Record Dude has a post 'Medley of jigs and reels' reorded about 1911. I have that same record and was reminded of it as soon as I saw your post. No doubt about where Billy got his inspiration for this piece. The quirky rhythms and melody form are all beautifully captured in Billy's salute to the leprechauns. As was your rendition. Cheers.
Thanks for your reply ! I absolutely adore Irish folk and dance music. As well as the actual dancing - those girls with their strong legs and short plaid skirts 😍 It seems to me that musicality is in the very soil of Ireland.
