My trick is to freeze 2L bottles and throw those in the cooler. All your stuff stays dry, it last longer (more like fridge temp than freezer temp) and when it's thawed at the end of the trip, you have some ice cold drinking water, which saves weight. With our RTIC a couple bottles will keep it cold for a few days if you keep it in the shade. For longer trips we do have to add ice, but how often are you doing trips longer than a few days? I think the use case for a fridge is if you're going on extended "overlanding" trips and have a solar panel on the roof and a battery system to keep it running when the car is off.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Yeah I actually do this year round. My cooler is in the corner of my kitchen full of cold drinks. I have to change the two 2L bottles about 2x per week. Pro tip: don't use a coke bottle. Use the generic Tonic/Soda bottles, that are more rounded on top. They're a little shorter than the stylized bottles, so fit into my cooler vertically. Also, give the bottle a little squeeze before you put the lid on. Squeeze out all the air and about half a cup of water so the ice has room to expand as it freezes. Also, on multi day camping trips we will freeze the food that we won't need for the first 24 hours. Do that and you barely need ice at all. We often have to set stuff out to thaw still on day two.
I bought one of these used your code and in less then 4 days it was here. I used it for a long road trip to keep drinks and food cold and I must say I was very impressed. Thanks for sharing this and hope by using your code your channel gets some kickback. If you are on the fence like I was you won’t be disappointed with the purchase
We run the rough country freezer/cooler. We also use a 350wh power supply when camping. It’ll last almost a week, on eco mode on the fully charged power supply. We like it better than cooler now that we’ve had it for a little over a year. Not having to worry about ice/water is nice.
Been looking at one of these! Like you said a cooler needs "ice" which means you got to have a huge ass cooler to account for ice and food. Perfect timing for this video! Lastly got to acknowledge the SOLGW shirt ;) Rumble eh....OK OK will try it! Hope you and the Fam are doing well! Peace out my Friend!
To many times Iv gotten water in something I didn’t want it in… a friend of mine brought up a great point… freeze 2 liter bottles.. they won’t leak like a bag of ice 🤷♂️ good idea in my opinion.
Nice, bro!! I've thought about something like this, but as you stated, the price point wasn't worth it to me. This one is very comparable to a high end cooler. Already have a Jackery, just need a solar panel. Great vid as usual. 🤘🏻
I recently purchased the AJ30. After hooking it up to my Electric Generators it will shut off once it gets to temp then the Electric Generator will shut off. How to I get it too keep running?
Pretty sure if you do same test but with 6 pack of beers and 6 pack soda and a few condiments when unplugged should last longer before heating back up. Unless you drink all beers before 🤣
True, and I had tht thought after I published this one. Lol, well, I suppose it’s a good base line total control test to start with 🤷♂️ And yea… beer wouldn’t last long 😂

Is it the same name on rumble?
JLLifeOffroad is the channel name over there, currently having issues uploading current video up on there
Why Rumble? Different content or you won't use YTube eventually?
It sucks trying to do stuff with 1 hand lol
😂😂😂😂 yes
Are you leaving RUclips? 😢
No, not leaving YT. Just reaching out to a broader audience. Our content will be published on both platforms
