit more even through the EQ spectrum. If you want more "oomph" I'd recommend the Grinders. They sing in that bridge position and handle gain so well, are nicely compressed, and still retain a ton of clarity. The SSV's, I felt, were a bit harsh at times and something that I think would only work with higher output single coil pickups if you were to mix it with a strat (ex. like a super strat type build). Hope that helps!
I had a Thornbucker in the bridge position in my Strat and I felt it was one of the most “sweetest” and “useable” HB I’ve ever played, I’m more of Single Coil kinda player and the TB felt closer( to me) to a S Coil for me 🤷♂️
I have a set of Suhrs in my Suhr JM. Thornbucker in the Neck and Thornbucker+ in the Bridge. I love them! But I would definitely entertain another Suhr JM with a set of Lambertones! Probably a Crema in the Neck and a Grinder in the Bridge.
@@ZachBrobstMusic Can anyone join who has a Kemper. I really enjoyed the sounds you were getting. I'm fairly new to the Kemper world and still trying to figure things out. But those Profiles would really be nice to add to my collection. Appreciate your reply.
Hey Matthew! I have a strat with triple shots and a crema bridge with a coil split that I think is really amazing sounding. If you want something with a bit more of a pushed, compressed kind of sound I'd go with the grinder bridge. If you want something sparkly and clean but can still handle any dirt you throw at it I'd go with the crema!
@@josiahstroud2245 depends what your going for tbh. I fill the crema is perfect for me cause I do a lot of P&W style music. And the crema bridge is still hot. I haven’t played the grinder much but a friend had them in his grestch and sounded really good! I’d say if your going for more a lead tone for bigger stuff get the grinder. Crema still does the bigger stuff really well for what it is!
I have a set of cremas that I bought when they were just starting to get popular. They're just sitting around because I gotta learn how to install them lol.
No comparison = Cremas are just too incredible. The airy top-end-detail & clarity. Nice demo and gorgeous guitar.
